  • Pulled this off tonight, no editing because I wanna devote the time for editing to my upcoming boom loop video onto heavy characters. This is not worth doing; better off doing a reset, but thought I’d showcase it as another way of leading to the microwalk with dr cr.mk. Pulled it off anyways since it’s fun to land microwalks and maybe this would motivate you to take risks.
    side note: I lost the set 1-2. #sf6guile

    Is the microwalk what gives that extra 1mm of drive rush bar that allows another complete loop? The thing that happens between 0:08 and 0:09 is what gives that extra drive for the extra loop?

    Theres a gap between crMK and hashogeki? Or does Guiles bLK have some properties Im unaware of?

      It seems from that range, Hashogeki just missed, it didn't reach far enough. Then he Knee Bazooka'd.

      Was in the midst of labbing that scenario again, but yeah- light hashogeki just missed at that range, bazooka knee just told him “No”. The rest is history.

    is it easier to do the microwalk if you do it that way? Assuming you meant the first leg of the loop (cr mk, cr lp, boom, etc etc). As opposed to the usual st HK, cr MP, boom, etc etc)?

      My concern at that time was st.HK boom loop not reaching or was not fast enough, so I did a boom loop that I knew was faster and easier for me to perform the microwalk. You could as well do DR into bazooka knee(b.lk) into two cr.lp boom, cr.mp light boom into a microwalk. You could still do any boom loop to do a microwalk, but cr.mk was the fastest move

      For more precise inputs, d-pad was used for microwalks.

    Hmmm... I guess Capcom need to scale meter generation with drive rush... you just made 2 bars with a single lk confirm.

      Maybe, but we’ll see what Capcom does to their second/official balance patch in SF6. If boom loops are more difficult to do in the new patch, it won’t stop me

    How can I land 4 boom in a row? In 0:13 i can see you landed, but somehow when I try to do it, I always one frame short after cr.lp. , therefore my cr.mp. doesn’t hit.

      For me, I would do the first cr.mp as early as possible, just don’t mash it or else your opponent would be airborne. Keep trying!

      @@CosmonautSpiral I’ve just tried to practice with this flow: “dr.cr.mp. + cr.mp. + lp.boom + cr.lp. + lp.boom”. And the last boom gives me 4 frame advantage which is not enough to link the upcoming cr.mp , it needs 6 frame. Could you ensure this flow is the same or not on you as well? Just want to find out why it’s not happening on you but happening on me.

      I’ve done this without an issue; it’s important that input release check is not set to ‘on’. It matters that you perform the cr.mp as early as possible. It’s hard to explain but this was as well discussed within the Guile Discord.

      So not only microwalk is difficult for an inexperienced player to perform, but if they’re already having a difficult time performing boom loops- it’s something they’d have to learn first. You can do a boom loop with many different ways, but the specific one here not only does more damage, but doing the microwalk allows you to get an extra 200-300+ damage. By all means you can do the combo without doing a microwalk, you can get a solid 60’ish percent.
