Things like this, Underworld, and 1313 are something of those Star Wars projects I really want revived because we really don't get much darker and grittier feeling games like those and Republic Commando. Hell I'm even curious what the initial seemingly darker and grittier version of Republic Commando would be like (the game trailer released where Delta Squad was just all white commandos)

I would love to see some kind of legislation that makes projects or IP’s written off as losses for tax purposes have to be entered into the public domain. Apparently, it’s really hard to bring something back legally once it’s written off as a tax loss, and I’m kind of over multi billion dollar companies killing cool properties and projects to save a few bucks.

Star Wars was seriously about to have a huge comeback, Disney should have let these finish, would have been a strong arrival to the brand. Instead, it was the warning signs of their new empire.
The fact that this could've been a good progenitor for a Republic Commando sequel, only to get canned last minute, makes me *VIOLENTLY* angry.

I always wanted a campaign where you play as the Empire but never switch sides because that is lame and been done to death at this point.
Would be cool to play as some Storm Trooper who actually has a compelling reason to hate the Rebellion so he fights for the Empire to the very end.

Why does Disney always choose the bad options
As far as I know, if anyone ever happens to have the will and the time to do something on a project to get this kind of feel to a star wars game on its own, there's a Star Wars Total Conversion Mod already done for the Free Community Game "Operation Harsh Doorstop" which has an available SDK to develop upon (UE4 if I remember correctly). Unfortunately I have like zero time for this and my eye strain problems reìtain me from taking it on my back. So maybe contacting the original modders to get part of the assets and working on the settings with the SDK you could achieve a more arcadey feel even if the game was meant to be somewhat realistic.
Unfortunately I feel we're years from a properly good SW Arcade multiplayer FPS. I would love to partecipate maybe in a more conceptual phase tho. If anyone takes the torch, let me know!
