    After checking with the dealer there is a quick shift kit A9770427 @$414.46. I think there is an additional fitting kit A9779435 no price at this time.

      $414.46 accessory .. plus install 'fixins"- LOL probably another $200 by the time the dealer techs install it, set the quick shifter fuel/and or ignition cut off milliseconds... on a $9600 motorcycle... I find that thoroughly amusing...

      You probably got the total about right and I think that would be too rich for my blood too.
      More and more companies are offering expensive but desirable accessories or in KTM case having the hardware installed but then you have pay to turn them on .
      I'd still rather be able to pick and choose accessories rather than BMW's method of paying for packages the put one desirable accessory in different packages.

      I'm a little disappointed with the number of people that have negative opinions on this bike primarily based on their feelings that the bike is unworthy of the Daytona even before swinging a leg over it.
      I believe you have mentioned in some of your videos about the Royal Enfield company being a model for giving good value bikes as a successful business model.

    Triumph have built a road oriented Daytona. Some folks say it's not a proper Daytona.
    I think Triumph have built a Daytona that will sell. It's well priced here in the UK.
    I'm with you on matt paint on bikes 🫤
    We have two Triumph bikes booked on a Triumph ride out day from the factory. I'm taking out the Tiger 1200 and Carol has a Street Triple 765 RS booked.
    She wonders if the 660 might just feel a little underwhelming?? If there's a Daytona slot available, she may try to get out on one. (Not sure if they are allowed filming on the ride outs 🤔)
    That's not until June, so a bit of a wait.

      I'd appreciate any feedback from her. I'm not all worried about the horsepower since it is at or above anything I currently ride and enjoy.

    Oh man!! I was on the list for the first Daytona 675 that came out back in 2006 (I think). I even contacted their marketing team to make a welcome/appreciation kit for the first buyers that had placed a deposit. They sent me a promotional poster, red cap, key chain, air pressure gauge... I think that was it. I still have those and I even framed the poster. When the time came to pick up the bike, the dealer wanted to add 1,500.00 to the price (on a bike where we had already agreed on the price being MSRP)... I got so mad that I told them to shove it up their 🤬... Walked out and bought a Honda CBR 600 RR for less that MSRP.
    Of course, that one has been long gone... I do have the hots for another sports bike... but in the form of a Ducati Panigale... sexy, sexy looking bike...
    I like the looks of the Daytona 660 but that is 95 hp vs the 129 hp that the 675 came with... 69 vs 74 torque. Heck, the 675 was also lighter... it is less, price wise, than the 675... Anyway, I like it!

      @flatcapcaferacer  Před 4 měsíci +2

      I don't blame you on nixing the deal on the 675. I'm about a 100 horsepower guy give or take a few in the way I ride. If the ride turns out good then not having an adjustable suspension doesn't matter either although I'm one of the few people who does experiment with adjustable suspensions.
      The Daytona doesn't have to do be an everything bike for me since I have other bikes that can do things it might not be able to do well.

    Great review, sir! I pre ordered mine in January and it's finally arriving in Chile next Tuesday. Great idea to compare the ergos to a Thruxton RS. I really enjoyed your video!

    Really nice bike, I do like the colour perfect for me. I can't understand why manufacturers don't put a proper hugger and longer front fender to protect the radiator from the get go. It wouldn't cost much for sure. Probably just a want to get more cash out of our pockets. Nice video Cheers.

      Joe the front and rear fenders keep getting shorter probably styling a factor too

    Great video showing the seating positions.👍👍

    Looks like a nice bike for the price. Sport riders are given another affordable choice besides the Japanese Big 4. It should compete well. Hopefully Triumph will come out with an RS model with up-graded suspension and brakes. BTW: in the 660 line, I like the Sport best.

    Great review as always, not for me. I saw a video on FB of my niece at the Triumph shop thinking she really liked ..i think a Speed Twin.? I dont think shes ridden, not that i ever knew.
    Hope you are well, missed rhe Daytona vid i guess. First bike i ever rode on was a Daytona 500 of my uncle's. Boy, they changed! Lol

    • @flatcapcaferacer
      @flatcapcaferacer  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes unfortunately there is a group of 675 riders out there tha claimt this one isn't worthy of the Daytona name. My opinion is guys like yourself who rode the Daytona 500 have just much right if not more to be protective of the Daytona name . There have been a half dozen models with that carried the Daytona name. While this one isn't the fastest it is closer to the top of the list overall than many of the other models.

    I own a 2005 Daytona 955i... for a 1/3 of the cost of this "impostor" you can have Daytona 955i .. probably less to insure, parts still available, great performance .. A darn shame TRIUMPH gave up on a " 1255 Daytona" or.... one built from the bones of the Speed Triple 1200R.. w/ fairings, 185 rwhp and a huge accessory parts catalog ... Not sure what the point of a $10K "faired" 660.. Triumph offers a myriad of "beginner" bikes already ...

    • @flatcapcaferacer
      @flatcapcaferacer  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I was selling Triumphs when the 900 and 1200 Daytonas were being sold . I also sold was the T595's when they came out .
      I really wanted one of T595s.
      I agree that Triumph missed an opportunity with the Triumph Speed Triple 1200RR because it was almost impossible to ride for more than 30 minutes.
      I respect your opinion but disagree on the Daytona 660 being a starter or imposter bike.
      100 horsepower with a relatively light weight, with some decent ergonomics and an affordable price gives Triumph ability to sell a bike people want.
