- Blind Film Critic Responds to Kevin Smith's Tweet Request with Funny Review of CLERKS
On April 25, 2011, the Blind Film Critic tweeted to Kevin Smith @ThatKevinSmith (Writer/Director of "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back", "Clerks", "Clerks 2" "Chasing Amy" "Mallrats" and more) "Which of your movies is best for a blind man to review?" Kevin Smith responded with: "CLERKS - which ironically LOOKS like it was made by a blind man." So here it is.... The Blind Film Critic Tommy Edison reviews "Clerks".
"Clerks" - Starring Brian O'Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, and Kevin Smith. Written & Directed by Kevin Smith. A day in the lives of two convenience clerks named Dante and Randal as they annoy customers, discuss movies, and play hockey on the store roof.

Nearly all of Kevin Smith's movies are perfect for blind people, because his movies tend to rely on dialogue over visuals.
I wonder what he'd think of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back lol!
Amazing I have an analysis of clerks, love your take on it.
Some review suggestions: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Cannibal: The Musical, and American Movie! Hope to see all three reviewed some day! Great review of Clerks by the way. One of my all time favorite films!
awesome! i liked this guy already but his review of clerks pushes it over into man crush territory.
Kevin smiths films have always had great dialogue for comedy films. Clerks and Mallrats are two of my favorites of his. Mallrats was the first movie i seen of his and i fell in love with it instantly.
Great review and im glad that you can enjoy such a great cult classic the same we do.
I have a question: when you watch movies, let's use this one as an example, do you watch it with someone else to explain visual gags (like the "brand new movies" thing) or do you watch by yourself and try to piece things together?
@BlindFilmCritic fair enough, keep it up man, better than most film critics on CZcams, blind or not
Awesome, been waiting for this since the tweet. Great review.
You should check out the British series peep show. It's very dialogue heavy
Just discovered your channel. Awesome shit, Tommy.
If you haven't reviewed it yet, I'd love to get your take on "His Girl Friday" starring Rosalind Russel and Cary Grant.
Although I am not blind, I have been experiencing movies just like this fellow.
I record the sound and I "watch" the movies while I am driving.
It is a phenomenal experience.
Try it. It beats listening to audio books.
I will try CLERKS tomorrow.
Clerks 2 for sure
My two favourite movies of all time are Fight Club and the first Rocky, so either of those two would be awesome
One of my favorite films of all time and you nailed it in your analysis.
FREAKING LOVE THIS GUY! AND THIS MOVIE!
I'd like to see a review for The Social Network. It has pretty much been raised to the skies for it's brilliant and fast-paced dialogue, and I would love to see what The Critic thinks of it. :-)
you might not be able to read this, too soon?, but i really enjoyed your review and it was an interesting idea. for some reason i get the feeling you enjoy witty dialogue more than i might. look forward to future ones!
apocalypse now would be great to review. it's a classic, and the sound design is just amazing.
Nice review, Tommy. Clerks Two is also great. Great dialogue, just like the first one. Now, watch Pulp Fiction, damn it to hell...l o l
Tommy i think you should do a review of Good Morning Vietnam. I would love to hear your opinion on it, as it one of my favorites! Love what your doing, keep it up!
Those movies are so visually stylistic, good thing about clerks is that it is mostly clever dialogue, which is what Kevin Smith got famous for
Awesome! Seriously you should review all the cult classics to really get your name out! Life Aquatic, Big Lebowski, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Donnie Darko, Old School, etc. I'd love to see some 80's movie reivews! That would get you going with the 30 somethings! Revenger of the Nerds, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Weird Science!!!
I'd like a review of The Royal Tenenbaums because everyone says it's all about the visuals & I'd like to hear how a blind audience member would interpret it.
Man, if you can review movies without sight, it makes me feel inadequate for not being able to play video games because of motor skills problems.
But some movies are so good even a blind man can see the quality.
HAHAH that is the best movie ever! He would miss the playing football in tuxedos scene though :/
i love how you crack your self up...its so funny!
I guess Silent Bob was the hidden star in this movie...
Please review The Shawshank Redemption with Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins? If you haven't seen it, the film's got lots of well-acted dialog and an amazing score, including a bit with The Marriage of Figaro. Seeing as they're in prison it's up to the music to create space.
Please review Network! Its my all time favorite.
Tom. would you view 'scanners'. I'd think you'd really like it
I really wish there would be a special edition colorized version of this movie on blu ray, you know, just to see how cool it would look with color even though i respect the black and white. And by the way, is your keyboard in brail?
The Life Aquatic.
Review In Bruges by Martin McDonagh starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, and Ralph Fiennse
How about Nashville?
dun dun dun dun dun dun SALSA SHARK!

Please review Notes on Blindness. I actually watched most of that movie with my eyes closed.

Chasing Amy is his best movie, you should watch/review it if you haven't :D
Dr Strangelove.
Of course he hasn't seen it... he hasn't seen anything -_-
My Dinner With Andre
If you like this please check out and do a review on the show "Todd & the Book of Pure Evil" It;s an awesome show with great dialogue and non stop comedy.. It even has Jason Mewes in it from most of Kevin Smiths films. Everyone needs to check this show out
I have no blind friends which sorta makes me feel like I'm missing out. Just wondering, do you have one of those pop-upy keyboards like in the spy film, The Sneakers?
Cool you like Kevin Smith movies
How do you enjoy Silent Bob? lol
how about source code?
Embrace your name,switch to Thomas.
@TeenAuthor you should review video games
@BlindFilmCritic A Few Good Men?
review werewolf in a women's prison
hey Tommy, do jackass 3D
Please don't do that film, Tommy. Do "The Royal Tenenbaums" instead.
Sometimes you talk a bit like Little Nicky.
@DrPhilip91 i was thinking the same thing, and if you're blind how can you be a movie critic?
If your blind how do you tweet?
are actually blind or just good at extreme squinting?
first
