  • This time lapse video, produced in the summer of 2012, documents the preparation and transport of the Lockheed Vega "Winnie Mae" from the Steven F. Udvary-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia to the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC where it will be displayed in the "Time and Navigation" gallery, scheduled to open in March, 2013. Music by the Lost Patrol.

    Thank you, interesting video. In response to some comments above, they can't all fly again. Some just need to look pretty. I love a moving plane as much as anyone else and it does give the most complete feel for the plane but sometimes it just isn't practical. This one is well preserved and loved.

      Sometimes I think there is an award out there somewhere for the most annoying music accompanying a video on CZcams. This wouldn't win it, but might deserve a nomination.

      He founded a kids cereal company... not. If I remember correctly he was killed in an aircraft crash, along with western folklore teller Will Rogers.

      He died in a plane crash in Alaska, he was 35 or 36. His passenger was Will Roger's

      So their Space Shuttle, a waste? The rockets, at waste? They should fly their Concorde once a week? Plenty of Vegas around... flying examples too.
