In the little town of Black Falls, every house looks the same and almost everyone works for Black Box Unlimited Worldwide Industries, purveyors of a device that is sweeping the nation. Toe Johnson, 11, is unimpressed with the company and its wares; he just wants a few friends. Then, a wish-granting rock falls from the sky and changes everything. The town swarms with wishes gone amok, but the trouble really begins when adults get their hands on the rock.

"The Childhood Movie You Don't Remember" the funny part is that I remembered basically everything but the name for years, despite having only ever seen it once. It was burned into my memory like a fever dream, Spore editor and everything.
I'm the same way I can only remember a few scenes and the rainbow rock but I could never remember the damn name

I only remembered the alligators, the magic rock, and that kid tackling helvetica out the window after she ate a fish. But i thought that last one was from a different movie

The weirdest part of this movie is that my brain latched on to extremely random parts of it so that 6 or so months ago when I randomly chose a children's movie on Netflix to put on for my cousin, I found myself going "Oh! That's where that scene is from."
This movie also reminds us that Spore exists
SAME! I could distinctly remember a few scenes, lines, and shots, but absolutely nothing else.
As someone who plays Spore, that scene killed me. Not only is Spore singleplayer, but that's not even actual gameplay, that's the creature demo! They're playing an intense game of "click the emotes"
I watched this movie ONCE as a kid and this is the 2nd time ever in my life that I've acknowledged it's existence.

The only movie my parents actually couldn’t sit through with me as a kid, I remember the exact scene they tapped out and turned it off. It was just as the black box monster fought the bees.

The only thing I remembered from watching this movie. Was going to the dollar theater with my dad and this lady screamed out loud because there was a rat crawling around. Later on my dad freaked out because he felt the rat near his legs. That's it. That's all I remember.

The Black Cube is actually my favorite part of the movie, it's the type of invention you don't see much in fiction anymore.

People I know usually seem to have trouble with the idea of having the power to do literally anything through wishes, because you have to be very literal and specific. But you don't. You can simply say something along the lines of "I wish that everything I wish for, as long as I live, will happen exactly as I intend."
You basically would have complete and total control over everything. Nothing could ever go wrong, you would have the power to do the impossible with no consequences.
They need to pay someone to specifically edit the movie so that all shorts go in the right order to figure out what in the heck is happening

HOLY SHIT THIS MOVIE HAS BEEN IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS. I had memories of a weird movie with a boy who gets a rainbow rock that grants wishes, but I could never find it.
Same. I always remember a movie with weird alligators, monster goo, weird kids with rock, a house with crazy disinfectant and germ hater guy.
The funny part is that i actually didn't remember this movie, like that thing that happens to everyone, you have a childhood memory of something you watched and it just got stuck in your mind but you still don't remember it

I once held one of the rainbow rock props... it was very much made of plastic, they even left a mark from the mold on it.

@@qwertyiuwg4uwtwthn I had a friend in elementary school whose parents were part of the production. To be honest, that was many years ago, it was more likely made of resin. From what I remember, I was told they made multiple copies, and the one I held never made it to screen.
so like fun fact as a child my bestfriend and I were so obessed with this movie that we literally rewrote the script, acted it out and filmed it all. We had so much fun making our fan movie that it inspired both of us to move into the career fields we wanted. My friend has worked on multiple local play and starred in small ads. Im self studying animation and we still work together to put together stories and character designs. this little adventure was such a push for us that it is still a fond favourite of mine and i still love this movie to this day,

There was a cancelled DS game that was made to tie into the movie, but it was cancelled at the last minute.

The only reason I remember this movie is because it was the last film that my family rented and never returned to a Blockbuster store. I still have the DVD in my home and it says rental in big letters on the bottom. It was my family's weapon of choice in aiding Blockbuster's downfall.

I loved this movie as a kid. I remember it existed like a year ago but never saw anyone talking about it so I forgot it existed again until today.
"don't remember" sirs, i watched that movie regularly for an entire year, my sisters and i once spent a week exclusively watching this movie just over and over, i sing the helvetica theme song every single time i see the name of the font, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. i hadn't watched this in years yet i was able to say the lines along with the characters, with the intonations and everything, i remember details of the plot with excruciating detail, my sisters and i sometimes still quote it, it is ENGRAVED in my memory for better or worse
i thought this movie was i weird fever dream i had and now i’m being violently forced to remember parts of my childhood

Two things. I mixed this movie up with my actual memory. I was convinced Nose was my actual friend I actually went to school with. When I saw Lord of the Rings when I was 13, I thought my friend Nose started acting.

Okay okay okay this MIGHT be the movie that’s been destroying h my entire life!! I saw this ONCE and all I remember is a kid standing up in a classroom, opens his backpack and screams “SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIENDS”. Me and my best friend quoted that everyday we got to school and entered class for like a solid month straight...I have literally gone through Wilepedia’s list of all movies made in 2009 and went up to 2011 but none of the movies sounded familiar...I am shaking and about to cry because I think this is the movie I saw as a kid and just never remembered anything else from it
