    Almas you are 100% right in stating that if your views (and lifestyle) are different than other Desi folks they are so quick to judge you in a negative way. I am from Quetta and then Islamabad and now I live in California and i don’t have Desi friends, not that I didn’t try but just that they judged me for wearing dresses (my dresses covered my knees) and sleeveless tops. I’m married and have three children. My husband never forbids me from dressing modestly. I never go overboard with modern dressing or anything of that sort. And as though that was not enough they came to my house for a meal and asked if the meat was Zabiha and I said I only cook halal. They refused to eat because I couldn’t confirm that it was “Zabiha” . Made me sad 😞 and I was done. I appreciate you Almas, please let no one change you.

      That is so true..bless you. Our desi people are especially the uneducated people are the most judgemental people .

      Wow 😮 sorry to hear ur struggles, I have had a love hate relationship with Desi people too my whole life. But we finally found our tribe, it's a mixture of all backgrounds and I like it that way.

    I walk around 10 to 11 miles or 20,000 steps everyday. I have hypothyroidism, because of that I have to work really hard. Staying in good shape is not easy for me. It’s my personal choice to stay fit, I am in my 40’s, all my life I played all kinds of sports and stayed very active. Taking care of our body is very important. Agar heavy hotay hain Uss ke sath bohat sari illnesses gherh laiti hain insan ko.

    Thanks for sharing, how are you maintaining the weight now, if you eliminate the carbs completely in the “bread/roti”, it will affect you any way skin/ hair?

      Na,I do take routine carbs everyday,it’s just the timing and the quantity… take healthy carbs in breakfast and keep decreasing it with the day… no carbs after 8 pm max

      Yeah, counting calories does help but it’s not that easy to keep a record of everything you eat in a long run so just take it easy on yourself and you can weigh everyday if you want to 😊

    If doing just “ 10,000 steps” is enough to fulfill the daily exercising recommendation? & maintain the weigh along with the healthy diet?

      I am doing 10,000 steps and skipping one meal everyday to maintain my weight and mostly it’s the dinner which i skip because its good to eat nothing after 8 pm ….
