    Could anyone better informed than me go over specificity in more detail? Like the examples here - obviously weighted kicks and throwing sand filled rugby balls doesn’t make any sense for strength building or technique work, because it’s the worst of all worlds combined lol. But then you say a floor press is more specific to many sports because of the range of motion resembling a fend. Wouldn’t a bench press generally build more muscle and therefore strength for the fend - regardless of whether it looks less similar to the motion of a fend or not? Just a hobbyist internet noob who enjoys the dulcet tones of our Sikastanian overlords! Cheers

      From noob to noob. I Don't think it's about specificity. Fatigue management and injury risk is important in S&C. Floor press is enough to build chest with less injury risk than bench press. Similarly Romanian Vs deadlift. Power clean vs full clean. Push press Vs jerk etc.
