Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Its become more clear that the field of UX is becoming overloaded with "tools" such as this. As important as it is to understand the users, we are making things difficult for ourselves with all these tools that more or less serve the same purpose (Hicks Law). We must focus on what really matters. In the real world, rarely will we come across clients who are willing to give designers the time required to deliver a complex product. Perhaps that's just the way it is in design studios and maybe all these fancy tools are useful if you work in a product company.
I hate all these kind of side activities in my studies. But I want to thank you people who always helps me to complete assignments. I had no idea about empathy mapping but after your explanation I wrote my assignment completely by myself. Thank you very much.
Hi.. I thank you for explanation of the empathy map. Do I should explain to the person that I'm interviewing that I want to make a new product, so I need to know what are your habits, how do you think... Ect ? Because, obviosly, the user will ask me about the them of our discussion.
i am working on ux case study , what stage dowe do emplathy mapping .. do we show trhefinished app and ask them to navigate and collect thrir thougts or is it done before starting the app screens ?
So what happens when the user says something different as opposed to what they feel and think??, especially if they are not comfortable discussing it in the open or freely??
Great video definitely!, though I would like to ask how we determine how many people I should interview to get a reliable figure of my customers' needs?
@@derrickduplessy215 How we can start the interview with them ? Should I say to them, that I have a new product and I need to Know your habits, your way of thinking before I put it on the market ? I don't know how to convince People to speak with me and gain their empathy to have the real information ?
Only teachers would care about this i couldn't give two shits about that its not like people would care about how ur feeling in irl this is just a way to mask how u need help without directly asking it
One of the most clear explanations of empathy maps. Thank you.

WHY can't I replace personas with empathy maps?

Are these mapped to a step in a user journey?
How to apply elections

Start with 5 people. If they say dramatically different things, interview 5 more until you can see the patterns.
Derrick Duplessy thanks for your recommendation!
