I have a provider's warehouse near my house and I see there are hundreds of delivery person already available. And it is much easier to deliver to places 1.9 kms in 10 mins. And honestly if the deliver will take time then they will already notify you that the delivery will take 15 mins. I feel this have provided employment opportunities to so many people. The grocery delivery apps are actually a necessity these days. As you mentioned, there are actually stores nearby that aren't even properly stocked and hence these delivery apps are very helpful. But there's no emergency for groceries. There won't be any damage to someone's health if the groceries came in 2 hours instead of one.
This is definitely not applicable to medicines and sanitary napkins that are actually essential and often required immediately. These should be definitely used.
But, many times the warehouses are not really nearby and the delivery men of these business models suffer. Though that's not the case always, but it is actually more often than not. I've myself came accross people that were in so hurry that they wouldn't even spare a minute to drink water just because they can't be late to deliver groceries.
I'm not saying that these services are completely useless but we should be a little more mindful and avoid using the 10 minute service just to get groceries unless it's really required or necessary

Absolutely agree. There was never a need to deliver groceries within 10 minutes. On the other hand, imagine a scenario where either you or your kid/parent is hit and injured/killed by a speeding Zepto or BlinkIt biker...all because of some imaginary need created by these companies to force riders to deliver groceries within 10 minutes.
There is enough lawlessness in India. Traffic police are overworked, underpaid and simply can't be everywhere. It is up to us citizens to think rationally and discourage bad practices for the betterment of our country.

Totally agreed because MRPs are rash given they never put any offer so the goods for people tight on budget or the ones staying alone have a lot of issues.

The reason that you have given is completely correct for places where there are shops near by your house but the place where i live there is no such grocery shop near by also the area is not very populated so i have to travel to get grocery so its kind of fine for me to use these apps but for people who have grocery shop near by its better to avoid

While I understand your point but grocery delivery apps are a lifesaver for moms like me who have random other responsibilities at home too. I agree that in India the shops are nearby and even I would like to take a walk upto them but what about the abrupt bunch of street dogs which randomly starts circling us making my daughter and me scared each time we step out and there is no action against it. Street dogs roam around so freely even inside the gated communities. Also for those wives whose husband return home late from office. Plus if someone is going under medical condition or surgery which has happened in our case these apps have been a lifesaver atleast for me.

Clearly, not a woman, ARE you?
Try being born a woman & then you'll know.
In Mumbai, I dared to go against my family's wishes (yahan to kuchh nahi hota hai - safest city ever!) & i walked to the main road to 24*7 medical.
Enroute a man grabbed my hand.
      I yelled.
Because, it's Mumbai, an aunty was also out at midnight. And he ran away.
Women on street give hope to other women.
But you've no IDEA how scared I was coming back.
Ofcourse, I pretended like nothing happened. As a woman, you've to!
Extreme pain. But so many times in need, we beg the medicine guy to deliver but they don't.
YES, not just the brutal cramps that are worse than several electric shocks a second, & do come in absolute emergency without warning often,
But even when there was a sudden conjunctivitis situation at night!
      Or better yet, COVID.
It's only humane to NOT STEP OUT.
Infact, in any infection you MUST stay in to avoid giving other people the disease!!
You can suddenly bleed so much, your pad stock can be over.
      Then what?
Shame on you. You disgust me on how UNAWARE you're of the other half of YOUR species' reality and pain.
And the benefit of dealing with AI , & not letting anyone know what you bought!!
Even in 2022, several women EVEN in Mumbai, take sanitary products in black polythene.
The gaze when everyone at the kirana stares at you like you committed a crime.
      Oh, the male privilege!
      Have some decency!!

As a customer i prefer user experience
I can't stand in a queue of 5 people to buy 1kg sugar or something like that i need it within 15 mins from the comfort of my home. And also local vendors sometimes misbehave with the customers they say "aapko lena hai toh lo otherwise kisi or shop se lelo" they are selling Mohan corn flakes and not Kelloggs corn flakes because Kelloggs has lower margin for them but as a customer i want the cornflakes which is of reputed company so that i dont face any health issues later.

its not 10 min for every location, it's basically ride time + 2 mins and there's no in time or free like Domino's had so not the same thing. Also by tech they mean even the location they deliver to and distance is considered while setting up so tech doesn't end at the warehouse it does account for the total time.
