- We took a three-day trip to Coyote Flats to experience camping and overlanding above 10,000 feet! @TrailRecon gave us a few great ideas for our campsites; and the eastern Sierra never disappoints, providing us a great opportunity to test out all of our gear. I met both Greg (@trailnewbie) and Matt (@thejeepnewb) on Instagram, and it was great to finally meet both of them in person.

We were at the lake at the same time. Flying drones over the lake and right above other camps for a considerable time isn't cool. We're all up there to enjoy the outdoors and getting buzzed by a drone over and over isn't what camping is about.

Those Jeeps look unstoppable, im not really into off-roading vehicles but is a truck less capable then a jeep? Or Suv? It looks like the jeep is more agile less likley to get stuck?
I think where Wranglers tend to win out is their short wheelbases and narrow bodies. They share a lot of the same features as other vehicles (lockers, 4:1 transfer cases etc), but the small size makes it easier to get into some trails you just couldn't take a truck. Additionally, it gives you more options when choosing a line through obstacles.
Looks awesome, I’ll be getting stationed out at Vandenberg and can’t wait to get into some overlanding out that way.

Can I make it in a stock 4x4 tacoma without all terrain tires?
I probably wouldn't recommend it. There's some pretty off-camber parts you'd want high clearance for.
