    Having grown up outside of the U.S. and traveled outside of the U.S., I can honestly say that 'culture' makes the man. And the Korean culture can seem intense to ppl who come from families that aren't as tight knit (the same can be said for Italians. Spaniards. Turks. And the list goes on).
    I agree with your points though. There are lots of things to take into consideration when dating a korean man and you have to be willing to be taught & to teach.
    As for our hair, just like our skin complexion, our hair is different too and when we are teaching others, we need to keep in mind that not ALL BW have the same needs & ways of caring for ourselves.
    Oh. And there's a big difference between Westernized Koreans & Non-westernized Koreans.
    I'd just say that no matter who you date or are getting to know, ask the tough questions because if you're dating with a purpose there's a lot you NEED to know. Regardless of Ethnicity or Race or Cultural Differences.

      @@roamwithromy Yes Ma'am. There's a lot to take into consideration and it's channels like yours that opens windows and doors to opportunities, topics, and conversations that we need to have as women. I'd we believe in a higher being, we have to believe that God/ The Universe has lots of potential options for us. And learning from other women should be in our Top 5 things to do if we want to live a full life.
      So Thank You (including your husband) for sharing your experience with us. Sometimes just seeing others doing the hardwork, what some view as the impossible, and what we all desire (to be loved by the best man for us) is the spark we need.
      감사합니다!!!

      It’s so much as the dramas, as the fact that delulus believe this unrealistic idea that they’ve built in their minds of Korean men and end up being disappointed when they realize it was all a fantasy

    • @ChannelFiend
      @ChannelFiend Před 2 lety

      @@uniquelyolmiche4736 There's a reason for why ppl are drawn to K-Dramas. They love the idea of being in love and aren't as socially skilled as others, so what they see on tv, they take it as being 'REAL'. So they believe everything they see from these movies/ shows believing that this is the Korean culture.
      They don't realize that some Koreans are racist, sexist, agist, classist, and every other -ist in-between. AND that women aren't always safe, do get objectified, and there are some Korean bad actors who prey on unsuspecting women, foreign or not.

  • @cheryljennings-blanchet2016

    Any two people from two different families will meet challenges when they live together. Instead of accentuating the differences, it’s better to meet life with an attitude of winning in finding balance and harmony. I like the light off. He prefers the light on! Make it a game selecting certain nights or times to switch the lights. Life is soo short. Just have fun discovering each other.

    I always say that even do I have some attraction to a Korean man, I will never marry one at least is perhaps a Korean American. I was born in Puerto Rico so I am used to a slow and not that work base culture, also I am a very lazy type relaxed person and i think if I go to Korea ..people will hate me there. Plus even do I like Korean culture I think that yes you should adapt to the culture of the country you wanna go but one thing is taking your time to adapt and the other is been forced to adapt, I am a person that likes to take time and also I like to feel relax doing stuff, being forced by my in-laws or husband or friends ... I will become crazy. And also without being mean or offending people, that is not my intention. i don't wanna be with a husband that always depends on his family mostly his parents like the type of mama boy or something, I understand that in Korean culture family is important and i agree however i don't want a guy that cannot decide by himself. That is why I said that I prefer at least a Korean American that is used to western culture, that will make things easier for us, and also the communication will be better in my opinion.
    That is my humble opinion xd.

      I really love your honesty and self awareness. It’s hard to adapt to Korean culture and even harder when you come from a more relaxed culture or upbringing. My husband is on the more non traditional end and even he has high expectations. It all comes down to what you’ll deal with and I agree that a Korean American would be more ideal because they’ll understand your way of life better ♥️

    I have never watched a kdrama and although I think that Korean men are extremely handsome ...if I'm being honest I think that Korean men are just like American men meaning that they expect their significant others to cook ,clean ,& be ready to fulfill any other demands that they have .( including their sexual demands) and sadly I'll continue to think this way until by some miracle that God has planned for my future some guy comes along and convinces me that I'm wrong.

    Thank you so much!! I am Haitian girl (I look half white for some odd reason lmao) but my family is VERY TRADITIONAL. Every single bit of these traits align with my personality/what I'd be okay with in a marriage. I am learning femininity and submission in marriage, and it's funny that you describe Korean men in this way. American men are similar, but they are becoming less traditional and don't want marriage or feminine women anymore (it seems)
    I've always wanted to move or visit SK, not for marriage but because I am learning the language and love the ancient culture. I am just scared of racism is all...

    Excellent talk. Thank you for telling the truth.
    If a family is racist then you and your beloved must speak openly about your feelings and evaluate how much support you will actually get from that part of the family. If ALL of them are racist then you will have to cut them loose. If only ONE person is racist and the other family members will still interact with you, then, you can maintain contact with them.
    My mother (bw) and step-father (wm) married in the late 1960's. His father disowned him and lived 15 more years WITHOUT ever speaking to his only son ever again. My step-father's mother, however, despite making some ignorant comments, tried to understand the situation and visited twice from the East Coast. She was always very kind. So, you see, even in a family, one person may be accepting and another may not be. My parents were married for 30 years and I had a great childhood.

      @roamwithromy  Před 2 lety
