I don't think Korean likes loud personality especially a foreigner. They probably tried to be nice to you when they meet you at first time just to be kind.
Youre right about the not liking loud, but trust me if Korean elders don’t like you , they don’t pretend, so being warm to her at first is already a sign they were okay with her
As soon as his mom said “you can call me eomma” I would have burst into tears 😭😭
