Just to add up here, Salesforce is not just a CRM now, it is much more than that, you can create any application you like using the Salesforce platform. To get started you should have basic knowledge of OOPS concepts and a bit of coding experience in any language. Lightning is not just HTML, it has it's own defined aura and lightning tags, and most importantly it uses Javascript and Apex at the backend for MVC. A better version named Lightning Web Components framework has been introduced now in place of Lightning Aura Components which only uses HTML templates and JavaScript for front end making most of the operations to be handled by Browser as per the defined Web Standards.
Is it worth it to learn Salesforce in 2019? I don't see it used by companies except for in accounting. Is freelancing possible?
@@lgiorgos1 yes, there are a lot freelancing opportunities available as a Salesforce developer and an admin. I myself have seen the scope of freelance work. Also, it's just not the accounting companies which are using Salesforce, companies like Amazon, JP Morgan, Facebook, VmWare etc almost all top 100 fortune companies are using it whether they are using it for sales and accounting purpose or providing services to their customers. Salesforce provides separate set of tools relevant to every industry but the platform always remains the same.
@@varunkaushal07 Thanks. I got offered a junior position in a big company(on of the big 4 consulting companies) and I'm thinking about it. I will have to pass a bootcamp on salesforce before I get hired and I am not sure if it's worth it because the salary is very low. I live in Greece and the salary is probably more than 6 times less than in the USA and it makes me wonder whether I have some better choices.
@@lgiorgos1 , You should definitely give it a try, if you have some coding experience you can easily be a Salesforce developer and earn a very good amount of money with some experience. Initially, I too started with a small salary in India as a Salesforce Developer and after an year, I got an onsite opportunity to work in Argentina as a Salesforce Developer and I am earning a good amount of money here as compared to my experience, I have a total of 2 years of experience in Salesforce now and I am getting a lot of opportunities from other countries as well because there is a huge demand for Salesforce talent! If you have good knowledge and problem solving skills, and a little bit of experience, trust me with in some time you will earn a lot, you just have to get started once! But that totally depends upon you if you want to learn Salesforce or any other technology like Machine learning. But trust me you will love Salesforce, once you get started and see the capabilities of the platform! Happy to help! :)

1. Nice beginner level info. One doesn't need to have knowledge of many programming languages to become a Salesforce developer. It's quite similar to Java.
2. In Lighting, they have a concept of MVCC not MVC. Difficult to explain with limited words.
3. Salesforce systems aren't updated once you save a record/ information. Infact, you hit the server to get the data. So all real time data.
4. To all freshers, don't take it as something very magical. It's just a career path you choose. Similar challenges are there in any skill you learn. But yes, it's a niche tech and per my understanding, it musy be in demand at least for another decade.

There are two more important point about Salesforce. First it is a Multi tenant architecture and second it is a Metadata driven driven technology.
