Man Gets Limb-Lengthening Surgery to Be Taller

- One man made a special trip to Las Vegas with his wife, but he's not hoping to strike it rich. He's here to get taller. Ryan Wade is 5-foot-7, just two inches shorter than the average American male. He's determined to be taller than his wife, so he went to orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kevin Debiparshad for a groundbreaking limb-lengthening procedure. The procedure involves implanting a steel device into the thigh bone on both legs. #InsideEdition
This was the most unnecessary surgery I have ever seen.

It’s kinda tragic. This guy did this because of the male beauty standards.
People saying it’s unnecessary and dumb but the real issue isn’t with him it’s with what drove him to want to get taller.
Exactly, those only fans whoes constantly approving taller guys have made height a masculine trait
This comment is underrated. People just throw around the word "insecure" but don't ask why he was insecure in the first place. It's really depressing and dark.
As a shorter guy tall friends do take you less seriously but there’s other factors involved
Well we can’t control women’s height preferences so we gotta do this

Yes. It’s like no matter what they do, society is going to mock them. They may as well do what they want at this point. I’m 5’11 and wish I could have this done, but man does that look painful.
In all fairness. 5 foot 7 is really not that short . At that point your taller than most females and hes married so its not likely hes looking for somone outside or at least he should nt be . This is likely someone who is just self obssessed . I don t get why hes getting the surgery.
Exactly
I think people have to accept that society is hypocritical and jsut do what you want to have better life for yourself
@@RahaulRamchandani-em1rn you would have to be one of the dumbest people on earth to not understand why he got the surgery. it doesn't matter that he isn't THAT short, what matters is his perception of his own height and subsequent insecurity about it. he felt insecure, and did something about it. its really that simple. fair play to him.

I noticed the man who has gone through the surgery has his legs looked as though it's twisted inward, side effect of the healing process?
I'm 24 years old. I had cancer during my teenage years so the cancer and chemo slowed my bone growth and stunted it, I would have probably been 6ft. My illness will probably return. If you search up studies they say for every 2 inches shorter Su**cide goes up 9 percent, it also affects work pay, social treatment, dating. Height is one of those thing society correlates to masculinity, so many people treat short men as less of a man. This social backlash causes height dysphoriia in many short men. I encourage you to try to understand where the insecurity comes from. It doesn't just fall out of the sky. Even though I'm cancer free, society treats my height like a cancer, and it can be very emotionally painful at times.

Just by working out and especially incorporating hang exercises (chin ups and pull ups), you can reinstate your natural height, which has been lost due to poor posture, curved spines, week shoulder/ neck muscles. Some people report 1 or 2 inches, but this is not new height, just bringing out their correct body form natural height, which some people may never have experienced before, because the postural issues may have started in childhood.
Some people don't want to play the cards they've been dealt their whole lives. It doesn't seem fair to tell them to live with what they've been given when the dealer can be so unfair.

Yeah but did anybody tell him he now has more risk of breakage at the points of the new bone? Looks wonderful but I could think of a myriad of negative possibilities and consequences. From stretching ligaments to muscles that aren't going to work as well. Not to mention making the wrong twist or movement could cause an a nasty break at the new bone growth and if they tell you the bone will be just as strong or stronger. That's the part they don't tell their client... I'm not taking that chance and I'm 5 ft 7 started out at 5 6 1/2 . I would rather be this height and have a stable grounding than to put stilts on and have problems later. Confidence and social skills, good posture and if you meet the right people your height doesn't matter anyway it's all how you feel about it. What you can do is prevent your spine from degenerating. Which is just as good as growing 2 to 4 in anyway
yeah I believe it's all about self respect and self worth. When you honor your body and put it in high regard. Not even social pressure or stigma would put you down or make you do this.

i can’t speak for everyone but personally a few thousand dollar fake boobs sound way less crazy than a luxury car payment just to get a surgery to pull your bones apart?? just for 3 inches? not saying he shouldn’t be able to do it, i’m sure if i wanted to be taller and had enough money i’d wanna get it done too. it just sounds very outlandish
@@haleyt3754: This is a body improvement, a car doesn't improve your body. OK, this is very expensive, but I believe that it will become cheaper in the future like a lot of technologies.
@@haleyt3754 Its not outlandish. Women almost never give short men a chance. I know damn well I'd become more attractive once I get this done going from 5'6.5 to 6'0.
“I’ve got another 70 years left on this planet” b how you know?
Sopiah Rose Only God knows? Get real. lol 🤣
Just don’t think of it like that
It would suck if he died the minute he was 2 inches taller.
Dude seems like a super optimist the entire video. I love it.
@@zurdi33
Hell nah.. 😂😂💀
his wife is awesome for supporting him
I dont see nothing wrong with this, its the same when woman get bigger boobs? no difference. If i had the money, i would do it.
I'm 19 and I'm 5'4. I wouldn't mind being 5'7
Bostonian Newyorker I hope your a girl
@@vy2255 nope
@@McdonaldsInFallujah yeah man you might as well get surgery
Me 2 I’m 19 and I’m 5’5 I would enjoy being 5’7 as well
Im 5'7 and love shorter guys in a guy btw
where can I get the doctor's Information?
Whatever gives you more confidence/improves your mental health and just makes you feel better about yourself, im all for it. But this is absolutely ludicrous 😮 thats some extreme surgery and pain. Better save up for rehab also after you get addicted to pain pills 😂 im kidding (be careful though fr) but yeah, if that's what you want, go for it!
This surgery is for people suffering from extreme dwarfism. That guy was already tall and 2inches isn’t even a lot for the amount of money and pain. Coming from a 6’6 person being tall isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Yes being tall is a privilege I'm 6"2 and I love it
U must not play sports
being 6'6 might not be all that fun. not being 5'6 would be.
I’m 5’11 I want to be 6’2
damn, I may not be an adult, on,y like 12 years old at 5’6 but still I’m damn taller than most people in my class. I don’t see a point in growing taller or being shorter
then she starts wearing heels and he has to lengthen his lower legs as well!
😂
Yup! There’s a supplemental procedure to this one where they place additional rods in your shins and it’ll give you another 2 inches, so he could end up being 6 feet.
Revisiting this when it is less painful and expensive
when they make the patient press the button..... well you did it lol
Just wait until something goes haywire then he’ll lose his license
Why? This procedure has been being done for a very long time. Even children get it.
samuraioj ok ? But anything that’s supposedly good to be true isn’t really a good thing just wait someone will have an issue either sue him or a bunch of complaints then he’ll either won’t pay them back or probably move to a different side of the world it happens . Maybe not now cuz everyone is on the hype train but it will
@@b_side8669 your just making a baseless assertion. It's been done for a very long time and your just doubling up despite how little sence that makes. But let me guess. It's TRUE to you right lol
@@b_side8669 plus your on here saying dumb stuff that makes people's family lose respect for them, just watch as your life crumbles and your family decide not to be around plus you'll lose your job from the depression.....just watch it'll happen
Do you see how fun that sounds
6 feet tall with short arms. He's going to look like a T-Rex.

Woops. Guess he'll be getting arm lengthening implants next. Fool.
As a 6,2 man. "look what they need to mimic just a fraction of our power".
The bone breaking really effected me and had my covering my face and shivering
Imagine going through gruesome surgery and rehabilitation just to be 2-4 inches taller.. Sounds quite unnecessary.
I remember when the world went crazy.
Dude you get to sleep and feel not the pain
@@riku2258 Dude you're gonna feel that 3 months of rehab
@@riku2258 they legit mechanically stretch your leg bones imagine that dude for 3 months it would be so painful
He only got 1" of height
Dont be insecure and let him be taller. It wasnt your money that was used
exactly, it was unnecessary BUT ITS HIS CHOICE and he wants to be happy
@@elizabethknightly2431 It seems pretty damn necessary to me.. Most women aren't attracted to short men.
Insecure isn't the right term to be used other than people who agree with this because feeling short is actually being insecure and low self esteem.
@@GuardianTiger he feel shot because he didn't like his stature.

he dont need surgery, he needs self esteem 🥴

He was probably bullied for being short all his life. Maybe that extra few inches will give him the self esteem he needs
