@@cintygee im crossing my fingers I’m really missing cruising my last one was December 2019 on Rcl voyager of the seas I’ve done 5 cruises and i had a 6th booked for December 2020 which was canceled theirs nothing quite like cruising it more relaxed then a land holiday and cheaper overall.
I was on her back in July 2019 for a cruise to Queensland and I loved her had a great time on there and they made me feel at home on there she is a beauty too it brings back memories watching this video. You need a cruise on Explorer she is amazing
So excited that the ship will be back in Australia again! Dipping our toes in and doing the 3 night Sydney comedy cruise 22 July 22 It looks beautiful and my son’s first cruise 🚢
One of my favourite things to do on boarding day is grab a cocktail, and then explore every corner of the ship! Usually requires a cocktail top up 😆 She’s a beautiful ship, I’m sure you’ll have a great time.
Tina Swarovski Yes we are booked on it BUT I seriously doubt that it will go ahead now Man I just want to get on a ship sail away out of this current environment All I hear lately is Virus Virus Birus we’ve been working incredibly long hours for the past 7 months I so need to just get away and do nothing BUT our Prime Minister has said no cruise ships go at least 18 months Life Sucks at present
@@maddisonnsw5745 P&O advertise as Fun Ships, and they are, but by and large you are the one making the fun. Princess are more expensive, but they are entertaining you more
That depends on the age range - if you let me know how old the kids will be when the cruise departs, I can let you know which club you’d be part of and the hours.
@@oph3liaax 3 will fall into the Turtle Cove group and 9 into the Shark Shack both of which are open 9-12 and 2-10:30 on sea days and 9-2 (limited numbers) and 2-10:30 on port days. Hope that helps 😊
Just came off the aria comedy cruise loved every minute of it 👌 but just seeing this has wet my appetite for a cruise on this majestic beauty 😎 well done p&o your staff are the best always going out their way to make your stay comfortable and fun just some of the guests need to have better respect for them ! Keep it up
I love the explorer. In June I am going to Dark Mofo and looking forward to be back on board. I think the ship has a very tasteful design. I have just been on Voyager of the Seas and loved it too but there were elements that were missing - like the Blue Room and the spacious lido deck on explorer. Thank you I enjoyed your video
Thanks for leaving a comment, so glad you enjoyed the video. Pacific Explorer is beautiful, I think P&O have done a terrific job modernising the ship and giving it a distinctly on-trend feel in the design onboard. Enjoy your upcoming cruise!
It’s cool to see the ship before the refurbishment. Do you have any idea when the next dry dock will be? Also, do you think that she will be retired soon because that would be so sad 😢.
I sailed on Sea Princess in December 2017 to new Zealand , and Pacific Explorer in June 2018 , I wasn't a fan of the changes P&O made, the Explorer is tacky in comparison to her sister. But I suppose they are aiming for a different market.
Samuel Maltry Yes you’re absolutely right in that the Princess customer is quite different to the P&O customer. The design elements in the public spaces are certainly a big departure from Princess. I look forward to seeing how the ex Golden Princess comes together as the Pacific Adventure later this year. In the meantime, it’s fantastic that we have so much choice in cruising from Australia these days. Rewind ten/fifteen years ago and we had a much smaller range of ships to choose from. I always enjoy trying something new but like you, I sometimes prefer the old.
Just curious if you're a smoker? I'm wanting to know what the smoking areas are like, have just hopped off Aria & they were very disappointing. whereas on Royal Caribbean are great, not locked away from whats available/going on, on the the ship
Hi Donna, I’m not a smoker so can’t comment unfortunately as I didn’t pay particularly close attention to the smoking areas on this ship tour! Sorry about that, I’m hoping to get back onboard in the next couple of months to check her out again and I’ll be sure to keep an eye out.
Hope you have a fantastic first cruise! Pacific Explorer is wheelchair accessible, there are lifts that allow you to access each deck, and to the best of my knowledge there is clear access across all decks, through doorways and into the dining areas/lounges.
Archie Graff the pool will have a closing time, but it’s usually a decent hour. I’ve seen them close around 9pm or so. Just keep an eye out in the onboard newsletter, as that will list the hours. And enjoy your cruise! 🥳
Hi Robert. I was onboard as a ship inspection guest so didn’t get to sample the entertainment, but by all accounts P&O do put on a great entertainment schedule.
Sorry friend but when she was the Golden Princess she weighed 112,000 Tons She was a much clasier ship back then, My wife and I sailed on Her back in 2016
Hey Nicholas. Thanks for watching! The Pacific Explorer was the Dawn Princess and her gross tonnage is approximately 77,000 tonnes. The Golden Princess will be transformed into the Pacific Adventure later this year and is a completely different class of ship, being part of the Grand Class. Pacific Explorer/Dawn Princess is part of the Sun Class of ships and you can learn more about them by watching my other video here: czcams.com/video/arXyue1Q8oI/video.html
Have booked a 2022 cruise on this Ship. Here's hoping things have returned to normal by then.
🤞🏼 hopefully by mid/late next year things have returned to some form of normality - so 2022 should be fine. She’s a beautiful ship!
Yes me too! Heres hoping 🤞

Excellent! Check back in June, as I’ll have an updated Pacific Explorer tour and more content from my cruise onboard at the end of May.
