    Tonal balance of the 12.1 is nicer, imo. With certain songs the bass on the 12.1 is better detailed (controlled?) and voices are more natural. My vote goes to the 12.1's.

    12.1s have less of a mid-bass bump, which makes the speaker seem closer to neutral, while the Q150s are warmer.

    Diamond 12.1 is nicer. I can see that most obviously in the Seasons and Acoustic Guitar tracks. Thanks for the video, as always.

    12.1 sounds more balanced and natural

    The KEF is more expensive than the 12.2 and given the price of the 12.1 it is a no brainer. If you can afford the Q150, you can afford the 12.2 which will shit on the Q150.

      Kef are regularly $300. Shit on that retard...

    Both are great for their price.

    Nice work! 12.1 clearly better for my ears.

    I own 12.1s and can tell you, these recordings do NOT sound like how they sound in person playing back through my own speakers. So this is a nice experiment, but not even close to reality of how they will sound LIVE in a room............

    Its as if someone opens the door when the kefs are on. Not as easy on the ears but more engaging.

    very very similar sounding
    on that note, i will get the Diamond!!!

    They sound very similar. I like Q150 more because it's clearer and more revealing.

    Both very close. Warf has a little fuller bass with the heavy rock. Kef has a touch clearer upper mids. Wharfs are 400pr while kef 150s cost 600pr... so wharfdale 12.1 is the winner to me.

    Maybe this amp makes everything sound the same? Well, not exactly.
    The Q150 still has a brighter and more revealing midrange than the 12.1. The KEF particularly, but maybe both seem to have better bass than in some of your other demos with different amps. Could be the acoustic treatment too,
    but I think the AXA35 has a way of making speakers sound quite tight and controled throughout the range, even if it' isn't the most dynamic or have the liveliest mids.

      Well, I guess that's the last thing we want, an amp that brings out the best in every speaker it's paired with, and makes them all sound better. Maybe I'm weird, but an amp with those characteristics is the amp I want

      @@DougMen1 I'm not really disagreeing with that.

      I have the 35 in my living room and my Arcam SA10 in my bedroom, the 35 comes fairly close to the Arcam, it's a great amp at $350.
      BTW, while deciding between my Arcam and Rotel A11 Tribute, I find the 35 sounded better than the Rotel.

    • @williammiebach1798
      @williammiebach1798 Před 2 lety

      @@thomasward00 I'm not surprised it beats the Cambridge or the Rotel by at least a bit. The Arcam integrateds I've heard demo's of have sounded very clean and musical. Equal at least in definition to my NAD seperates, but maybe not quite as rich sounding.

    • @williammiebach1798
      @williammiebach1798 Před 2 lety

      ...and I'm not that surprised the AXA35 sounded better than the Rotel either. I think it's more balanced and musical than most of the current NAD integrateds too. Either the class A/B's or the D's.

      In real life they sound VERY neutral and quite detailed. The limit is the recordings for sure.
