Good quarterly results from IAG this week, with all of their airlines profitable after a good summer.
Looking ahead a month, I see I could get a return ticket with Vueling on this route for just £25! Or even cheaper with Ryanair - but Vueling would get the gig.
Perhaps IAG did so well bc BA just restarted full and proper meal service in Club World YESTERDAY! 😂 Absolutely insane what some airlines are still doing to justify Covid-era cost cuts. Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻

“Teen solo traveler” is not something you hear everyday 😉 But I too started traveling solo when I was 17. I still think it’s the best way to travel. Ironically Barcelona was my first solo international trip (besides Montreal) when I was 18. Have returned many times and it will forever be one of my favorite cities on earth.

For completeness only, IAG now owns 100% of Iberia and 97% of Vueling. 27 years ago I first did this flight on a noisy rumbling Aviaco DC-9 where the stewardesses wore leather gloves to avoid ink marks from the carbon boarding passes. Best of all smoking was still allowed on the flight with free ciggies offered in Biz class.
The return flight full of UK nightclubbers straight from the dance floor on their way home was a frightening sight. Direct UK low cost Ibiza flights were less common in the mid 90s so a BCN transit was required. Glory days! 🎉

Vueling is a C+ airline, with room for improvement. Firstly, if not for the lead flight attendant's excellent professionalism and correcting his rather rude "underling/charge" flight attendant, I'd not have gotten the privilege to pay for a bite to eat. So bravo to the lead flight attendant who made a great presentation on behalf of Vueling and F for his coworker/charge who was curt and said "we already passed through with the trolley"; I'd chalk this rude behavior up to a real lack of experience. However, the worst part of the Vueling experience was not in-flight but rather at the baggage carousel. The London Gatwick bags were sent to carousel 11 at Barcelona. I and another passenger, a young woman as well as a family of five, along with others from that flight, waited and waited and waited for our luggage. To make a long story short, and after several interactions with Vueling Lost & Found adjacent to carousel 3, as well as an airport attendant, and after being told "just wait; more is coming..", I spotted my luggage at a distant carousel, not labeled London Gatwick, and the others who, from my flight also missing their luggage, the young woman and the family of five, found their luggage at the same distant carousel. This was 3.5 to 4 hours after landing and only because by chance I spotted my luggage at the wrong carousel! Had I not spotted it, we'd all have been at the airport even longer than than the 4 hours that day. So will I fly Vueling again: doubtful...

Half of me wants to say “flying, no matter how, is great!”… the other half wants to stay as far away from Frontier (and Spirit) as possible 😂
@@tfft I have never flown Spirit but Frontier’s prices out of PHX have been super cheap and as long as you take the earlier flight in the morning no delays. Twice delayed out of LAS on a 12:37 pm flight.

How can you dare to make such a positive review based on just one trip? Even with this horrible airline, if you travel 5 times, you might have quite happy experience for 4 of them. When you suffered once, you would know how evil are they!
Oh my god, the nerve of me reporting exactly what happened on my trip, right?! I should totally bad mouth the airline instead since something bad *could* happen on my 34th flight with them. Silly me!
