  • As Vladimir Putin visits China for the second time in just over six months, he has one clear goal: to make sure President Xi Jinping continues to support the Russian war economy.
In other words, that China keeps buying Russian oil and in turn exports goods that keep both the Russian population and its military going.
DW Business speaks with Fraser Howie, co-author of three books on China and a close watcher of the country's economy.

Japan is ahead of China in the population decline and stand to have solved the problem earlier than China will. China has not yet seen the worst of their problems due to the population decline yet. Perhaps they don't even need to fix their housing crisis issue because it could all just go away if China produces another lab-born pandemic in order to curve their own population. Would be a benefit to the CCP power and cutting their own population to keep some people in power and rich is something the CCP is used to doing for many decades now. It is unfortunate being under CCP and of course the CCP will export their problems to the rest of the world, first with their neighbors, like Taiwan, SK, Japan, Russia, etc.

Why does the dude sound like an angry robot? China trading with Russia is just an opportunistic. The West are raising sanction, complaining about overcapacity, derisk/decouple.... so what do you do with your goods? You sell to the country that doesnt complain. Plus buying anything on a discount is just a great move. Give me a coupon for the next gas station and I make sure I bring extra containers for the fill up. lol. What is western repression China has benefitted from this trade more than anyone in the world good example why global economy works for development, which is a good sign for the global economy for as living standards raise in the countries of development can the focus of development shift to other target countries of development and create a cycle of mutual benefit and development across the world, this might be the only working only way to raise the living standards in the world across the board in time, which can even work. A lot of optimism can be had for the global economy as it can work well, but of course the human tendency of senseless fighting, must be overcome first it to work in practice not much improvements on this department can be seen as each side still yet after so many mistakes in human history still must go through their story lines first before even being aware of the mistakes that caused the event and eventually to reconcile with them.

China may be interested in Siberia because part of Manchuria is ceded to Russia, but most Chinese don't want to live there. Even though some Chinese farmers moved to Primorsky Krai to work there, Northeast China (inner Manchu) remains the region with the largest population loss in China. In fact, even the indigenous Manchu left there owing to the awful weather. For instance, the famous whistleblower - Li Wenliang was born in Northeast China as a Manchus but worked and lived in Central China.

Lets take a look at one recent situation in the west. Last year in France the goverment decided to raise retirement age. After that the protests erupted and milions of people came to the streets breaking stores, lighting fires, commiting violent crimes, getting hurt etc. So clearly the people have spoken loud and clear, they didnt want the retirement age to get raised which should be respected in a democracy like France, but what happened? At the end retirement age was raised. Now lets say that goverment in China decides to do the similar thing, what happens? There are no protests because people cant protest but also there is no violence, no people getting hurt, no stores getting broken, no fires on the streets and in the end result is the same as in France, people in power do what they want despite what the rest of population want. The moral of the story? Western countries created this illusion to make people think that they have power even though they have none. In countries like China and Russia its all the same, only difference is that people in power in those two countries are at least honest and they tell you where your freedom begins and where it ends, in the west they lie to you.

Russia, a major power, is self sufficient in energy, food, minerals, commodities & all types of military hardware. China is deficient in energy, food, commodities & advanced military hardware which Russia can provide. Russia needs consumer & electronic goods which China provides. Moreover, Russian energy supplies to China bypass Malacca Strait choke point providing energy security to China. Russia also provides strategic support & support as P5 member in the UN. That makes both the countries perfectly complementary to each other's mutual interest.
The biggest Biden blunder of the US in blocking sovereign Russian dollar reserves & SWIFT denial has further helped both countries to trade in Yuan dumping US dollar as trade between both countries are huge but mutually balanced.
Both the countries are in a good position to bring alternate world order free from dollar terrorism. A multipolar world with multipolar trade, swap currency trades, multi currency trade, multiple economic alignments, fragmentation of Internet & messaging system is likely to take shape in not too distant future. The process has just begun.

As i see it China and the Russian Federation came up with a strategy years ago to exhaust and undermine US dominance
because they understood that prosperity and peaceful development wasnt plannend for them in the US if they reach a certain
threshold of power and influence. They also understood that both nations on their own would not be able to weather the storm.
And of course India also plays a important role in this. India plays the neutrality card, but basicly it is fully on board with the
strategy. All three nations have suffered bitterly under western rule and they havent forgotten this for a sec. Its now payback time.

China is building an imperial fleet with ports all over the world to project power and gain influence. If we want to balance the power we need to start building the fleet on our own (mean EU). China, is the biggest beneficiary of the Ukrainian conflict and also benefits from the war in Gaza as the SAR is turning against west. They are aiming to all traiding nodes -> Taiwan strait, Palk strait, New Caledonia, Cape of Good Fortune, Hormuz , Suez ( Egypt vs Israel). There are many leverages that the US and Europe have over China, which can impact its foreign and domestic policies such as imposing primary and secondary sanctions, raising tariffs on all Chinese-made products, increasing restrictions on its lucrative products such as EVs and other electronic products, but the Number One Important Leverage of the collective West has over China is Foreign Investments. If the West starts to pull its investments out of China, the Chinese government will be very attentive to its demand since China's current economic conditions are in bad shape; thus, they don't want to become worse, which can cause social unrest.
