I really hope Ruud wins this title, he needs the confidence and desperately needs a title that is not a 250 😭
I begin to dissapoint him, dont know if he can win tsitsipas this time. If Lajovic sails into the final, and Ruud still loses this time, then he's a disgrace to his career high ranking

Casper has already experienced losing a slam that was right there for him and arguably got better afterwards, that’s why I wouldn’t consider him to be mentally vulnerable
The thing is that the Norwegian might just be a little one-dimensional with his game
Tsitsipas, on the other hand, can operate in different play styles
This is why the tomorrow’s match will most likely be similar to their meeting 6 days ago
Etcheverry played very well in the first set, but Ruud showed why he's a top 10!
He didn't let his set point slip away, and won mentally after that! 👏🧠🎾I hope he wins bigger titles now in the future!!

The resolution, tenacity and desire always enable Ruud to attain the glories in each clash. It was really an exceptional performance which was delivered by Norwegian tennis competitor. It denotes the quality and personal traits of Casper Ruud.
Surely it's his time to finally get a big title like a 500 here. Even against Tsitsipas, who hasn't looked great all week but survived with the aura of the winning momentum.
As a Ruud fan, I don't wanna jinx anything but we all hope
With Alcaraz constantly battling injuries and Thiem and Djokovic out of the picture, Ruud has serious potential to take over Rafa's clay court prowess and dominate the clay season. Tsitsipas too, but it all depends on his fickle one handed BH...it blows super hot or cold depending on the season.
This is Ruud’s best shot this year I’d say.
He’s beaten Djokovic finally, got an even h2h with Tsitsipas, who is very hit and miss with that backhand like you say, and Rafa isn’t looking particularly promising for much success. Ruud’s got a lot of experience having successful runs, all he’s gotta do is learn to finish the job, and he’ll be set.

This is the year of payback and retribution (karma for the spiritually oriented).
Sinner after years of bad luck and close calls, finally got his due at the AO.
Tsitsipas and Ruud, after years of getting bullied and pummeled by Djokovic and Nadal, especially on the clay front, are getting their due.
And all three have put in tonnes of hard work.
If karmic retribution is true, it's going to be Ruud who will be lifting the trophy tomorrow, and possibly we are seeing the two French Open' 24 finalists also play.
Ruud really wants this. I hope it’s his time to win the title.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like Ruud's improved BH and his confidence to send it DTL, gives him more opportunity & versatility to win points?
Ruud i know my idol Rafael Nadal has torchered me badly on clay, so let me atleast take away something from that and mimic his grunting style. Looks like it's paying off.

I got laughed at on the highlights of the Monte Carlo semi for saying I could see Ruud nicking a French Open at some point in his career but I'll say it again. He may need a bit of luck with the draw but if a couple of the favourites go out then he is a player who could absolutely capitalise at the French.
It's very much possible. No Rafa and the other potential challengers Djokovic and Thiem are in decline. Alcaraz is constantly injuring himself.
@@adisuryashakthi5744 yeah, it's the Slam that is looking the most open (until Novak comes and wins it again haha). There's a few who could capitalise and Ruud is one of them.

Here’s hoping nice guy & honorary Spaniard, Casper, takes the whole thing. He really needs to get over the 250 hump. And nowhere better than in his second home. His game is looking good, his hitting is clean and has some added pep on both sides.
If it's a repeat of MC Final (which is very likely to happen), i got no clue who's got the upper hand. It will be two big-time losers of ATP 500 events, considering that both have been top-3 in the world. Tsitsipas is 0-9 in finals, which is kinda crazy. He had the edge over Ruud in MC cos it's "his tournament" and he had 3 big titles to Ruud's 0. Now, Ruud seems like the slight favorite! He's been playing better than Stef in Barcelona. Stef seems exhausted! First thing's first though: Stef has to get to that final and it will be very hard, if he doesn't play better.

Of course Ruud plays well up until the final. He’ll lose it though sadly. Lately I was looking through Ruuds atp history and he has an abysmal record in finals. The choking was already a thing when he played futures and challengers 10-8 years ago.

No way, Nadal is very very different including the forehand grip - Nadal uses a hybrid of eastern and semi western (Neo eastern forehand grip) and Ruud a hybrid of western and semi western (Neo western forehand grip).
Styles are very different too.
