Also from thr looks of it the charge was nit to pin the Sojourn but to catch up as he does cancel it once he's up the stairs. So he used it for mobility.

@@Sincereh Suzu has a small boop effect, so you can actually displace enemies out of position and even get environmentals with it. Rewatch that part and you'll see that the suzu displaced Yeatle, so he died along with Bowie lol

Something to note: he used ALL of his abilities (that includes just swinging the hammer normally) with such blinding confidence, and that's why he's rank 1. He probably charged into a wall like 10 times, but that's because he's fishing for absolutely nuts pins. He had to slam around the corner before he could even confirm he'd hit anyone. Absolutely wild.

4:02 I know it looks weird, but this is how Rocket Hammer works. He saw Tracer using Blink, so he charged, canceled, and immediately started swinging without looking at her.
If he looked at her, she could Blink again as soon as the hammer started to swing. You can also double-tap a Tracer in a fraction of a second doing this trick.
Let's say Tracer is on the left side. You can swing your hammer from right to left and adjust your camera so that your hammer hits her when the animation ends. If you keep pressing LMB, the hammer will swing from left to right. If you time your swings perfectly, you'll hit her at the end of the right-left animation and again when the left-right animation begins.

Rein's hammer has a rectangle hitbox. It's wider on the sides. You can manipulate it by the way you're looking when you swing. That's how he got the Tracer.

the fact that this is a rank one player is wild. I've seen Gold Reins play the exact same way in videos

Rein's not mechanically intense, so even golds know his kit and can use it, which makes it seem like there isn't a difference; The difference between a rank 1 rein and a gold rein comes down to decision making. When to take cover, when to go for pins, where you'll end up after the pins, saving / using shatter, etc

lol i love how he says no way on doing those pins... lol i do that a lot as a plat rein lol. the sounds for corners and his hitbox for charge is pretty big. its very fun and his hammer hits like 180 degrees when u swing mouse as u swing in direction. love it this guy is good.

That weird looking hit on the tracer was hit box manipulation of the hammer swing. You can do the same thing with the quick melee of every hero
5:36 As someone who mains Rein, lots of players try to aim his body, the cross hair is still active, use that.
He played Rein like a DPS because you needed to in Season 2. You had to play Pin Rein for him to be viable. Makes for a unstable frontline but it worked.

ngl, i've been strugling against rein charges, like for example when i chager with brig to stop his, some times when i do it, i saw the little charge, but somehow rein still pins me. and when i check out his pov, my character seems like she's not doing anything and just recieveng the charge like crazy.
finally i see i high elo tank charging often into a corner(with intention to go around of course) never seen flats do it, i guess his technique is just too good,but i knew it couldnt be just me

It's hard to look good with Rein, cause he doesnt aim and is all about positioning/timing.
As a rein main, sometimes I just kinda guess if somebody gonna come around a corner, or if I see a group I feel like I gotta catch one of them right 😂
He's probably stopping his charge early which is why it might looks like he's laggy or dosnt look right , very noticeable on the tracer kill around the corner

Lot of those charge hits are very calculated imho, predicting someone will/has to go to x spot because of logic or damage and he goes for that spot not where the player is at currently. The wall hitting, I dunno what the hell that was :P

Rein pin is a gamble all the way. Every pin is a "hope for the best". I'll pin directly at someone and they'll bounce off ... or pin and randomly grab someone 5 feet away. There are times when I know a pin will be game changing, but just bounce away and flip the game.
