Louis Vuitton Vintage Petit Noe Repair

  • My third repair from LV! Complete vachetta replacement. The item was not in bad shape before with the exception of the drawstring pull, water marks to the side strip and the top was the worst with cracking and peeling.
    My advice is not to spend over $300 and get something used where the canvas is good but you know you’re replacing the leather. I spent $600 on the vintage bag because it was in great shape but shortly after purchase and cleaning I had issues with the dry leather!

    Took my Neo into 𝑳𝑽 last Tuesday for repairs, only the top trim. They said 𝙏𝙃𝙍𝙀𝙀 𝙈𝙊𝙉𝙏𝙃𝙎!! 😭 I realised that she's my favourite bag. But now, it's making carry my other vintage 𝑳𝑽 bags and I'm falling in ❤ all over again.... Every silver lining

    She is a beauty! I purchased a vintage petit noe and had the top binding and drawstring replaced too! And I don't mind the two-toned vachetta :) You will love your new bag, enjoy!

    Beautiful bag! Look down the side crease/stitch to see if they added a date code where the original one used to be.

    Beautiful bag! I got mine at $440 with beautiful honey patina leather! I am so in love with my Petite Noe! I am planning to have my Noe GM vachetta replace soon. It’s much older than my petite noe. I agree with you that the vintage canvas is way more beautiful than the new ones.❤️

    Beautiful!!! I just received my vintage petite noe repaired in the mail. I spent close to what a new bag would in all, but as you said I wanted the vintage bag because I didn’t like the leather strip on the bottom of the bag. I also heard that vintage had better quality canvas. I also was sad about losing my date code, but that’s okay.

    Thanks for sharing! Very informative video. I bought a vintage petit noe and I will have all vachetta replaced at a local restoration shop and I requested them to add the strip that you mentioned on the bottom part of the bag. I actually don't have a choice because there is a hole in the lower part of the monogram and I just have to cover it up to avoid it getting bigger. I am excited about how it would look.

    Newer canvas is definitely a lower quality. I just sent mine in. It’s my second bag I had sent in to lv for repairs and hopefully this one’s comes back as pretty as my petite bucket . The girl told me in the store I’d have to wait till January!!! I doubt that very much though.

    Love the video! I am in the process of sending my vintage petit noe for a full vacchetta replacement. Did you send in your strap along with the bag? I want a new strap for the bag which is why I asked for a full vacchetta replacement, but the strap that it currently has is a good honey petina and I’d like to use it for another bag. Let me know!

    • @nekolassa
      @nekolassa  Před 2 lety +1

      I sent the entire bag! Good question- I’m not sure if your price is more if the strap is missing. If you are sending directly maybe email and ask if the strap is missing is the price the same. I wouldn’t offer that you are keeping the strap! Let me know what the outcome is!

    She is gorge! I bought a vintage Noe GM back in 2018 for $390 on eBay and I did what you did with baby wipes. The trim totally flaked off and the side trims cracked but I knew that it would cost a lot to get it replaced due to being quoted $660 for replacing the lining of my vintage Sac Platt and that’s just for the lining not vachetta. Anyway I was prepared for the $660 to replaced the lining of my Sac Platt this year but this time I took it to LV inside Bloomingdale’s and to my surprise she quoted me half of what was quoted years before. Then I took my vintage Noe to get a quote for the trim and string to be replaced but she was like the color would be different so would you like to get a quote for all the vachetta to be replaced? Curious, I said sure. She came back with a breakdown of pricing then she said to replace all the vachetta it’ll be $330. I almost fainted.😂 so now they are both in for repairs and once they got sent out I received a text letting me know that the repair center received my items and another text from same SA letting me know that they began the repair which was like a total of a week n half since I dropped it off. Now hopefully it’ll be done and ready for me to pick up before X’mas instead of the estimated date of completion of second week of Jan. Also, at the LV store where I originally got a quote they were asking me so much questions about how I acquired the bag. I said it was my Aunt and then they were trying to look for her info. After 15 mins questioning they finally took it to the back to assess vs this year at LV in Bloomingdale’s no questions asked. So I will be taking my preloved vintage bags to LV Bloomingdale’s to get repaired. They aren’t strict about repairing bags not on your account, cheaper and communication about what’s going on with the repair is fantastic. You can also track service progress on LV account. Anyway, hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours.

    Did they give you a hard time when you went in to replace the leather? Because they have told me since a “bag” wasn’t on my profile I can’t have it repaired 😩. How did you inquire your bag to be repaired. Did you just walk in and say “hey I need to have my bag repaired “

    • @nekolassa
      @nekolassa  Před 2 lety +1

      They shouldn’t have given you a hard time and what I found is since I have a profile it was easier- sounds like you too have a profile…. Go through the LV app - it’s easier and less hassle. Take photos, submit the repair and viola they’ll send you a label to ship it! What does it matter who bought it?! It’s LV and you’re paying for the repair - they’re ridiculous sometimes.’

  • @crystalpcullen
    @crystalpcullen Před 2 lety +1

    If they give you a hard time fixing your bag you can take it to a cobbler that’ll fix all vintage bags shoes etc etc the only thing if you go to a cobbler first for any repairs LV won’t touch the bag after or on any third party repairs done
