    I think the ancient hero is Mineru's descendant, carrying on the spirit ability, and is Link's ancestor. this is why Link has always been able to see and hear spirits that no one else can. the goddess statues, the kokiri/koroks, the dragons, ghosts. he can see it all when very few others can. like, we know Zelda can see the koroks and speak to the deku tree, but I don't think she could hear the statues, but Link always could. and maybe it's just cause he's Hylia's chosen knight, but if one of the past heroes was what looks like a Zonai, maybe it's a bit of both.

    • @Moon-Vixen
      @Moon-Vixen Před 8 měsíci +4

      @@_Just_Another_Guy LMAO omg no, that's not how incest works, like at all😂it's so far back in history it doesn't even matter.
      not to preach at you, but let me put this into perspective: every single dog breed came from a single wolf's mutated litter. but we don't think of every single dog, with ALL their crazy variations, as inbred or related to every single other dog in the world/to have ever existed. but by that logic, no dog to ever exist has ever not been inbred/the result of incest beyond that first litter of pups.
      same with blue eyes. it's a recessive gene that can be traced back to a single man who's gene mutated, who then passed it onto all his children, none of whom had blue eyes. it wasn't until the gene spread enough across the population that couples began seeing blue eyed children, which could only exist because both parents had to have that gene, and to have that gene, both have to be related to that *one* original man. but no one looks at someone with blue eyes and thinks that person is inbred/the result of incest, just inherently.
      *because it's so far back in the family tree that it's no longer incest*
      we don't know exactly how far back Mineru, Rauru, and Sonia are, but the war of 10,000 years ago alone is 500 generations. first Mr. Blue Eyes was only 7,000 years ago, a cave man from Spain. every single person with blue eyes is more closely genetically related than Link and Zelda in this theory. in fact, no person alive today can say every member of their family is that far separated genetically. you went to school with 2nd cousins and had no clue any of you were technically related. genealogists have held events where they invited hundreds of people all across the country, all of different races, just to announce to them that every single person in the room is 2nd cousins with each other, and not a single one of them had ever met. many came from families that as far as they knew, were all black/white/asian/ect and would never have guessed they would be related to someone different.
      if you want more info on what it actually means to be inbred, look up on here a video titled something like "how inbred is England's king?". it's not only fascinating, but will make all of this a lot more clear.

  • @fortherepublic1263
    @fortherepublic1263 Před 9 měsíci +80

    I think he was a descendant of Rauru. Sonia sensed a 'Blood connection' to Zelda, which means they had to have continued the bloodline. Given Ganondorf was already on Rauru's radar, he likely kept the boy hidden and before everything went south, had a trusted advisor/knight/somebody go into hiding with the kid. The red hair *could* have just been a side-effect of the interbreeding, but the Gerudo-like gem makes me believe that this hero has Gerudo lineage. Maybe Rauru Jr. married a Gerudo woman, and the Ancient Hero is their kid. It'd be cool if we got a Hyrule Warriors game going into detail on the 10,000 year ago Calamity.

    I have a personal headcannon that The Ancient Hero was a bit of a tech nerd.
    Since he is wearing the zonite armor, which boosts Zonai devices' efficiency. An ability that would be useless if he didn't use any form of Zonai-related tech. He was the hero during the golden age of Sheikah tech, but who is to say that he wasn't making his own hybrid devices?
    The idea of the Hero helping to build stuff is a fun concept. He could've provided the knowledge on how to make Vah Medoh fly and the idea of the shrines. He could've also helped develop the runes on the slate; it isn't hard to imagine the Magnesis rune being inspired by Ultrahand.
    The twist of the most animalistic-looking hero being the most science-loving hero is funny. It'd also be refreshing to have a hero who actually knows stuff.
    Additionally, it fits the hybrid theme too. The Zonai tech development skills + the Hylian heroes' battle skills = A hybrid hero who is a badass fighter and total tech nerd.
    I love the idea a little too much. Always a fan of fun twists.

    I'm, of course, talking about the princess in the tapestry, and we know she's a princess and the two not being related is because the legend of the tapestry states in Impa's cutscene
    "...by a warrior wielding the soul of a hero, and a princess who carries the blood of the Goddess..."
    Granted, Impa was retelling the legend, but if the AH was a child/decendent to Rauru and Sonia (AKA, the princesses brother), wouldn't it have instead said "by a prince wielding the soul of the hero" or "a princess who carries the blood of the Goddess, and her brother wielding the soul of a hero."
    Sure, you can argue that "The princess could have came from another land and was gonna marry the AH" but even then feels a bit of a stretch because, ones again, the AH would have had the title of "Prince" instead of "Warrior/Hero" in the legend.

      They have to fix the fact that the tapestry shows what we now know as the furry ancient hero, and a Zelda like figure, fighting Gannon that ended up turning into the calamity. It was different in botw where we were theorizing about why the ancient hero had red hair and green skin/clothes when the link In botw is associated with blue... Now we know it's this green skinned, red haired furry with DIGITIGRADE FEET (that detail is bothering me) I have a feeling it's gonna be a trilogy with a sequel/prequel with some time travel shenanigans. Maybe with link helping the ancient hero. And what I have a suspicion about is that a new race from typhlos ruins will be introduced with link helping and being the true hero, but this ancient "hero" takes the credit of something like that.
      Edit/add;
      Oooh! How about they pull the time travel BS and have link help this hero from a new race from the typhlos ruins, be the "hero" when it really was link helping behind the curtain, but at the same time, leads up to the heros race being wiped out, being the only option to finally end Gannon/gannondorf/calamity Gannon cycle once and for all??? That way it "kinda" closes the loop. That wouldn't make the ouroboros as the main symbol of totk, that would make sense with it Introducing the time paradox/cycle/loop. It would also go with what everyone has been saying with the whole blue=wisdom, green=courage, red=courage, cus it would take courage to wipe u and ur race and existence from the memory of the world , for the good of the world to end Gannon for good. Which would fit into why the typhlos ruins exist, but no one knows what they're for/from.

    My theory is that the ancient hero was a descendant from Rauru and Sonia, either direct, or slightly distant, since the calamity is most likely a product of an imprisoned Ganondorf, it's likely IMO that the ancient hero comes from a hybrid race of the last remaining Zonai (Rauru and Mineru) and early Hylians, like Sonia, even though there's no mentions of Sonia and Rauru's offspring in the game, for the royal bloodline to continue until TOTK's Zelda, they must have had some offspring, and most like it was a mix between pure Hylian, and Zonai-Hylian hybrids, from which the ancient hero eventually came, meaning that at some point the soul of the hero was tied directly to the royal family, until that bloodline either washed out, or the soul just chose to look for brave individuals wether or not they were royal.

    You know how we have OOT Rauru as the sage of light but now we also have a Zonai Rauru who fills a similar role in this game? I believe that King Rauru from totk is a reincarnation of Rauru from OOT (as we know, the curse of Demise doesn't only bring Link, Zelda and Ganon back, but several other recurring characters we've seen throughout the series) and maybe even Headmaster Gaepora from SS (a father figure to Zelda) the reason he's a Zonai now? Totk simply proves that characters who are part of the reincarnation cycle don't always have to look the same or be the same race as once before. I believe this is the same case with the ancient hero. He is a Link for sure, for only Link can wield the master sword. But he is the first Link we see who isn't a full on Hylian. I believe there had to have been other Zonai left in hiding besides Rauru and Mineru, otherwise his existence wouldn't be possible (the spirit of the hero is never directly related to the royal bloodline, so I don't believe he's a descendant of Rauru and Sonia or even Mineru) I'd like to think he did in fact come from the Zonai barbarians of Faron, who still remain mostly a mystery. I hope that turns out to be the case and this tribe finally gets expanded on more.

And they will all be brought back in a doomed cycle to constantly repeat itself. Again how exactly that works (whether it's bringing back their souls or they're just different individuals entirely set out to fulfill the same role) is up for debate and not too clear in the games. I guess I just personally interpreted it one way.
      Also even if we did wanna go entirely with the "soul" idea there's no way that would work with Mineru and Purah because throughout the game we see and interact with Mineru's ghost proving she has not reincarnated. The reason I think there's more basis for well, Rauru and Rauru being the same or at least similar characters meant to play the same part, is because they share the name. Awesome theory! I think the ancient hero was a zonai hylian and gerudo hybrid, and I’d say that Link is a descendant of that same ancient hero. The reason why is because Link’s original champion’s tunic has a gerudo design in the arm section, and the ancient hero has red hair similar to a gerudo. I’m guessing that he’s a male because gerudo can only exist if a gerudo has a child with a hylian and not a zonai. And because he was probably part hylian as well but overall more zonai than hylian and gerudo.

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 Před 9 měsíci

      That "Gerudo design" you mention actually belongs to the original Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time though so it's NOT something "of the Gerudo" considering we've _never_ seen ANY other Gerudo in the series wearing such leather gauntlets aside from Ganondorf himself. That aside it's highly unlikely for the Ancient Hero to have been a part Hylian-part Zonai-part Gerudo hybrid due to the now confirmed rule that there can only be ONE MALE ALIVE within the Gerudo race at all times until said male has died. Since Ganondorf is clearly alive during the Calamity from 10.000 years that automatically prevents the Ancient Hero to have ANY connection to the Gerudo as that contradicts the law established in Breath of the Wild regarding no males been born since Ganondorf's imprisonment.

As for the there can only be one male gerudo at a time rule, I’m saying that the ancient hero being a zonai might bypass that rule due to being a zonai, since he might not actually be part of the gerudo race but has red hair cuz maybe his mother was a gerudo. Like how the gerudo have children with hylians and the children are still 100% gerudo, maybe the ancient hero being a zonai inherited gerudo traits but wasn’t an actual full gerudo. There could be another explanation, but it might explain the sort of gerudo motif connection between Link and the ancient hero.

      @@liamruiz3196 If you mean the more pinkish leather gauntlets she wears on her arms then yes you are right although they look nothing like Ganondorf's which are the ones which the Hero of the Wild sports as his own. Ganondorf and Link are the _only_ characters to wear such specific red and blue ringed gauntlets making them stand out from the any other leather gauntlet seen in the series. Now as to the whole idea that the current Link has Gerudo ancestry i find that unlikely due to the simple fact that "Gerudo genes" are inherently predisposed to produce females as seen with ALL Gerudo seen in the series not to mention Hudson's daughter Mattison who, like her mother, was bound to be born a female member of the tribe. For Link to have "Gerudo genes" takes massive suspension of disbelief given the series track record of making clear that if a Hylian male mates with a Gerudo the result will _always_ birth a Gerudo until the current male (like Ganondorf) has been killed off. It's certainly an interesting idea worth considering for sure but seeing as the Lore is very clear on the matter it's very unlikely for this to ever be the case.

    The only thing that came to mind when I first unlocked this outfit, is that with the addition of the dozens of weapon types and various new characters, we potentially could get a new Hyrule Warriors that focuses on the first Calamity that Ancient Hero took part in. Maybe he was also the 8th Heroine s well. It would take place in an ancient, never before seen Hyrule (outside of the TotK flashbacks) and could include some of the Sages that survived the Imprisoning War. I mean, even one of the DLC updates for AoC included a playable Ancient Guardian. One that was far more capable of wiping the floor with anything that it comes in contact with. Which is interesting because it suggests that the ones we encountered in BotW were the weakest they've ever been. Probably due to Ganon's influence. I know AoC isn't technically canon, but Fujibayashi was the scenario supervisor of that project so in terms of the characters and details, aspects of that game could still be taken into account when piecing together BotW and TotK lore.
    In anycase, all this is just speculation and most likely amounts to absolutely nothing significant.

    I believe the hero from 10'000 years ago simply obtained three artifacts representing the boar, owl and dragon that caused the transformation at some point, which he probably needed to fight or to prove his wisdom, courage and power. Maybe the master sword at that time was bound to those artifacts so that Link had to collect them first to claim it. We could also assume that whoever built the three labyrinths might have played a role in Link's quest back then, since they call themselves like the three symbolic animals. Who knows, maybe that was the same hero that helped the seven gerudo heroines.
    All of this would make sense, the power of those artifacts could have been Link's titular powers of that era and it would mirror every introductive quest that many Links had to undergo to get the master sword or just to prove themselves. A game featuring that battle would be awesome as there would be many story elements to feature such as the building of the divine beasts, the four champions, the story of the boar, owl and dragon, the sheikah at their best , but at this point it would be mostly stuff we already know so they probably won't make it.

    Its possible that we are seeing the ancient hero after undergoing a transformation of sorts. The thing i think people missed when analyzing this hero is that aside from the abnormal physical characteristics he has, he also seems to have a gem in the center of his head, similarly to Ganondorf.
    In totk, after killing Sonia and taking her stone, Ganondorf starts to transform into a new form. And in this state his hair grows very long, his eye color and pupil size changes, he grows claws, and he grows some horns on top of that. All in all, he looks a lot like a Zonai, but his own version of such.
    We could being seeing something similar taking place with this hero after possibly absorbing another stone. This could explain why we cannot seem to definitively link him with any race precisely. Because this is most likely not his true form.
    We have seen through Ganondorf and Zelda that their hair color does not change upon undergoing their transformations. Therefore the ancient hero did have red hair and likely reddish brown skin as shown in the ancient mural. This means that the green skin and other physical traits are transformation changes, and do not reflect his base state, more than likely that of a Male gerudo. With the mural image, the red hair, and the gerudo jewelry....this seems to be the most likely conclusion

    I prefer Zelda Lore's idea that the Barbarian armor isn't Zonai in origin, and the Faron Green Stone is a Hylian effort to preserve Zonai architecture.
    What if, before Zelda became the Light Dragon, she warned the land about the Calamity, promptly the Shiekah's technological development in the first place? That'd explain why Hyrule was ready for the Calamity's emergence, having built the Divine Beasts in advance.
    What if the Ancient Hero was a unique clone, using Zonai, Gerudo, and Hylian dna? That doesn't explain where the tail came from, but Rauru had pretty long hair, so who knows. Maybe he and Mineru had concealed tails.
    I imagine the Ancient Hero's story would be similar to a combination of Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild. This incarnation of Link would be awoken by the Zelda of the era, in the Depths beneath the Great Plateau. There, Link would be granted the Shiekah Slate and allowed access to both the Runes AND Zonai Abilities.
    Properly equipped, Zelda would send Link to the Temples of Courage, Wisdom, and Power, so that he may wield the Master Sword, similar to Link to the Past.
    Upon the completion of each temple, Link would acquire one of the three pieces we see the Ancient Hero wearing, with the final obstacle being a Temple within the Korok Forest.
    With the Shiekah Technology, Hyrule is well defended, but Link was created and sent off on this quest because Zelda refused to take any chances. The only real dangers are within the Temples.
    But then, something goes wrong; the Divine Beasts and their people are attacked, fought so that the Divine Beasts may never find their pilots. Namely four Boss-level monsters are involved.
    The Gerudo Provinces, the Storm Temple, is assailed by an armored White Maned Lynel. A King Gleeok hovers over Lanayru. A Malice-corrupted Frox threatens Eldin, and an enormous Legion of Bokoblins swarm Hebra.
    Link frees the Regions of Hyrule and finds the Pilots for the Divine Beasts.
    Calamity Ganon erupts and is sealed away by Hyrule's collected efforts, brought about almost too late, but it is not the end. A villain lurks, one who unleashed Malice onto that Frox, a scientist who wishes to succeed and become the next Ganon.

    There's also a possibility that this is just the shape of the hero's soul representing his ferocity, wisdom and courage. The first link did have a balanced soul and transcended most mortals who touched the triforce. Also, transformations are a big trope in anime, and the current duology is heavily inspired by them, so it might be a SSJ4 Goku situation.

    ...tbh the red hair isnt the only thing tying the set to ganon.
    the forehead gem headpiece actually looks almost exactly like the one ganon had his secret stone in...
    maybe it was a bearer of a triforce of power? one that didnt turn out evil?
    ...heck maybe it might be something tied to ganons implied obsession with the zonai and their power.

    Got to say this outfit along with a lot of the new lore they introduced I was not a fan of, great game play but felt the lore introduced was very jarring with what’s came before, maybe I’m just too much of a traditionalist. Hopefully any DLC clears up some of the gaps in what we know now but I’m not so hopeful.

    It would be nice to have DLC that expanded further of the origins of this Ancient Hero of who they were and how they came to be, because its this one right here that has the biggest mysteries of them all and no reasonable explanation of where they came from, other than from the fact that they were recorded on ancient history of The Calamity of 10,000 years ago. Perhaps they are a child descendant of Rauru and Sonia, a secret child they kept hidden from public view who carried the bloodline of The Hero.

      ¿Why would the Hero be born as a member of the Royal Family? The track record does NOT add up considering _all_ the Zeldas and _all_ the Ganondorfs have been born as members of royalty within their respective races. This would be the most random addition to the Lore if the Ancient Hero just happens to be Royalty instead of a commoner like pretty much every incarnation of the Hero in the entire timeline _including_ his successor from the Era of the Wild. Whatever origins the Ancient Hero has i'm sure they have nothing to do with the Royal Family of Hyrule.

    There’s a ton of crazy things going on with the Ancient Hero’s appearance. I would have handwaved the Gerudo connection if it wasn’t for the gold jewelry sorrounding the head. Only the Gerudo use large gold hoops around their necks and ears!

    I'm not convinced that when they say "spirit of the hero" they are referring to the nonphysical part of a person, but rather those qualities regarded as forming the definitive elements in a parson's character.
    And as for the Ancient Hero's Aspect, I'm not convinced that he is the same as the one from the tapestry despite Impa calling out a similarity.
    The fact that he wears the Zonaite Armor and has the ancient Hylian body tatoos is enough to tell me that he's not the Tapestry Hero since the timing doesn't make any sense.

    It could also be possible that the Zonai possessed gene-splitting technology, so they could take DNA from all of the intelligent races of Hyrule & MAKE a hero who possessed an (artificial) ancestry to all of them.

    It's stated in Skyward Sword. Only Link can wield the Master Sword (Zelda as well because of blood.)
    Nothing is ever stated that the Hero Of Time has to be strictly Hylian. So it's likely our mysterious savor was infact named Link and was of mixed race. Potentially Hylian, Zonai and Gerudo? What if he was bred solely to defeat Ganondorf as a back up plan? Considering they literally built an army just to kill one person. How far would they go?
    Also, here's another thing I've always asked but could never answer. Why has Ganondorf never had children? Or more specifically, a son?
    We know for a fact the kind of person he is. He's very much like the real Ganghis Khan, who is estimated to have had, 1,000 to 3,000 offsprings.
    As someone as egomaniacal as Ganondorf. I'd imagine he'd want to continue his lineage. What are the chances of the Ancient Link being a decendant of the Demon King himself?
    The Gerudo people can only have 1 male born per rule right? But how far the line does that heredity go? What if it's a race of half Hylian and half Gerudo? Can they still have only 1 male? Hard to say but interesting to question.

    My theory is that the next game is gonna be The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Future. Being a prequel to breath of the wild and playing off BotW and TotK being like Zelda 1 and 2, while A Link to the Past was the prequel game in that trilogy. Not sure how the future element would play in, but a prequel game before/during the first calamity when Sheikah and Zonai technology flourished sounds very futuristic. I also can’t imagine the game developers doing something traditional in a traditional Hyrule again after BotW and TotK (or how they would even top those two games), so I feel like they need a game that has a very different distinct feel like a Wind Waker. And introducing the Triforce again is very likely, since A Link to the Past was the first game that really established the lore for the triforce (still think Zelda in TotK should’ve been brought back from Dragon to Human by Link touching/using the triforce and wishing for her to come back, would’ve made that part of TotK’s ending make more sense). Also a game focused around time/manipulating time would be a good opportunity to connect BotW/TotK to the rest of the timeline, if the timelines converge to BotW in the end (such as how Rito’s/Zoras co-exist and how there’s multiple things from the different timelines in BotW/TotK’s Hyrule)
