385 pieces, darn, the piece to price ratio for it will be $20, the same price for the LEGO Speed Champions single car sets for that exact price because the piece count for them is below 400 pieces and that’s a good price point

I have to say from what I can tell from your Thomas trains and the other guys Thomas trains, yours are superior as in they look more original and don’t have that blocky Red lining. You my friend are quite talented!!!
Great james, However i see other youtubers rws james they dint use gold and black as the lining like in the books they used blue for the lining and persinaoly i think blue lining is more rws james in my opinion besides that this was a fantastic build really well done

Wow! The way you did the leading wheels is brilliant. I was having a problem with wheels jamming in the track on my own 2-6-0 James-inspired model just yesterday. I ended up leaving the model a 4-4-0, but alas, not blue like Edward. Problem Solved! Thanks for sharing.

That's cool, I'd love to see your Thomas! I'm still deciding how I'd like to release additional instructions. I like to keep things free, but I also rely on my content to raise funds for new models. I'm waiting to see whether this round of new Lego videos can fulfill that purpose again, otherwise future instructions may cost a few bucks.

I'm surprised that there is not an official Lego thomas theme
There actually exists a part available in red to mimick the shaping of jam’s tender top. It was in a ninjago set a couple years back so it’s somewhat common.
Do you happen to have the part name or number? I'm aware of some inverted arch parts. There are reasons I went with the slopes due to the 1/2 stud offset, but I'm curious about the part you mentioned.
@@WoodenToby part number: 78666. It’s 3 studs tall, 1 stud wide, 2 studs long alike the current slopes.

Thanks, can't say I disagree on the rods. Unfortunately there isn't really another viable option without going for 3rd-party elements.

Edward and James in the Railway Series books (as well as real steam engines) have a gap there. I assume they added covers on the TV models to help hide the electronics and wires.

Is that the models fastest speed?
Yeah, the Circuit Cubes motor isn't very fast, but it's the only motor system small enough to fit within my engines. In the future, I'd like to have coaches and utility vans that I can motorize with Lego's Powered Up motor system for pulling trains, which would be much faster.
How did you make the tender wheels so they can go around corners?
The wheels are close enough together that they can do points and curves without any issues. If they were spaced any further apart, the middle axle would need to be able to move side-to-side, like on the tenders for my Gordon and Henry.
