Nice to see a big old Foden all the way from sunny 1986 still in business! Whatever those lads were paid for that recovery, they earned it!
Beauty isn’t it, hummin Cummins 💪🏼💪🏼💨💨
@@Dan23_7 More like a RR in that
sounded like a Rolls to me.
When i decided to buy a truck for container delivery, i wanted a Scania. But then i noticed that Fodens always did the shit work. Salting the roads in atrocious weather, heavy hauling other trucks out of ditches etc. so i bought one , a bit agricultural to drive, and likes its fuel. But never let me down. And in six years of ownership always got the job done.
Great trucks. As a kid I grew up around a fleet of Daf 2800's but always liked when I saw a Foden S out and about. Now i'm older and appreciate the different engines Cat, Cumnins etc I wish I was back in the 80's now to hear them more. There's a couple of Cummins and Cat engined ERF's and Foden's where I live in West Cornwall, think there's a Strato in Penzance too but not quite the abundance that it once was. You're a lucky chap to have a Foden as your daily drive would be great to see/hear it in action.
I loved my Foden , got it brand new in 1994 on an M registration.
Cummins 325 with a 13 speed RTO fuller box and Rockwell axle , totally bullet proof and went like a train and never broke down once !
Only gripe I had was the cable change. You couldn’t lubricate it and it became a bit heavy moving sideways across the H pattern . Replacement cables was the only option.
Proper recovery truck 😎
Heavy duty recovery for sure ..thanks for sharing Ben 👏🏻👏🏻
Great Drone work Ben! That Foden is a BEAST of a recovery truck! Flooding over in Cambs is impressive!
Modern tow trucks say "When I grow up I want to be a foden!"
Foden built for tank recovery - no messing about !
You wouldn't use the Foden for tank recy. The winch is rated at 25 tonne, snatched to 50 tonne. The Challenger Recy tank winch is 50 tonne, snatched to 100 tonne. An out of control tank would over whelm the Foden.
7:15 the bentley driver saw guy with camera and was like nope nope nope
Welney is an odd place at the best of times - very remote. Excellent drone footage!
Those 3 guys standing right next to the winch cable while it is under load 😬😬
Maybe they was waiting for a hair cut lol
Foden is a beast, especially seeing what Mr Hewes uses his for 💪🏻
It not only identifies as one, it is one.
Steer clear of Welney wash in winter !
An alternative to a written resignation by the driver! Great recovery
Brilliant video dude
Cheers man, props to you for the drone footage 👌🏼
That Audi e-tron is electric and it stopped... Must be completely fried
This is amazing footage dude. From random floods to documenting a disaster.
That recovery truck sounds brilliant!
Incredible!
I'm assuming the lorry is a total write-off.
That drag down the road wouldn't have done its transmission any good. Can't get the drive shaft out under water.
@@simonosborne3047 Why did they have to take the driveshaft out? Because the engine is locked up and the transmission is stuck in gear? Or is it a standard lorry-towing thing?
@xxwookey HGVs these days are all automatic and yes, it would have been in gear. However I lost a prop shaft about 15 years ago & the recovery took the drive shaft out of that even though it was manual, to save the diff I guess.
Quite a modern truck for Nolan’s 😂😂😂
Brilliant. The water level is wow. Great video 👍😎
Thanks Paula 😊
Look Ma, I'm a submarine!
great vid ben as always
Thanks Stewart
Awesome video as always 😊
Thank you 😊
That tractor unit will be an insurance write-off. Flooded engine and electrics all shorted out.
Whoopsy 😮
Did it go off course??!
I guess they didn't learn from 2 trucks being recovered from there already
Is that where Mr Hewes other Foden ended up? 😅
That’s ridiculous 😂
Saves topping the screen wash bottle up !😅
The name on the truck says it all..
I was only there Saturday gone, it wasn't nowhere near that deep then.
'boss, i have a problem'
Where is this and what is the road it is on?
good video
I use this bit of road a lot, this people are mad for ignoring the signs.
I believe there’s barriers across the road too yet they still ignore them
I didn't know BMW made artic's !!!! Ha 👍🏴
From a Ford focus driver...😂😂😂😂😂
Well it was a joke, a laugh,, but the biggest laugh Andy is that I drive a FIESTA 😁😉🤪 ,,yes, my photo is of my FIESTA!!!! not a FOCUS,, thanks for making my day 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁
Why do people take their vehicles in water that deep it’s sheer madness 😮
Foden 🇬🇧💪🏼
Was that Mr Hewes’ Foden ?
Oooooo that's an expensive one😳😬🤦♂️
Not that expensive probably it’s 10 years old and has over a million KMs.
foden is a beast. dont fancy my chances tug of war with that
👍👍
It'll need more than a tin of flash dash !
Saw a clip of this on the Auto Shenanigans channel where he explains why this road floods.
I don't understand how the driver sees a literal sea in front of him and miles either side and think "Yes, I can make that".
Proper trucks good old fashion British built
How did the lorry driver get on ? Lost his job. ! 😂
doubt it working for Nollands lol
That is gonna be expensive for the driver...
Bet kāda vella pēc vispār bija jālien tajā dīķī iekšā?
Darf man Fragen, wieso dieser Kollege in die Fluten absichtlich gefahren ist? Das Wasser stieg doch nicht innerhalb 2min so rasch an oder?
Job for Shaun.
Как он там оказался? Мозги отключились?
Why did the driver try and turn into that field?
👇Imagine what the tow service Bill is going to cost
That’s one expensive wheel wash
Could be the first time it had a wash ?
Hope the HGV Driver was in better shape than his career prospects.
Would not be much to choose between the two lol
quick question how is it that deep what have had barley any rain all day
This I think is a few weeks old
The wash gets filled up with water a few days after loads of rain. The water from surrounding areas flows into welney.
It normally takes about 3 days for it get really deep. I live about 6 miles from it and the diversion to go around adds 10 miles to your journey
I don't think the barley is growing well under all that water either.
P45 on its way
Could be promotion at Nollands lol
Doing CPC for transport managers now !
The big rig is designed to carry a load it's not designed to float across the lake
I see Health and Safety is non existent!
They USE COMMON SENCE That outways H/S Bollox?
@@brianwebb191 Common sence doesn't come into it when you are right next to a winch cable pulling that sort of weight, stupidity does, when you've seen one of them go you know I'm right!
Why has that recovery truck never had an MOT?
Not needed
Nor does it need a tacho if used within 100k of its base.
They are changing soon to get them MOT'd for recovery. Most are kept in very good order so they don't breakdown themselves of course.
By which point, it'll be exempt as a classic vehicle
Mmm i cant see the road ....its rather wet....mmm sod it ill go for it......o poo....hello boss.....errrrrr your going to love this.....
Im confused ? How the heck did the Audi EV breakdown ? Usually EVs have no problems in flood waters lol
It's still an Audi
@@Rover200Power lol 🤣
My EV's handbook still says not to drive it in more than 6 inches of water, I guess water got somewhere it shouldn't.
@@tibsie 🫣👍 yeah nightmare EVs are
They need Soviet Trucks and cars!
1.3 million kms on it, doubt they will care much about that truck
How did you figure out the mileage on it?
It's a old MAN that's only probably worth less than £10k the recovery will have been £5k so no that's for the scrap bin with the driver.
yep a few more years and it would of been scrap anyway so not much was lost other than a bill @@nothingsurprisesmeanymore
It was knackered before Nolands got it lol
What you expect from English drivers??? 😂😂😂
That truck drivers a bit of a prat really driving through this in the first place probably written the truck and trailer off now careless driving feel sorry for the owner of the vehicle how he managed to get out of the truck water this deep it's beyond me
pojechał na ryby
