I'm so happy we did this collab 😭✨ I feel like I've grown a bit while working with you on these pieces and I definitely feel inspired and motivated to keep experimenting and challenging myself to become a better artist! Thank you for being AWESOME, Dave!!!! Hope to have fun again in the future 😝✌️
two of my favorites in the same video!!!!
@@MohammedAgbadi Always good to see you sir!
I'm so glad you guys did this as now I have another amazing artist to follow
I rly love following the both of u and now such a great collab! Loved it
Wow I follow all three of you❤
That skin highlight makes it feel so alive.
I love how your videos are in the style of 'figuring stuff out as you go along' - relates to beginners a lot!
I feel like I struggle so much with making a piece feel like it has depth when I work the linework out. When I start to paint into the linework everything falls flat. I would love a response or even a video explaining how you get to such a clean render without thick black linework. Also, you are an amazing artist and have inspired a lot. Love your channel, thank you Dave!
This was awesome! Both portraits came out amazing!
Thank you! She did amazing!
Love how both art pieces came out. Great job both Dave and Nadia. Was curious if you could talk about color in one of your future videos. Tips for how to select colors (or paint them) in order to get that fantasy/ animation saturation look. Or if you already talked about it, could you share the link to the video. Love your work and your videos. Looking foward to learning more from you.
LOVE how you handled the lighting on her, gives such a great mood to the piece. I've only done a few collabs but they were always really fun. This one turned out really great, lovely work.
I'd love to hear any tips you have on lighting forms. Like what happens to forms that fall into shadow or are mostly in shadow (like her eyes) and how do you make them not feel dull when value ranges become more muted? Also does the leading edge of the light, right before the shadow become more saturated on her skin as the light hits?
the lighting is absolutely beautiful
Awesome collab from two very talented artists.
dope collab dave, ggs to both of you
Thanks so much!
wow both drawings turned out sooooo good!!!!!!!!!both of you are sooooooo talented!😍😍😍😍

More of these please ♥️
Any tips Dave on how you use layers?
Sorry this is gonna be long. Something I've been struggling with drawing digitally is figuring out layers to put different aspects on. Shadows, highlights and stuff. So I end up just blobbing the color and lines on and tryin to clean it up later. I felt like I was doing it wrong and if it did it the "it was supposed to be done" my work would look better or I wouldn't have to redo so much. Where that may be true in some respects, I've noticed you seem to do the same. Just laying colors and shapes down and changing it later. Watching you has given me a lot of motivation to keep drawing and painting instead of giving it up because I feel I can't do it "right". I still struggle with deciding what to put on what layers. I am an older gent, 45, and come from a lot of natural media, colored pencils, charcoal, airbrush. I recently got an iPad pro 13in with procreate and it's been really easy to pick up for the most part. I feel a little overwhelmed switching to digital though. Picking a resolution and layering is probably my weakest area so far. Thanks man. Absolutely love you work and speed paints. It helps out a lot.
One thing I think you should talk about, is, at least for me- how long this takes- I know you have some vids of your entire process. but these Sped up things, I think us noobs expect a result in just a few hours and get discouraged when we see time-lapse vids that seem so effortless. + I still don't really understand how you do your "find your character" using messy brushes. Perhaps you would like to do another one? and then if you switch brushes or tools, just verbaly mention it. :D
Okay thanks for your vids. always a joy to watch.
Hey Dave, thanks for all the videos. Your work is always something I reference when making my own art. One thing I've been struggling with lately is my brushwork. I mostly use your brush and really like it but my strokes either feel overly sloppy and grainy or too digital looking without a lot of time spent rendering. Might be a hard thing to answer but would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Hey @Dave Greco!
I love how you did the lightning with her face @ about 5:54.
How did you do that? How did you learn to do that?
I just finished my first piece of art and I feel like I just do not have a good grasp of lightning to where I feel I can get really dramatic with it or even understand HOW to.
Any advice you can offer on dramatic lightning and layering colors in general to where you feel like you can confidently build up values?
Thanks!

can i ask were you kinda got your style from its really cool, and any tip cause im just starting to draw on photoshop so i need to relearn ALOT of stuff lol 😂
alot of my style comes from growing up with alot of comic artists.. joemad, tanuka, then onto working artists today like carlos ruiz, working riot artists.. so many!
@@DaveGreco lol ok cool im still tweaking my style, but after watching alot of different artist i can defiantly feel like im getting there, thanx
greetings From Nadiaxel!!!!!!
welcome! :)
Amazing!
Epic!!
5:40 hahahahaha
Maury fan #1 Dave Greco, find out where he is today! (love the way this art turned out, Dave!!)
haha ive been on the show 3 times now! :)
Both artworks are awesome) Btw, Dave or somebody, please, explain me briefly, how to make this mask-effect with a paint-basket tool on a new layer, so u can draw new line/paint all over the artwork
Clipping mask for painting over the previous layer
But your question is not making sense to me
5:39 So, what was that Dave?
lol. Looks like him.......
@@arcturus953 I've been on the maury show in the audience 3 times now! haha yeah bit younger looking there
... why is she looking in disgust at a little worm lol
Thank you for your videos they help me feel evident in something, especially to do something creative_
