I can't believe how labour-intensive the production was! Those must be still around considering the amount of care it was given during (small) production....
+mauricevanmourik1982 This is a small private company who still make them, long after the factory closed. I'd imagine in the main factory when they were being mass-produced it wasn't so labour intensive.

Ve Francii dělali Estafette a Citroen H v letech 1950-1980 než je nahradili moderní dodávky ale tam se tak dlouho udržely ve výrobě protože byly pro uživatele přijatelné. 1203 se udržela ve výrobě od roku 1968-1997 jen proto že to československým uživatelům muselo stačit. Ani ti hipisaci by si ji nevybrali jako takové levné přibližovadlo jako ten VW T1.
I imagine they cant be cheap with all that labor involved, A few new 2CV rolls out of workshops now and then after the official production ended, likewise hand-build, and they are not cheap despite being much more simple to produce than this.
looking at this video it seems like its a production of the 1203 after the factory production had finished, looking at the way skoda made cars before and after the 1203 it doesn't fit in with that type of production still good to see, does anyone know where and when this video is from? situation seems similar to how the VW beetle was continued after its official VW production stopped

Pro mě tato hvězda zhasla,dva roky jsem s tím krámem jezdil a můžu napsat,že to byla hnusná plechařina,kdo nevěří,napíšu pár vážných závad: vozidlo v zatáčkách plavalo a velmi se nakláňelo,motor byl slabý a hodně hlučný,rychlosti se zasukovaly,nedostatečné topení,velká spotřeba atd.Soudruzi inženýři měli raději schůzovat.
1203 is such a beautiful mini bus. In my opinion way prettier design then a VW Transporter. But then again I love all classic Škoda’s. 🥰 greetings from Holandsko.
Skvělé video! 1203 je do značné míry stále ruční práce. To jsem nevěděl. V MB to byla výroba výrobní linky již při stavbě S100. Díky za video!

It’s seems to me like this too. Like they’ve bought old factory equipment. I think somewhere in the comments somebody explains this.

Szerintem az 1203 volt a legszarabb szoci gyàrtàsú furgon. Még a Barkas is jobb volt. Szerintem a szocialista furgonok közül a Latvija volt a legjobb.
