Mishandled a couple high glove shots and put up an .880 save percentage, he was not your difference. Your difference was Zibanejad showing up for the playoffs this year and actually being a productive even strength player

@robwest2814 You may not like it, but it’s the truth. Last year he has 1 goal, 4 points and -1 in 7 games. He was horrible in 5v5 situations and was a non-factor the majority of the series. So yes, he “showed up” this year and he’s “actually” been productive 5v5 after having his worst even strength scoring season since becoming a ranger

It's so wild that no matter how many big time plays in big time games this guys made as a Ranger, playoffs or otherwise, clowns still overstate stuff like this 5v5 nonsense because you wanna talk like you know something. The man was and is an animal in all phases. Our best penalty killer, dangerous on the power play and one of our best skaters flying around the ice playing masterful two way hockey against every teams top line, game in and game out! But nah you right. Horrible top line centre.. Who cares that he didn’t have a consistent number 1 right wing all year or how many of Krieders 39 goals directly came from a play from Mika... He passed too much and didn’t score as many goals 5v5 as he usually does, trade him if we don’t win the cup for sure!

I was not nervous until the last 5 minutes. Rangers match up very well. Forwards who can beat man coverage and their Candy Canes volume of low percentage shots get eaten up by Igor. Should be a fun series but the Rangers will win.

Solid game, very happy with our performance in this first game of the second round. Not a perfect game though, definitely some learning opportunities. Carolina is a high octane team, we can't continue to allow them twice as much time in O Zone nor give them that many power play chances. Gotten button that up.

As a rangers fan, saying it was a laughable effort by the hurricanes is crazy. I was there and they owned that entire 3rd period minus the goal that went thru anderson.. canes are a strong team and it’s gonna be a dog fight #rangersin6

If the Canes didnt hit two posts before we went up 3-1 its a different game. Not complaining just dont believe its going to be easy either. I wouldnt say worried about carolina more of cautiously optimistic because i am a rangers fan and we know how that goes
That game was an absolute cake walk. Let them come back a bit just so people tune in for the rest of the series.

Refs want Rangers to win? They've had to kill five PPs in four of the five games thus far. They're getting called for things that aren't being called the other way. This has been the pattern throughout for whatever reason. So far, it hasn't cost them because they're making more out of fewer PP chances than the opponents. They've conceded 2PP goals against and scored two SH goals. So far, so good, but you don't often win games getting two PPs to five against.
Yeah it is laughable. Candy Canes got bulk of the calls going their way.
@@Mr.Eeeeeeeee Honestly, I think Lavi should sit Rempe for this series, not because of anything he's doing wrong but because he's a marked man with the officials and it seems to spill over to other Rangers, who are also getting called for things that usually get ignored, especially in the playoffs. This series is going to be about getting to pucks quickly, making good decisions, transitioning from defense to offense and speed. If Chytil is healthy, he should play or if not, Brodzinski might fit the situation better.

No. The Rangers were playing to guard a 2-goal lead nearly the entire game. The Canes were committing all five to the O-Zone every time they dumped it in. In that scenario, the Canes are going to have more possession. Add to that the Rangers had to kill 5 full Canes PPs while the Rangers played a man-up for about 30 seconds, and you have a formula where you'd expect the Canes to outshoot the Rangers by a much wider margin. It was basically even, which is a big win for the Rangers here.
@@controlleddemolition9112 Carolina had a season low in shots until they pulled their goalie. They had the puck in the Rangers' zone and they were playing the Rangers game. Stuck to the outside. Couldn't shoot. When they attempt it's blocked. When it gets through it's a weak shot into Igor's glove
