I always love how you say "I'll edit that out later" and then never do, it always makes me smile
😳
If you know, you know… 😂
I actually think that 3rd cabin could be very useful: in addition to over-flow sleeping, it could make a cozy little den with a flatscreen TV opposite a convertible bed/settee. You could even put a small coffee table on the aft side of the room between the bed and the TV. With the convertible bed/couch, you could use it as a bed when needed, but otherwise use it as a sort of secondary saloon on the lower deck. I think one thing I love about cruisers is how creative you can be to try and maximize accommodation for limited space. It's like working a puzzle.
Versatile ! By creating convertible spaces that are never used at the same time, the boat is able to serve many different tasks and activities and still maintain a user friendly boat- all at just under 40 feet - SWEET. Fast paced singles, newly weds, starter families, teenagers in tow and retired folks with each group able see advantages and features that appear to be made just for them. Beneteau never ceases to impress. Thanks to all for the tour. I want an Aquaholic shirt with "I'll edit that out later"
The boat is actually over 42 feet LOA - almost 43 ft.
Nothing like a boat tour from Nick in the morning! Drinking my coffee and enjoying this one. Wonderful boat!
Perfect!
@@AQUAHOLICHello from the Rocky Mountains in Canada….a boat review from you Nick is part of my daily routine ….wonderful job as always
@@Kootenayman24 Awesome! 🙂
What a bargain! So much space on a 40 footer 😮 Awesome yacht, and awesome tour😀
It is amazing how something so small and so mechanically unrefined can cost so much.
Unrefined Twin 400hp verado for a 12 meter boat? Can you suggest a better option?
This boat was $463k 2 years ago with 300's
@@eumesmo6209 You can slap those engines on any boat with a transom, nothing to with Beneteau.
@@cocoloco2711 new model Antares 12 was just launched month ago. This is the full spec price with 3x300 engines. I agree that it's over priced but there're no other cheaper options on the market on the 40/42s
mechanically unrefined? youtube comments really are a different breed
Triple moos... love that!
Loving the outboard option!!! Fast, a lot better on maintenance than a POD or outdrive, can pull em up out of the water. Smart design for 40ft
Love from Indonesia 🇮🇩❤
Hey there Indonesia! 🙂
Excellente et complète présentation, as usual...!
Something different with unique options. They are all out of my price range & living more inland owning a boat is not so practical unless you can trailer it. I do love watching & living vicariously through Nick’s videos while exercising during our winter months though. Thanks Nick.🙏🇨🇦👍
They packed a lot of great features in this boat.
Thanks for the tour Nick!
Our pleasure!
This is a superbly compact little vessel. Modest, good use of space. Thanks for showing.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Very nice smaller boat Nick. Sensible weekender/couples boat; great tour as ever - thanks!
My pleasure!
If I had this ship, how happy my life would be to be able to travel around the islands of Indonesia
Haha - Moos was a brilliant note and noticing that cleat and ability to joystick control the boat from outside is why your tours are a must watch. Good on you.
Great to see some practical outboard engines, some great advantages to them especially on medium and smaller boats!
Another fine start to a Friday, with a tour from Nick. 👍👍
Lots of room in this one. I like it
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Enjoyable tour of a great boat for two, decent boat for four and a weekender for six and even occasionally eight.
Sleeping versatility sums it up well, and without sooooo many options a decent price.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Nice bot but how much fresh water storage?
@@marcsmilen6565 400L / 169 gallons
Very practical small boat with enough room👍
That's a lovely little yacht, nice design and layout. Great tour Nick thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Very impressive tour and vessel. The price point is amazing considering how much kit there is. Thank you! 🍷
Our pleasure!
Beneteau is extremely good at making the best use of space, Nice boat! The fly-bridge would be my favorite spot...
Is that a new T-shirt I hear triple moo's?????? Great boat
A very sensible boat - useful and well priced! Thanks Nick!!
No problem 👍
I wish more makers would use the space above the outboards. Seems like a great spot for a sunpad up behind the seat backs.
So far only Parker has done something like this. I actually asked Beneteau about this at FLIBS and their answer was noise.
They have a bit more work to do to get it to prime-time. That Port salon back rest, when adjusted to look to the stern...they should put a pop-up foot rest there or who ever is sitting there will be constantly thrown aft. The other forward Port back-rest, when adjusted to look forward, rides up against the table. Put a big person there, either the leather will rip or the table may tilt. Also, not sure that was a high-low TV. Also, since the Starboard deck is wider, most may want to moor up on that side as much as possible. With that nice drop-down, you probably wouldn't use it much inport as it would block people on the dock. Definitely would be nice at anchor. Just a couple thoughts 🙂 Nice tour though, thanks!
Very nicely laid out boat! Thanks for sharing! Keep those cameras rolling Nick and Aquaholic team! 👍👍
Thanks for watching! 🙂
A great boat for an owner-operator. Thanks for the tour, Nick! Best wishes!
Thanks for watching!
Its a nice boat, well thought out. I think I would prefer diesel inboard/s , the thoughts of a couple of large tanks of petrol on board is a bit unnerving.
The squeaky door had my two dogs up pretty sharpish. I think they thought there was a new toy in the offing. 😄
Fantastic vessel this one
Lovely boat, many thanks Nick for the peek. 👍
No problem 👍
Beneteau should sponsor Nick and give him one of these for the new Smugler's Blues!!
🤔
When I heard Nick say "triple mousse", I was thinking what the heck was that?
Then Nick showed us a double-moo boat right away.
Crockery AND on a Beneteau. Double win!
What a beautiful and thoughtful boat this is they maximise every bit of space, just fantastic love it 👍👍👍
L'utilizzo di motori fuoribordo gia' di per se' mi piace, mi alletta e mi stuzzica. Bellissima barca, a me piace. Mio modestissimo parere , mio gusto ( soggettivo )😊
This might be our next boat - the 3 cabin 2 head layout is nearly perfect. Love outboards too. Everything else similar to this Antares 12 is Volvo DPS powered which has a very expensive maintenance and repair tax. A couple of Verado’s can be serviced anywhere!
Nice boat nick and another good video 🚤⛵️🛥️🚤👏👏👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks 👍
Bigger than it looks. Nice
That TV as a backsplash is genius :D I am guessing it is a high-low TV? Other than that, I think it is great.
yes high-low
Great video, Nick. Nice boat.😊
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Interesting! I always wonder why boats don't have equal size guest cabins. You can invite two couples without one having a better cabin than the other. Or you have two adolescent kids, which will sooner than later have a partner. But reality seems different :D
Another great video. The way you present a 34 meter Majesty and a 12 meter Beneteau with the same respect, is outstanding.
One of my favorites so far. Those big boys are nice to see, but this little guy (not so little) is much more manageable/reasonable. Now I just need to navigate that 762,000 price tag...
Nice boat with some cool features.
Though you wouldn't want to by cooking a stir fry and watching telly at the same time!
i just need to write to santa about this and galeon and mangusta and... yada yadas!! 👍👍
What a fantastic boat! 😎👍✨
Спасибо вам Ник!
Доброго здоровья.
Great tour as always, thank you. However I don't think its a good idea to put the TV right were you are doing the cooking and washing up, it could spoil it. The bolster chair at the front, will rub on the table whilst in motion. Also you would think they would have sprayed the owners cabin door with a bit of WD40 before the show. Other than that its a nice boat.
Nick, it sounded like you stepped on a cat when you entered the Master. 😅
How do you know that I didn't..? 😳
Another great tour Nick. Is the tv a hi-lo or easily removable? If not, I’m thinking it presents quite a block on window viewing if the weather is a bit nippy and people are inside.
I think it is a high/low.
@@AQUAHOLIC it is - there is a button on both the galley side and one in the back to raise/lower.
Hi Nick...... lovely boat and loved the tour....... but...... does this mean if you've only got the two hundreds you've got a couple of ZOOs ? Haha...... Think i'd stick with the triple cows! Cheers S
Lovely boat. Thanks for sharing. :)
Thanks for watching!
Very nice one. Competition for Marex, Aquador, Nordstar and even Galeon
Beneteau, so innovative! Lot of boat for 12m! Perhaps the drop down balcony could also incorporate a high-low platform (might be some unattractive mechanics on the side of the boat when up, but....). Thanks once again Nick for a great review; you are the master!!
You're very kind! 🙂
Very nice !
Nice yauct. Thanks for the tour. 👍
Thanks for watching!
They really packed a lot into this one. Love it! Thanks, Nick!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Realy wonderful weekend boat, or even for a week holiday...
There is a lot space on the boat and looks very comfy..
Thanks for the Tour Nick...
Our pleasure!
It’s a wonderful thing to see all the latest innovations from the various yacht manufacturers from a hand held smart phone.
I’m curious about the air draft on this extremely versatile vessel. Also, I wondering if a pair of OXE 300 hp diesel outboards are an option. They could add significant range.
Once again Nick, thank you for another thorough and enthusiastic tour that you are so famous for😊
The spec sheet only advertisers mercury outboards. To fit it with diesel outboards, you would probably have to order the boat without any outboards fitted (and fuel tank if it is not suitable for storing diesel), and then commission someone to install the diesel outboards, fuel tank if nesscary and steering controls. It would be great to see a diesel version of it. That would be mwah (chefs kiss) Quieter, less volatile fuel so can be stored for longer, further range, longer service intervals, and I'm pretty sure diesel is more common than petrol/gasoline at mariners so that would be another big benefit.
@@flinttolleyespecially considering that all diesel is desulfered for the new cleaner emission systems. Also, with outboards you have plenty of room to fit more fuel for better range. I’m less interested in high horsepower and more interested in torque as well.
@@Earthbackcoffeeroasters Oh yes I completely forgot about torque, which for a vessel of this displacement would be more ideal than petrol outboards.
Hay Nick, what? Don't worry about 🤣🤣
Very nice, complete boat with lots of flexibility for seating options. 3/4 of a million Euros seems high, but that may include everything shown here, and not the base price (Nick, correct me if I'm wrong). If so, try pricing a Porsche. Sure, they may start at €60k, but then you'll need to buy all the 'options', like a steering wheel, tires, engine, headlights etc.
I can't comment on the European Spec, but I do know they offer the boat at a pretty base level. However, in the US the A12 comes in a pretty high spec (Genset, AC, etc) and options are pretty reasonable. So this is pretty close to a loaded boat at a USD equivalent price.
Dear Nick, isn’t this boat kind of related to JEANNEAU merry Fisher 1295 I see a lot of similarities in them the same but different
Jeanneau and Beneteau are part of the same company. MF129 and A12 do have some similarities but are actually quite different in person. I look at a both boats a FLIBS and the have learned a lot from the MF1295 that makes this much better in my opinion.
Nice Boat! But sorry, imho the TV so close to the hob does make no sense.
Cracking little boat. Great spec. In the boat world Nick how quickly and much do the boats depreciate in cost. Obviously in cars it is quite significant. Great tour btw.
So many variables but approx 30% in 5 years and 50% in 10 years. They then tend to hit a bit of a plateau and slowly trickle down to the floor price. A boat of this size and spec I can't envisage ever dropping below £90k regardless of age.
A floating, entry-level RV. Pretty humble, but hopefully, functional.
A 12m beneteau the price of a 50 feet ten years ago!! And 2x400 outboards are twice cheaper than 2 volvos 400 diesel...
Three seating with table areas on a smaller yacht.
@ 12:16 - Just tell me this sound isn't what it sounds like.... :D
First thought,... That kinda price for a Beneteau with outboards 🤔
Next seeing 6 berths, excellent master bathroom and dayhead. A well equiped drivers workplace. Sufficient "kitchen" plus TV. A nice sesting inside, aft and fly plus a rather big and practical entertainment area on the bow.
In short, a lot of boat for a friendly price.
Moos love it 😅
Well, I quite like it. Packed a lot into a relatively small package. Maybe not a refined as some may think it should be, but than maybe they should be looking at 50+ feet and double the price. A generator and sea keeper would make this a very comfortable boat to take on a nice vacation, if you put in a watermaker.
Generator and AirCon in all 3 cabins and Salon is standard in the price (in the US at least)
I don't really get this outboard trend
Nick! Great review as always, but for something completely different: I really like your watch! Which model is that?
It's a Spinnaker Boettger
@@AQUAHOLICclassy just like its owner!
@@Micki4Mo Thank you! 😊
Ouch ! I hope that TV retracts ? I can see that quickly suffering right next to a skillet of pan fried skate wings ! ... 🇬🇧
Not to mention bacon grease!
@@aquatadevore9335 Yuk ! Indeed ... Wouldn't occur if living on 'cheese & ham' sandwiches ! 🤭
Yes it's a high/low electric
That squeak in the owners cabin really caught me off guard.
I was hoping someone else noticed that! I had to go back and check it was actually in the video!! :D
Squeak free doors - $25k option.
@@dark2ooth Warranty invalidated if owner applies hinge grease I assume?
Just jokes - it's a new model - but WOW it was just weirdly incongruous to the rest of the craft!
That's a very nice boat some very good inavasional touches and I think the cabins and heads/showers are a very good size for the boat
I wonder if they will move the side door from the platform to the helm door 😄
The door noise... 😂😂😂😂 the price is a little absurd, but to each their own.
Nice
Wow. A table that unfolds.
Never seen anything like that before. Especially on this channel
Next week a high\low table.
Next year a folding high \low one.
Great boat, but for me, if you have a door at the helm, why wouldn't you put a door in the gunnel right outside the helm door as well, to give easy pontoon access when singled handed. Great tour as always Nick.
the Antares 11 has this feature and it's SORELY missed in this boat. I wish they would have kept that from the Antares 11. Otherwise, this boat is a huge upgrade in every other way.
Rather nice, am not a fan of squeaky doors :-)
I thought he stepped on the cat.
@@snv648 twice ? :-)
This boat is affordable for people who own medium sized companies
Beautiful
Squeaky doors though..
For a smaller boat it's got everything you need
Interesting whit outboard engines. Is Jeanneau/Beneteau the same, otherwise it would be nice whit a comparison between the two boats. Seems pretty the same.
The 1295 and the Antares 12 are surprisingly more different then you would think. I got to see both at FLIBS and I prefer the Antares 12 quite a bit more. They fixed a lot of little things since the Antares 12 was developed after the 1295
Lovely new version of the Antares, like it 👍
But crazy expensive for a 12m Beneteau.
It's not a Riva..!😳
This is 50% more expensive than the Jeneau Merry Fisher 1295 flybridge, which is also more powerful and 3ft longer...
@@Nezzer57 I think you are very much mistaken. This boat is actually over a foot LONGER than the Merry Fisher 1295, and in the US at least costs less and is more well optioned. There is absolutely no world where the 1295 is half the cost of this, as I have the MSRP price lists for both boats.
@albertpenello 1295 is 550k, Antares is 795k, that's @ 50% more expensive, for a smaller boat in the Antares too...
@@Nezzer57 You are wrong on both counts. The Antares 12 is over a foot longer than the 1295. 1295 is 12.56 M / 41'2 vs the Antares 12 which is 12.97M / 42'7". So the Antares 12 is bigger by almost 1.5 feet.
Second - if you actually read Nick's notes, the 1295 price quoted is HULL WITHOUT MOTORS. The Antares 12 price was the boat AS EQUIPPED with the dual V10 as well a all the other ugprades on the boat (teak, Audio upgrade, Electronics Pack, etc). As the MF1295 is only available as a three motor version, I can assure you (as I have both pricelists) that an equivalently equipped MF1295 will cost you more than the same Antares 12. The MF1295 is a smaller boat that costs more money.
Got to see this boat at FLIBS and it's everything Nick says and more. Big upgrade in quality from the smaller Antares line. You get a lot for your money with this boat, and being designed as an outboard first the interior space is much larger than inboard boats at 42 feet.
I was really hoping to meet @aquaholic at FLIBS but I didn't see him! Thanks for doing this video!
Sorry I missed you!
Should move the bowthurster near to joystick.
For boaters on a budget the Benneteau fits the bill. With three cabins - one of which contains a cockerel and if you listen @ 7:03 you will hear it - + a flybridge, this vessel deserves to be shortlisted if you're a bit short of shekels.
Like to c one of these tours when the boat yacht is actually at sea. Then u cud c how properly they work.
What a beautiful boat and absolutely family friendly but one thing you missed is how the top on the fly bridge gets put away. But like always love your videos
Always a compromise, but never on The Wave!
While I do like a lot of the features, I do feel this would be nicer with a bit more room, perhaps enough to go galley-down with a lower deck lounge area to match.
Nick, how many times have you taken an accidental swim whilst walking down a narrow side walkway?
None yet... 😳
This is a really interesting yacht. I'd like to know who thought it was a good idea to mount the radar dome in the same plane as the heads of those sitting in the fly bridge (or their torsos, if standing)? Is that safe?
lots of the smaller boats do this and they warn not to use Radar on the Flybridge. All a compromise I suppose!
Cracking use of space Nick, very impressive tbh. A bit of a downer though is that price reflecting just how badly Our Fiat Currency has Lost its Purchasing Power. 😡 But likely to be addressed pretty soon imho. 👍 Best Wishes.Bob. 🤔⛵️🌟🌟🌟❤️
Are these manufacturers not feeling any pricing pressure from tightening credit markets? I suppose if your customer is buying a $750k boat, they don’t need to finance it. It just seems like the prices keep inflating and unlike the housing market, I’d think boat buyers would have more options.
You clearly have an absolute command of the English language, but I have noticed that you often refer to the head as the "heads" or "head's", with an "s" sound at the end. I wonder if this means that the proper name for it is actually "heads"? Thank you very much for your wonderful boat reviews! ✅
In the UK we call it the heads. In the USA it is just head.
Thank you very much! @@AQUAHOLIC 😎
Thanks Nick! Personally, I think Beneteau should stick to sailboats...
Fortunately for Beneteau, there are many thousands of people who disagree with you. 😄
Probably thousands that do! 😮
