"17 Jul 1977. I played the Seattle Kingdome with Led Zeppelin
The Kingdome, an inflatable dome in Seattle, was an indoor venue that held 70,000 people. It felt surreal, as we entered the building through an airlock door. Here is a section of my solo spot that features the theremin and the bow and the exploration of both. It's lengthy but gives an example of my avant garde journey with this sonic architecture."

Led Zeppelin, Best Rock Band Ever - Hudba
The most glorious and intriguing 13 minutes and 55 seconds that ever distracted me from studying!
srslywhatever at least it was worth it!
Exactly! The Man Was A Fucking Wizard!
13 min and 56 seconds
Lol same
This is cemented in history by one man, never to repeat itself.
I'm glad I found this while stoned
I'm so thrilled for you.
lol
...I'm wondering.....wondering if this is real....or because the tab I dropped 4 hours ago.....
I'll toke one to that!
Haha. Saaaaaame
This video of Jimmy page is awesome! I just learned about the Theremin tonight in History of Popular Music at Full Sail University. The Theremin is an electronic instrument that was created in 1919 by Leon Theremin. Its amazing to me that the Theremin is still being used after 96 years! This is an electronic instrument that I could have a lot of fun with. I had always thought that Jimmy created all of those spacey sounds with his guitar. I love knowledge.
Thank you, i hate that people find the need to hate on a master musician because he dips his toes into a less widely known domain, and people get all defensive about it, thinking they're better because they know something the other guy doesn't. its pretty hostile, primitive, and counter productive for someone to lash out at someone for experimentation.
Jimmy Page is one of those guys who came up with some of the most simplest and sometimes complex riffs which became not just good songs, but MASTERPIECES. Thats the difference they dont see
Anyone who attacks Jimmy Page is a musical moron! Even if you don't like his music, he had such a huge impact on rock and roll, and especially rock guitar playing. Jimmy went his own way and no one has ever been able to follow.
Excellent original comment -- 👏 people say so much stoooopid stuff about master musicians. Get over yourself folks.
I think Jimmy was quite amazing. Anyone with his talent is very blessed.
Thank you!
Jimmy Page is a master inventor and innovator.
🎸🎼🎵🎶🔥
43 years after the breakup, they still sound fresh, every listen you hear something new

I imagine a general confusion in the audience but also amusement
They were probably stoned
Many knew to expect this.
Beauty in obscure trippy melodies with the violin bow's extra feel and overtones laying overtop, all echoed with delay. Chilling
Imagine how much fun it would be to shake, rattle, and rock an arena with a theremin, a delay, guitars, amps, and a bow with 50,000 watts of power. Zeppelin was known for playing loud. The audience was feeling every tremble Page inflicted on them.
Guess this was during the time can experiment with music, and not get to stop. How sad it seems like now days if an artist does that, they get criticized for it.
Led zeppelin wrote the book on what a cool rock band is supposed to be all by 1980, in an 11 or 12 year period, and still 40 years later no other band has come close to what they designed.
Eddie Van Halen was an excellent guitarist, Jimmy Page is.............. phenomenal ....
The best hands down !!!
he's literally regarded as the worst, well done though 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@OrbvsTomarvm Jimmy Page the riff master 👌
Star Wars level: Jimmy Page
A master of the ephemeral, a genius of your imagination.
Some get it. Others do not. I enjoy it.

Good story.......
I WANT A THEREMIN SOOOOOO FRIGGIN BAD!!!!!
It's been 8 years. Do you have one yet? If not, what's stopping you?
I hope you have comment reply notifications on.
Pro one's are expensive. With music instruments, I think it's best to start with quality.
Here ya go! : femurdesign.com/theremin/
stunning. A true master of his craft, mister Page is!
Mister Page is a true magister ! I totally agree !
@@elenarazpopova73 lol girl hi

heav3n baby Of course you are ! You are learning from t.h.e best aren’t you ... it’s the G effect
Electronica before it was in vogue! The master at work!
crazy and genius at the same time
Dont see why people are arguing considering almost every guitarist after led zeppelin has page to thank for inspiration and look up to him highly
If you play this in reverse at .999% speed and listening while upside down, you can open a rift to the realm where Jimmy first met our creators.
Respect must be given to the true Thereminist who puts in hours of practise for the instrument or their choice. However, Jimmy is drawn to playing more than just guitar, and if people receive enjoyment from his efforts, then the richer they are for it. I myself have been richer for listening to both...
this man just shot lazer beams from the tips of his hand and fingered the universe
The boy's too thin here. Thank the gods he survived.
Jacqui Espin this is when heroin was becoming problematic. Im also glad he survived.
Ok Zoomer more of a concern than a shame
Exquisite Sounds ~ Jimmy Is A Musical Genius :)
Thanks ~ EXCELLENT POST.
“Does anyone remember laughter?!!”
The sounds are calming to my ears. Jimmy is otherworldly by far! Love this so much
Love ❤️ Jimmy’s incredible artistry with sound
Death wish 2 score was brilliant.👍🏻🇬🇧🎸
I hum jam sandwich almost everyday
I was just watching Death Wish 2 on TV at the same time as listening to this!...Strangely enough Jimmy isn`t mentioned in the credits at the end...Did he fall out with Michael Winner?
great time for music...... it was all experimental, unlike now which is far and few on play and more on routine.
Well said friend. Page is a master technician and producer.Few people knew what a Theremin was when he introduced it into the song "Whole Lotta Love". We accepted the music of the artist at face value and we went on our way. Why do some have to complicate things? I saw this very performance in Indianapolis Indiana at Market Square Arena. Page was phenomenal that night.
I have just finished a book of how music heals the mind body and soul.. Jimmy Page knows this theory!!
Trust Me!!
Long Live Led Zeppelin x
Brilliant musician 🎶 and master second to none..🙌 ❤ Mr. Jimmy Page
this is magic,

How high are you?

man, after watching that, I'm trippin!
Did jimmy page just create dubstep or something I just so confused I just. Uh. ;-;
Oh dam you're right
1:47 But also the contemporary car alarm
Got that exact theremin style....Crazy Shit !!!
this is so cool. After I got a multi-effect box for my bass this is the stuff I tried to emulate. Never heard this before but it is what I would try to sound like.
I have been experimenting with a theremin, and with the Kilpatrick audio PHENOL for a few days now. I have been running each through a guitar amp; but I want to get a bass amp, split the signal, and then run the signal through both the guitar amp and the bass amp simultaneously. I've noticed that my amp just doesn't produce the lower frequencies that are coming from the synth and the theremin.
Anyway, if you play bass, you should get a theremin and run it through your amp! Could sound sick.
My Master in full glory and pride!
Brilliance and showmanship at its best. Jimmy god page _/\_
Steve Vai and every other guitar player on earth do things only they can do. Just like everyone is a different person, they are all different and no one should compare each other. Competition has no place in music, and it's so annoying hearing little shred trolls talk shit just because he doesn't sweep pick. Lol
I agree!
That being said, jimmy page is one of the best ever
Oh the mighty arms...!!! Music of the Gods...!!!🔥🔥🔥
awesome
When at the time it was created it was amazing still is
fantastic!!!!
Jimmy Page is a guitar legend!!!!!!
Mr. Page is my guitar hero🎸🤘
Ohmygod. I was born EXACTLY 20 years later. Awesome!!

Guitar master! Jimmy rules!
Always wondered how Whollotta luv got that sound;)
Seen Zep 4 times. I witnessed the PERFORMANCES OF THE GODS!!!
nothing is sexier than a man playing the theremin...especially when its jimmy page
Jimmy the magician tryin' to enter in contact with aliens 👌
Too bad the laser footage didn't translate - at all! Seeing them in April, 1977, in Cincinnati, the laser stuff was amazing, both for Dazed and Confused, and JPJ's No Quarter. Its a damn shame you couldn't enjoy this footage, unless you were there....
+james woody They didn't play Dazed And Confused after 75, believe me.
69Bloodsucker It wasn't Dazed & Confused in full. It was a featured part of the set to play Jimmy's violin bow section from the solo section of the song. My bad memory. Actually, my good memory....actually, one of my favorite memories!
Page's use of the theremin and violin bow on guitar are about the only things I find interesting about Zeppelin.
@monthlyguitarist stunned by the master.
People back then probably didn't know what a theramin is and thought this was magic
awwww man sorry about that, but you'll always have the concert's experience to remember them by :(
I tried really hard to enjoy this because I love led zepplin, and mr page..
Does the sound of the humpbacked whale move you? Violin bow solo in some parts emulated these incredible sounds.
That description fits the sound made by a theremin.
The part that starts around 5 minutes sounds like an early version of Eddie Van Halen's Cathedral minus the delay.
where's the showco smoke machine at the beginning strangly absent.
were you there? why yes yes i was
2:45 look at my dab!
He's playing the middle section of won't get fooled again on his guitar 😳 I wonder if anyone ever noticed that before or if Pete knew what he was doing 🤔
Where's the audience?
He alien-ated them.
Tab?
2019 description hehe
Check out his 'Lucifer Rising' stuff
Jimmy fucking wicked page, rules all the times!
you can find em for like fourty bucks online. i got one.
It's the machine doing everything. I can make all kinds of weird sounds with my keyboard.
Not one of his best, certainly. He was in the "grips" at this time. Still amazing, and something i haven't seen before. Thanks so much for posting! :)
como se llama la maquina donde esta haciendo eso
Theremin
Yes, Jimmy is a showman. And if his efforts do not appeal to you, then that's ok too...
Almost sounds like something that Pink Floyd would’ve done
"He's got the magic hands, Mama"
como hace eso
i really wonder why they didnt play dazed and confused after 1975
Trippin' their brains out!

@paradiserosie You must be the luckiest person in the world ;)

The Theremin is a fascinating and little-known instrument.
Jimmy Page does his "job" as a showman and pulls off effects and bad effects with suggestive results.
Personally I prefer a more "classic" use of the Theremin, an example of which I put the link: czcams.com/video/lY7sXKGZl2w/video.html
(...needless to point out that I don't know if Jimmy would ever be able to sing like Katika, while for her it would be very easy to come up with the same sounds as Jimmy)
Jimmy Page is smexy when his playing the theremin...
Yep. Also, parts were like something from the Deathwish 2 soundtrack.
suzana abis !!
Fucking geez...
The Wizard
Jimmy taught Brian may to play with a bow too. monkey see monkey do! both are awesome though
ha!:):)
Leave the bow for the Violins.
