Idk man I’ve lost any interest in halo multiplayer, it’s fun I guess but does not have the same feel as halo 3. Maybe it’s just nostalgia but I don’t think we will ever get something like old halo ever again. Too much corporate greed and to little passion for good games has led the entire AAA industry to creating cheaper and more bland games, halo especially so.
I just NEED campaign content, if it is really a mulitplayer only game, that's cool, but I don't like having my story content drip fed to me through 5 minute seasonal cutscenes.
Give us that epic conclusion to Halo War 2 and Infinite's campaign, would LOVE to see Chief, Arby, Blue Team team up with Spirit of Fire to take down the Banished

Much as I enjoy Halo campaigns, I think the smart move would be a standalone multiplayer experience... an Infinite 2, as it were.
With that live they could, potentially, use it as a steady source of income to empower a second team to focus only on new singleplayer games.
@@Uzarran I'm totally down for a mp only game as long as we get the singleplayer only experience too though. My fear is that we'll get a mp only game and then they'll ignore the singleplayer side for a while and we need more story content than mp content rn imo

I just want a large scale Halo Battlefront style game that’s like invasion but 64v64, pelican drop ships, halo wars vehicles, etc - set in various conflicts during the human x covenant war. There’s so much previous history in the halo universe I think it’s criminal to not explore it more albeit just in multiplayer form
This is actually an idea I can get behind. A lot of the time when people pitch ideas where it's "Halo but more like blank" it never really clicks right with me, but I think this would actually work really well. Might be a bit tough to balance though, I think it would wind up being asymmetrical, and handling that well is going to be very important.
I like the idea of having AI follow the player(s) in little organized fireteams, so more marines for the UNSC and likely grunts and Jackals for the Covenant. Hard part comes when deciding how to balance the players, because ideally you would start out as regular soldiers and then work your way up to reinforcements like vehicles, ODSTs, Jump-Jet troops, and maybe all the way up to stuff like Spartans and Hunters. Hell, you could even have a mode focused on attacking/defending a Scarab, like Walker Assault from Battlefront but in a way that might actually not be one-sided? But if you're starting out with players as Elites for the Covenant that would be extremely unfair. Maybe have them be low-ranking Brutes with really weak AI helpers? But more of them? That'll have to be fine-tuned somehow.
And you could have so many different maps for this, obviously the first one that comes to mind is the Silent Cartographer but you could also have stuff that we haven't seen that much of yet, like fighting in a farmland where all of the terrain is semi-destructible, so you can see the damage caused by the battle afterwards. You could even have a space combat mode that could work the same way, using Broadswords, Longswords, and other fighter craft. Maybe even have it transition to a boarding phase where you get an attack/defend objective, or a Cole Protocol type where you have to secure the point before the enemy does.
Only difference I would want from Battlefront would be cinematic respawns. Instead of popping out of thin air when you respawn you go to a dropship that actually flies to a spot you control on the map and drops you off there. Or maybe there could be AI controlled squads wandering the map and you can take control of their squad leader.
Point is, I like it, and I think this would be great. It would just need to be balanced _really_ carefully.

Honestly I hope the next Halo game is coming sooner rather than later, being one of the people who never really felt satisfied by infinite.

@@HiddenXperia Never thought I'd get a reply on one of my comments. I remember having soo much hope for Infinite I was a person who was proudly saying "Halo is back!" Just to have my hopes crushed by Infinite's launch (one of the many in the flights), I still played it for a while but fell off, I did binge husky raid when it came out. I feel 343 could "get it right" this time but with something new and fresh for Halo.
I just want to see more of the early human covenant war. We only saw the last three months or so and there's twenty seven years worth of lore to explore.

Completely agree about wanting a game every 2-3 years. This whole 10 year game era we've been in with 5+ years of dev time has been horrible. I know covid attributed to some of that but man i hate this shit
Unfortunately 5+ development time is becoming more commonplace with the increased workload expected from AAA games. However, 2-4 years may be sufficient for a single-player only title if Infinite remains the franchise's ongoing (supported) multiplayer experience.

Remember about 6 years ago now when everyone was crazy after the halo infinite reveal, then toy leaks, lack of information, theories of how the game was gonna be like, and now here we are, 2024 and talking about the next halo game after infinite already, that shows how fast time goes by, and it seems crazy how the first halo infinite trailer is about to be 6 years old now
And it was 95% smoke and mirrors just like Halo 5s. 343 is absolute trash.

I mean I just am worried they don’t build on what they’ve done with infinite because all the hate. I genuinely think infinite is the best gameplay halo has ever had. The story actually feels like halo. Art style is in the right style. If they can just manage the next one better and add to what they’ve done I think it’ll be great.
In the state that infinite is in, and giving that we won't be getting any direct Campaingn DLC, I think it's pretty plausible that we'll be getting a campaign continuation in a separate game taht'll be campaign only.

I really just want them to continue the story from infinite with some more campaign, there's still so much that needs to be answered, so many characters that we still don't know what their status is, not to mention the downed gaurdian on the ring in the distance

@@1ghzxbox I actually liked halo 4, halo 5 I was apathetic and I only liked the multiplayer (after updates), and I haven't even played infinites story because I wanted to see an update first. It's not happening now! They've fired all the folks that made dumb decisions and i'm cautiously optimistic.

I kind of hate to say this as I see this constantly from fans, but I think 343 is just not interested in making game experiences anymore based off an anniversary at this point. I think bringing back content inside a new game, like maps or armor customization is probably more safer at this point. Based on MCC debacled history, this would be the death sentence to 343 if they screw up making the remaster and I think they are done taking risks on old games at this point. I think its just time to move on and try new ideas for Halo. Classic Halo will always be there but we need new original ideas for Halo that move the franchise forward in a proper way, 343 has tried in Halo 4 and 5 in the past, but fans just don't like it really unless its related to Classic Halo in some way.

That should have happened about 6 years ago. 2011 was the 10 year for Halo CE and 2014 was the 10 year for Halo 2. 2017 should have been when it came out since Halo 3 came out in 2007 and we’re well past that point.

5:15 It sounds like an ODST sized project. Either we're getting a new story piece for Infinite, or its a Standalone with CA doing some multiplayer component (they've been very hit rather than miss with their Halo content when brought in).
I want a continuation of infinite’s narrative l. I want 343 to follow through naturally with their story. I hope that is what they plan to do with Certain Affinity. Something I’d personally love to see and it’s quite a big ask, it would be neat to see infinite’s campaign possibly brought over into a new game and remastered. Like the Hitman games recently. I’ve always wanted that “breath of the wild” halo game that infinite was supposed to be.

I remember when the post launch of a game was about giving the players more content, not about getting the game to an almost complete state then moving on.

Without Joseph Staten, I really don't know if the ship can be righted. I'm not certain Halo will ever be the franchise it was 10 years ago as one of the main pillars of the gaming industry. Now it's simply a shooter with an online component, and my excitement for anything 343 does is luke warm at best.
I would LOVE to see a retcon from the current timeline and have a capable writer have a crack at starting over from Halo 3s ending.

They need to make the next Halo work like the orignals with linear missions but some are small open world levels. with a level selection, different biomes and locations. Not just one place divided into 3 levels.
I think Metro Exodus did it sort of well.
@@Butch_Deezlsteak Yes. It worked like that. The only open world approach that will work is doing it like Metro Exodus. which has 2-3 major open world areas and a few linear missions but all work as independent levels.
Wherr Infinite just works as one huge map with a level like dungeons. As result it was bland and liked diverse biomes and wildlife. If they're gonna do open world they have to do it right, and that will likely just take them a decade to release a new Halo. I rather get a mission based game every 3-4 years instead of waiting another 10.
I love the RuneScape music in the background. Man that made me feel some things especially mixed with the Halo news. Sheesh.

I really really think that “Halo: the Endless” is the Halo Sequel we have been hunting for. It was copyrighted early on in Halo Infinites lifetime and Apparently the next Halo game has been worked on since 2021. Plus, Halo has been moving away from numbered titles for a while. I think what Halo: the Endless used to be Campaign DLC back when Joseph Staten was with 343 who directly mentioned “campaign DLC” and obviously the main writer for Halo wanted to make another story. After 343 said that they are definitely not making Campaign DLC, Staten probably left in defeat, but probably left them some notes on how to carry the Halo Story forward.
After the Halo Battle Royale stand-alone was cancelled, I think these 2 concepts have been merged into 1. Halo: the Endless will be a new campaign with a Battle Royale in the multiplayer.
I hope the start of this next era can feature something as simple as antialiasing options in infinite
I really hope it comes. I loved all the halos. Even 5. Been playing since I was a kid in 2003. I've never given up on halo so I hope it comes out soon
I would love some more prequel stuff, heavily exploring the beginnings of the human/covie war in FPS style. I'm a huge sucker for the OG covenant banding with elites as the main enemies, directing swarms of grunts and jackals.

As I've seen mentioned many times here and elsewhere, a horror-survival game in which you play as an ODST against the Flood would be great. They could even have a DLC in which you play as Sergeant Johnson and see how he survived the outbreak on Alpha Halo.
You won't get one this year. If you get anything this year, it would be information on FUTURE Halo projects.

Spent the past week rereading the first 3 Halo books. Objectively fantastic novels. Highly recommended even for a non-Halo fan.
What I'd like to see is either:
1. A Thel 'Vadam 3rd person souls like game with a assortment of different melee wepons.
2. A flood horror survival with a rougelike mode in there.
3. A halo tactical xcom style game.
4.ODST Sequal
But what I'm expecting is a Spartan or ODST drop pod Battle Royale free to play game 😂

I think 343 isn't gonna leave behind the insane work they put into Halo Infinite's multiplayer. I think they'll keep Infinite's multiplayer updated and add more content in armor pieces (getting other species cores?? also, assassinations, a second utility on the other leg maybe, etc etc), battlepasses, new game modes (official griffball, other PVP modes as Firefight, and a classic firefight mode), new maps, etc, while in the next game (Halo 7?? :0) they'll focus entirely on Campaign to add more lore, badass gameplay, etc, etc, etc, instead of a DLC that everyone's hoped for for so long. Infinite's multiplayer is, for all purposes, completed, but it still has a LOT of good content to share in the future, I think.
Your never gonna get assassinations, best youll get is a few armor cas grabs and maybe a nostalga bait bundle. Dont forget 343 hates their fans, thy said it themselves.

If they really had only 3 years and are announcing it soon, there's no way they've recreated everything from scratch. Especially with how long it took to fix forge. I'd imagine it will copy/pull over a ton of assets from Infinite and expand on the Multiplayer, maybe even keeping the same Multiplayer similar to ODST.
I just hope we finally get the flood. An open world game that can host some of the crazy creatures that faction has would be amazing. An open world with 3-5 factions battling it out would be awesome.
I also agree that Infinite should remain the long-supported multiplayer platform. Trying to remake (or reinvent) another PVP experience could also further divide the community (i.e. Halo 4 & 5). IMO Infinite just needs a major facelift (UI, Challenges, Servers/Desync, etc) and relaunch alongside their other major project(s).
Microsoft has done this with every live service title they created, support it for years and years and add content. Sea of thieves , grounded and fallout 76 are good examples of their dedication. They kept mcc going for almost 10 years. Halo 5 servers are still up. The new standalone CA project will be part of the bigger "next evolution of multiplayer " Joe staten was referring to earlier before the layoffs. It will be integrated into infinite similar how Call of duty integrates other titles accessible through same menus. Its gonna be unique extraction type of game mode with best elements of Halo

Alrighty, now here is my thing.
Halo Infinite NEEDS mod support. I know nexus mods has stuff like that where you can download files and such, but something like the master chief collection where you can make mods through actual mod tools made by 343 and submit them through the steam workshop. Halo modding has played a big part of my time spent on a screen, and still is. I would love to see some official tools made by 343. In my book halo needs to add steam mod support before going onto other big projects and other games. (My Thought)
For the next game I hope 343 remembers the outrage that was sparked by the coating system replacing color choice and changes things so we get back our freedom of color selection, independent from shader patterns and designs.
I just hope the next game brings the Halo Wars story into the fold full bore. I want to see Red Team
I hope we get to know what happened with the Spirit of Fire crew in the ark and how Veta Loppis and the ferrets are gonna help them, and of course where's Blue Team maybe they had something to do with the other plan the UNSC had to stop the created?
I dont get why they dont do campaign dlc. All the tech is there, different ring sections and the story is pretty much set up for a direct continuation. An unreal engine halo seems quite strange to me and screams soft reboot 2.0 but in a bad way

I really liked the last spartan standing mode, I really think they should bring it back more fleshed out and a bit more shiny.
I heard that they might make new campaigns and infinite would be the multiplayer for the seeable future which I honestly don’t mind as long as we get more of the story

I would love to see a "Halo Legends" type of game where you have multiple different types of campaigns. You can still include a Forge/Multiplayer in there, but imagine like 5 different style 4-6 hour campaigns following different people. Would be pretty cool imo!

I am with you on semi frequent releases. The sweet spot for me would be a new game every other year. And then alternate between continuing master chiefs story and then expanding the universe (or exploring an already expansive universe) through different characters in the next release. ODST is one of my favorite halo games because it feels fresh in that way.

A campaign that covers the story of a forerunner during the flood-forerunner war and includes the ancient humans, the bias AIs, lore about the primordial, and perhaps more into the Promethians

Hear me out, what if somewhere down the line they start making remakes of the games like Capcom does with RE series, would you like that? Changing small details and gameplay elements to make it more lore accurate and better pacing (kinda like the dead space remake)
They’ve sort of been doing that with the Anniversary games.

With the recent books having the ferrets trilogy, the story of rian forge and 343 guilty spark. They could honestly build a game based on these characters, or even start to include them in the current games in a spartan ops like story style

Halo spin off game probably without chief, or a prequel during the covenant war, possibly headhunters during the covenant war or spartan IV's that are in tandem with the infinite plotline. That's where my mind is going.
11:15 CA is probably helping with some content for a story. They pretty much started with significant asset development first, before 343i has been in the position to start. They may be a support studio on the project, but it doesn't mean they aren't doing the heavy lifting. I won't assume that it will be a large project but I think expectations should be set at an ODST level of content released.
Im glad to be part of the Halo community now ive known halo since i was a kid i really wanted to play halo but we were too poor but now ive finally bought the halo and the reach campaign was awsome started playing Halo C:E Looking foward to more halo lore!!!

The new potential game could be like ODST, where its main focus was on Campaign, but had a tap-in to Halo 3 multiplayer. Maybe this will be campaign focused, but have a tap-in to Infinite Multiplayer.
I think Certain Affinity is working on the ultimate Halo multiplayer experience/platform. I feel this will include the gameplay of every game across the Halo series, brought together in a single package, and on Unreal Engine 5.
Could be fun to have a horde shooter spinoff like Helldivers II. ODST’s would be perfect for it.
As a massive halo wars lover, make a game about red team and the crew of SoF. Doesn’t have to be an RTS but it’s a story worth telling specially since we still don’t know how Atriox got off the Ark at the end of HW2

Any sort of flood origin story would be amazing for a new game, or even anything before halo reach, or maybe between halo 1 and 2. I really think they need to go back and fill in some holes and stuff instead of moving forward

Yeah without a doubt certain Affinity's project is still very much alive, Max said as much a few months ago. It releasing this year would make a lot of sense and would be another huge hand Infinite has to play going forward
