I have always felt a void in my heart, a loneliness and a longing for connection, this song hit so hard for me. It will be forever one of my favorites.
I'm sure it's been stated several times, but damn I wish they'd made it big. "Heliotropic" and "Another Space Song" are two of the best songs of all time.
the difference in dynamics on this live version is terrific, one of the only examples of a song that works equally well both ways. the consistent and insistent drum beat of the album version speaks more to a trance, but the live version has more variance that can be better for an audience, where it can be hard to get into that trance space, the louder and more powerful parts really elevate everything.
It's true, they're amazing. Their work has a way of continuously reminding you of reminding you of it. The first time I heard "mascara" by Deftones I though it reminded me of "smoking umbrellas" off Fantastic Planet.
After revisiting this video several times over the past 2 years, I think I've decided I like the way they play this live better than the album version. I do kind of like how the album version starts out better, but I do like the drum-less parts of the live version as a more varied approach to dynamics, as well as the heavier chorus. On top of that, the ending and the extra verse kick total ass. Anyone agree?
This band is an anachronism. They are from the future but they somehow traveled into the past. 😉👍🏻 So different from their contemporaries, should have been huge. The Heart is a Monster is an amazing record
how the bands that deserve the throne of the most influential music of all time got the money-respect-joy-fame-etc that they own? Failure, you're my life and still R.
this is definitely one of my favorite songs off the album (that would be the awesomeness of "Heliotropic")... but this was THE song that got me into Fantastic Planet in the 1st place (not "Stuck on You")... this song just has a weird haunting, yet inviting tone to it. & damn, Autolux is really amazing too!!!
this was always my favorite song to listen too while high. failure really captured the feelin of bein high on opiates so well...i wonder why... check out dirty blue balloons
i love it. i pointed out that ken doesn't play guitar on this song and i get a minus. lol this is a great video though. i can't believe this whole show is up here. with such great quality too.
it's not fair I would've love to have been there,I finally got a remastered vinyl version of fantastic planet at amazon,it sound waaaay better than the cd version, vinyl has much more bandwidth to work with.
"Complaining over cover songs is just a vengeful way to declare one's individuality through others inspiration." Actually, I'm pretty sure the covers themselves do that.
I prefer this version of the song to the actual recording on the album. Does anyone have tab for the intro part? and maybe anyone know the extra lyrics at the end?
This song can put me to sleep, make me cry, and make me happy. I love this song
I always get chills at "And I won't let her down / my soul is celestial bound"
I'd give anything to see a Failure reuinion.
Now you have it
@@RockOfGreece he had it 6 years ago :)
You know, that's my favourite part too. "My soul is celestial bound"
@@KitsGravity trust me bro, I think I speak for all of us when I say it's our favorite part.
@@KitsGravity what does it means when he says celestrial bound?

Best comment ever
what a song. so good it fucking hurts.
this is one of the few songs that can bring you to tears when thinking of a lost love.
Reminds me of morphine, drifting off into space, you don't want to come back at times.
I agree. I just lost my mom a few weeks ago. I’ve loved this song for years. I’ve been listening to it very much recently. It makes me think of her.

one of the best songs of the nineties
She can't be far
I'll sail alone
these are the alt lyrics at the end right?
true, the version on the album has non of the dynamics they throw into this, this performance is amazing!
So crazy that this post is older than me , good bands always age well, failure forever
Probably the best song ever.
Fantastic Planet is an album that I can always go back to. Timeless.
Incredible performance. One of my top 5 or 10 favorite songs of all-time.
I always keep coming back for the intro
It's true, they're amazing. Their work has a way of continuously reminding you of reminding you of it. The first time I heard "mascara" by Deftones I though it reminded me of "smoking umbrellas" off Fantastic Planet.
This was always my favorite song off Fantastic Planet... Still is. One of my favorite albums of all time.
2006?! I'm here now, just amazing how music is and always be timeless

100 percent agree
just when you think this song couldn't get any better, they add an ending like _that_
100% agree man
It hits different live.

VERY under rated band...they're amazing.
Hell yeah! Me and my boy Landry will be bumping this every night!
this is definitely one of my favorite songs off the album (that would be the awesomeness of "Heliotropic")... but this was THE song that got me into Fantastic Planet in the 1st place (not "Stuck on You")... this song just has a weird haunting, yet inviting tone to it. & damn, Autolux is really amazing too!!!
Man I wish I couldve seen this song live its fuckin amazing!!

You could really tell this was in their dope years
Someone made a great fan video for this song with old Russian cosmonaut footage....best one I've seen hands down. Anyone know what happened to it?
i agree with many others. best song on the album; favorite song ever.
Exquisite Thank you for posting.
I got fantastic planet when it came out and I always wondered what it would sound like live. Thanks.
Failure will never die
Great version. Fantastic still stays in full rotation on my player
this was always my favorite song to listen too while high. failure really captured the feelin of bein high on opiates so well...i wonder why... check out dirty blue balloons
Fucking awesome show. Love Failure.
year of the rabbit was really great too! well, still is=)
Funny that Greg Edwards, even back then, covered his instrument in foil. He did the same to the Gibson SG he uses in Autolux.
I hope I never meet the people who disliked this.
Hell yeah! Woo!
you are so right :)
holy shit
Must worship!
so goood
For an album about addiction, they do great depressive love songs... lol. Failure kicked ass.
i love it. i pointed out that ken doesn't play guitar on this song and i get a minus. lol
this is a great video though. i can't believe this whole show is up here. with such great quality too.
i'm soooooo mad i missed this show!
i live in houston and know exactly where urban art bar was....
I want a Failure reunion.
We got one ;)
The studio version is great but this live version, when all instruments are on,really punch you in the stomach..."another level of feel"
if you watch the other songs from this show, they switch off quite a bit, which is really cool
Wooo!!!!!
best song off Fantastic Planet!
What a cool beat!!!
Bit different to the album but thats awesome when bands do that
Hope they reform sometime soon
just shot some dope listening to the album version of this.... what a perfect moment....
Their songs are about their love for Heroin, but alas, the music is great. They must've dearly loved Heroin.
My personal favorite is Heliotropic. But, I know what you mean. So many fantastic tracks on it.
@SushiMaan44 from what i've gathered that Wal ken's playing is the exact one that was used to record Aenima.
God, I love Ken Andrews.
failure es mi grupo favorito desde chiko
yeah man, check out their 2 music videos. "stuck on you" -which is awesome. and "Undone" my favotire.
this version wins teh internets
it's not fair I would've love to have been there,I finally got a remastered vinyl version of fantastic planet at amazon,it sound waaaay better than the cd version, vinyl has much more bandwidth to work with.
now i get sad listening to her music
its kind of funny but every time i listen to this song it reminds me of the game Dead Space.
Failure is by far one of the greatest bands ever
camara12 Muse’s Space Dementia used to do the same exact thing for me a decade ago lmao. Reminded me so much of dead space
They should put it in the remake lol
Twisting off into the sun, its okay to be lonely. Failure was such a great band... Cmon Greg, drop Autolux and get Ken
We all do
todavia no caigo me siento muerto
is there the full show on a complete video o something like dat???
pliz someone tell me
"Complaining over cover songs is just a vengeful way to declare one's individuality through others inspiration."
Actually, I'm pretty sure the covers themselves do that.
THIS WAS IN HOUSTON TEXAS!?😩
Love this fuckin song!!!
I prefer this version of the song to the actual recording on the album. Does anyone have tab for the intro part? and maybe anyone know the extra lyrics at the end?
It's just an arpeggio of the main riff
she cant be far, ill sail alone
I've found alot of songs from this same show. just look around.
