A lot of kids are underestimating how good + lucky you have to be to get in the NBA , players who were stars in college and highschool can sometimes only make the bench if they even get drafted at all.

Its not about being ''good'' or ''luck'', its bias, favortism, connections, and other factors. For example, if you're a famous athlete/celebrity's son, and you're pretty decent at ball/healthy, you're 100% going to the league. Bronny james is like mid and hes definitely making it.
I’d lean much more toward good and lucky than favoritism. You get lucky if you grow to be at least 6’1; that is a major aspect of making it to the NBA. Also, generally the people who make it to the NBA were very good in high school or college.
You can be the most dominant player in highschool and still not make the G League. Basketball is too competitive. If you don't have a back up plan you're screwing yourself.
