Ummmmmmm. Dude. Mad respect. Been watching your for awhile now and I gotta say you are an awesome source of knowledge and incredibly impressive when it comes to talking and teaching about all things production. Not too mention you mixed for IH in this. 😂 WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT! lol
so we got the SQ6, and we currently use the analog snake, on aux: 1 stage monitor, 2 vox monitor, 3 in ears, 4 talkback, 5 broadcast and 6 Recording. broadcast & record, control via SQ Mix Pad, in ears control via SQ4you, and i must say its a flawless setup for us so far
Dude, you are a freaking life saver. Love how you set it up. I want to do cardioid setup on a middle sub. I am knew to all of this, but in your experience should I run the cardioid sub via phase settings/delay setting in the mixer, or should I just stick with the setting included on the sub processor, and use delay in the mixer. Basically, I am using QSC KS118s. I was going to do 3 in the center of the stage the middle one reversed to keep the bass off the DJ booth. I have 5 subs total. I was thinking 3 in middle and two to the left and right?
Is there a reason you only use one channel for the guitar? I always try to get a clean DI signal and the signal from the amp mic from the guitarist to get ahead of the classic amplifier fight
Hey how does this mixer compare to the avantis? What does he abantis have that this doesn’t? Is it just number of mixed and matrices or there’s something else?
Thanks for sharing. Any suggestions on how I will ran the CAT5e from mixing position to the stage? I am looking for suggestions on how to protect the CaT5e cable. Thanks in advance
You buy a roll or length of polyurethane jacketed shielded foil twisted pair (S/FTP) 5e riser cable that is suited to your average run (100-200ft is fine). Cut enough length to yield two cables-- always have a backup-- and terminate each of them with ethercon locking connectors (four total). If this sound confusing just buy two complete units (AV ethercon) that are ready to go. Plan on >$350 cost wise.
You are doing great but sucks that we cant see what buttons you are clicking on the board to do whatever you are doing. But great explanation and set up though
That was soooooo helpful. Thanks, Jim Las Vegas.

Awesome and useful information!
Very helpful, thank you. Question: can I route channels post gain only direct to the USB recording outlet for unadulterated multi-tracking?

Really good video
Great video, new subscriber.
Camera man breathing hella deep😂 Nice video and explanation though!!
nice video, also good band that you mixed for hehe, love israel houghton
Do you send signal to the subs directly from the mixer? You don't use a processor?

They may not have amps. A lot of bands I mix have pedal boards with amp sims so that the stage is quiet.

Maaaaan I wish you were in my area because I just bought the SQ7 and I’m trying to figure this thing out and would definitely pay you to set it up!
lol did you end up selling it?

Funny how he divides Drums and Instruments. lol. Like "we have 5 musicians and a drummer!"
What do you call a person who hangs around with musicians? A drummer!
