I live in Arizona and perform in the beautiful city of Scottsdale. Nicknamed the West's most Western town, Old town Scottsdale is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. The art and architecture recreate the ambiance of the old West. Which is why I chose a cowboy as my character! I blend right in.
Needless to say, Arizona is a desert and the weather makes it too hot to perform most of the year. December to April are the only months when I might have a chance to perform on weekends.
This is my Social experiment
I am an artist and this is my interpretation of interactive art.
Attempting to pose in public as a bronze statue is a challenge. The last thing I want is to appear like a person who thinks they look like a statue. I've seen 'living statues before and I wasn't fooled and I think I can't be fooled. In fact, I'll bet whoever is reading this doesn't think they could be fooled either.
That is what everyone in my videos said before meeting me.
I don't hand out business cards or promote CZcams while performing. It only invites conversation which I avoid for the sake of the next opportunity which I wouldn't want to spoil.
I first tried this just to see if it was even possible.
THIS IS NOT A 'PRANK" Scaring people is not my intention. I am not out to invade people's 'space', shout or yell 'boo!' at people who are minding their own business. (unless I am bored) I prefer to be called amazing, not #$#&!!. Many more people pass by oblivious, to my presence.
I just sit and mind my own business. I believe using this unique approach is why I am welcomed and supported by the city.
Have I ever upset anyone?
I have never had a negative reaction, well once.
I've never been intentionally hit, or been bitten by a dog. No heart attacks. Using my approach, I am not to blame if someone mistakes me for a statue. It's not my fault.
Besides, everyone is too busy laughing.
I make a one in a million moment possible and who the lucky person is totally at random.
Timing is not up to me most of the time. Most people touch me as they sit and realize something is up before the right time. Each person is different and I try to wait for the right time to reveal myself. Sometimes they get away before I make my move.
I am sorry for the quality of the video. Filming was an after thought and my lack of experience shows. Also, the way I concealed my camera interfered with the sound and picture. I have spent money on a new camera and it was problematic and ultimately stopped functioning.. I have used an old Canon that has never failed me. I can sacrifice the quality if it means confidence that I'm capturing the moment with a camera that is reliable.
My costume is just old clothes and A LOT of paint. Metallic Bronze paint. Nothing special. For make up I use black eyeliner for a base and metallic creme makeup. I create texture using a small screen.
It takes under an hour to be ready to go. Removing the makeup using soap and water is what takes hours.

What I nice thing to say! Honestly, I made my videos never really intending or anticipating posting them anywhere, let alone on CZcams. I've been posting my videos merely because I ran out of space on my computer. I never imagined other people would really find them interesting and valuable. Boy,was I wrong! For a street artist to have more than 100,000 subscribers and 50 million plus views is humbling. I want to thank everyone of them for showing me that what I am doing is worth something to others. one more thing... what is shocking is the fact that it has been more than a year since the last time my videos were viewed less than 1000 X PER HOUR!!! Per Hour!!! I think this shows that the world needs a reason to smile and when people find me they find that reason, too. And I believe, my numbers might be big in my eyes, but in the scheme of things I have barely scratched the surface! I have to thank everyone for watching my videos... because the statistics show that there are 300 hours of video are uploaded to CZcams every minute! Almost 5 billion videos are watched on CZcams every single day. For my little videos to be discovered is like finding a needle in a haystack. Greeks are extraordinary people. You would never know they are in a crisis by the way they live, laugh and love. Historically, Greece is a country that has endured wars, invasions and natural disasters and still they have a zest for living like no other people I have met before. It really is humbling.

Single mom, my son wanted a dog. He was 4. I was flipping a former drug house of 13 years. We fostered PAWS animals.
He/we had 4 consecutive Domesticated Fancy Rats bc I knew the I would have to be the oversight committee.
When my son was w his dad in DFW area, one of those rats literally died in my arms. I cried for days... how will I tell my son. OH MY, FATHER GOD... They have an approximate 3-year life span.
First 1 was Snowy. White, those beautiful pink eyes. We made obstacle courses in his bedroom, taught him proper nutrition, what's a fruit, veg, dairy (yogurt, cottage cheese), proteins (live worms we caught or raw beef, poultry, fish from the kitchen), grains, etc.
Next? Star. She thought that my son was "hers" (it's a real thing) and bit me hard on the knuckles 13 times. My son watched in horror at eye level as his mommy bled from her finger knuckles, again and again.
What you do is most wonderful, truly an artist!!!
They simply almost never see it coming. Simple but effective, brilliant.
