I just finished this bag ! Only took 6 straight hours😅 But! It is the first piece I have ever made that I am proud to sport around. I am beyond thankful for your efforts in making such high quality tutorials and releasing your patterns at no charge. My great grandmother had introduced me to this craft in my early years, and my grandmother is also a creater. They have both sold at farmers markets making their living and developing my skills in this hobby is my way of connecting with them although my great grandmother has passed. Please, continue doing what you do :)

Just made this bag myself as my first solo sewing project and I really enjoyed it! It was super easy to follow and I made minimal mistakes (I was expecting a lot more given how my sewing adventures so far have gone...)
Also in case anyone else is using a fabric with a pattern on the right side; while sewing the pocket on, make sure the pattern is on the outside !! I thought I was being smart and flipped it so the wrong side was facing out and ended up making a white tote with the pattern on the inside

Made this as my first sewing project! I used some African print fabric, and I made braided straps for it. I also couldn't do the pocket and opted for a simple inner pocket hahaha I get so many compliments about it! Thank you so much! Loooooove your channel so much!

Love pocket switch
A question is you are using fabric scissors to cut the canvas as well as paper pattern so oops. Probably as so boxy and flat canvas. I trim commercial tissue patterns close to edge when I seperate pieces before placing on fabric so minimum chance of precious fabric only scissors cutting paper. You are great, any youth would love to intern with you.

When you swap from sketching the welt pocket to sewing it at ~4:20. I ended up stitching the pocket on with the pattern folded and cut through both sides of the bag when making the pocket 😅. But all good. Nothing a patch can't fix

I see your problem and I have a same problem too. Fabric and trap so thick. I think we can change the needle #16 for sewing machine to make easier.

Really good video, easy to flow along, however I did have some issues with the pocket as I used fabric with a pattern so I had to unstick some parts. If you have a pattern make sure to sew the pocket to the outside of the bag as you will be pushing the pocket threw the pocket hole.

I've grown up sewing with imperial so the metric system feels off for me to see or hear. I'm Canadian and when I started sewing, must've watched a ton of American tutorials so I've been brought up with imperial specifically for sewing 😵💫
