NOTE: Fallout 76 is not free-to-play and still costs around $39.99, and is free on Game Pass (Xbox & PC) - this has been amended in the original article.
Is Fallout 76 worth the price tag? No, probably not. It's worth a try on one of the free-to-play models, or if the game is on sale - which it often is. But $40 is a big risk for something that only has a small chance of clicking with you.
imagine a few weeks after release you could pick the game up for 5 euros at all game retailers.

Beware if you play this game. You’ll be confronted with the most giving and caring community and gaming. I have met so many great people playing this game. Everyone is so willing to help one another absolutely recommend it if you’re on the fence about trying it.
sounds like the currently developed community is safe enough to dive around for being free on gamepass. its proably a nice moment
Sounds like you never played guild wars 2
I played at release and kept getting sniped with explosive shotgun X01 jetpack users
Bro fallout community is awesome
It's not like they have a very big Gamerbase to afford being assholes with new players innit?
I've played 32 hours in this game since Friday, lol. This game is actually awesome..
More fun than 4? Currently playing 4, wondering if I should switch.
@@dovahking6514currently there a seasonal event call meat week so a bunch of people are playing it
@@dovahking6514its really different, to each their own but i like 76 way more than 4.
4 is good but 76 will make you feel like actually living on the fallout universe. Try it and come back to let us know what you think.
That's the Big secret apart from the industry's effort to kill this game off over the last 5 years the game keeps drawing new players who discover how awesome this game really is
Since when did Fallout 76 go free to play? Outside of gamepass and the one time it was offered as a free game of the month for ps+ members.
Its currently free to play now for 5 more days

is it worth to buy?
YES its good, playing it as we speak! The game even recently also had a patch where they added 60fps, not sure if that also happened to Xbox. But its so much more fun compared to the release.
Absolutely, the game has FPS boost on Xbox Series consoles for 60fps as well, and it is definitely a big improvement!
its not good. Crashes often
I’ve really been enjoying the game . I may see some bugs but the whole experience has been fun and entertaining! Worth a try imo
good video, but here's a couple corrections: The first mmorpg is Elder Scrolls Online (it's big too) and the mutation system has always been in the games, all the way back to Fallout 1 (it's just been a part of the Perks)
Well TESO is theoretically speaking the first MMORPG of the Publisher Bethesda, but it was developed by ZeniMax Online Studios. Fallout 76 was developed by Bethesda. So 76 had Todd Howard working on it, while TESO didn't have Todd involved.
@@kurbisfurst5194 Except its was Zenimax studios devs that came in and FIXED the game post launch, Howard later stated that due to this EVERY mmo going forward will be done EXLUSIVELY by Zenimax studios since that's their mmo studio.
I bought the tricentennial edition when this game first came out it seems to be better as I quit after maybe 20 hours of gameplay, wish me luck ima be trying it out again with a fresh character
I think the question is it really worth buying for 80 bucks in 2023 but I myself might dive back in if it aged well over the years

What made me leave it was just the complete absence of dungeons or coop content. Played most of the game solo, just played the "raid" and the queen event with people. The game is great but miss the component of playing with other people.
The game ia on sale in steam for 8$.
I need to pay a monthly subscription to play the game solo?
It’s simple. If you want a Fallout experience with friends then 76 is for you. If you want a Fallout game with great quest design and deep story then you will be disappointed.
for me the game clicked and it got me to enjoy 70% of my 2000 in game hours because the remaining 30 were loadtimes on ps4 (recently switched to ps5 and its much better). It also doesn't crash amymore and is pretty much bug free by now. There are many serious flaws (community gets overly excited over a mandatory fix that is 2 years too late, Fo1st paywalling necessary feeling features with a too high montly pricetag, recent updates make it feel very close to a state of life support, fomo, personally I hate the walking animations and the way 3rd person mode feels but in turn I love the feeling in 1st person) but none of them gamebreaking and more about the game is good than bad. Still worth a try and I have no regrets
First time playing any Fallout game was 2 days ago with Fallout 76. I have had fun and enjoy it so far. If a person unpleasantly following? I just switch lobby. The atom shop does not bother me because I just don’t need to buy anything. I been getting levels on the board thing but have not claimed anything from it. I played GTA 5 online for years with never changing my starter outfit or masks. Maybe because I am use to lobby’s full of griefers or maybe because I don’t feel a need to own skins. So having fun with no care of min max and just doing my thing.
I beg of you to play the other fallout games, Atleast 4 or new vegas

If you had played other Fallouts, you'd have a very different opinion of this one. Mark my words, you'll hit that inevitable wall soon enough where you're so over encumbered from scrap, aid items, legendary weapons, etc, that you will give in and subscribe to Fallout 1st, unless you're a masochist or someone who doesn't value their time (without 1st, you'll be managing your inventory more than playing and spending more time travelling/doing things than necessary, among others) or aren't interested in building a CAMP, crafting, collecting and hoarding stuff in general like in every other Bethesda game ever.
I just hope the so-called Fallout 4 Next Gen Update, will upgrade everything with Fallout 76 mechanics, text boxes and changes etc.
This is what I'm hoping too. I would be okay if Fallout 4 was like 76, but without the MMO aspects.
I might think about trying it again cause it's been a while since i've played it and is it good guys? I still play 4 and New Vegas which are really great games and i don't do online often. Mainly Switch and Fortnite.
It can hardly be worth playing if basic features are locked behind a paywall. I suggest modding one of the previous fallout titles unless you've got the currency to spare on 76 it's got quite a firm grip on exploitive market practices. Also note how he dodges the specifics of how much atoms you earn. And relying on a charitable community to say whether or not a game is good or bad isn't a great way to say whether or not it is good or bad.
That's what I've pulled out of the reviews I've been watching. They all try to dodge the specifics of how much you actually earn and how long grind can take WITHOUT additional help.
Yeah dont listen to that other comment, if you liked FO4 you‘ll probably enjoy 76. i played it daily for over 2 years now
Very well balanced video, not like other influencers who would sell their mom for a hundred bucks. Thanks bro.
Currently on sale for 7.99
I downloaded this game because I was a fan of fallout 4 and this game was newer and also free with game pass. I didn’t think much or really thought I’d play a lot of fallout 76 because the reviews were negative. That being said, I’ve spent almost 300 hours in this game. It’s been one of the most fun and rewarding experiences in gaming I’ve had in a while and the community is nothing like I’ve seen in any other game. I remember being a low level and not having meds or ammo and this guy just randomly dropped thousands of rounds of ammo and stimpacks. Now I try and help any low level I see and give them some extra supplies that helped me when I had just started. Just all around one of the better gaming experiences in the last few years.
U play solo?
Yes it is a good fallout game to play in 2023
Question, say u like power armor, will it be a challenge to play with it?
Not really. There’s power armor too.
Power armor makes you basically invincible. Just gotta learn to manage fusion cores

I used to be obsessed with fallout ever since FO3. I’m honestly ashamed that I put as much time in this game as I did I put the controller down a couple years ago and picked it back up tonight and it feels like a chore to continue playing.
The subscription fee would be worth it if the content on offer were anywhere near as good and varied as the mods already freely available for FO4. It isn't and that's a damn shame.
Nonsense. There are some changes from Fallout 4 that improve gameplay (so its not like its Fallout 4 without mods). Also no matter what you mod into F4, you still cant have online coop or MMO experience.
Fallout 76 is not free to play,i payed 10€ on Steam sale and i like it so far but the game is still full of bugs.
They said mostly free to play because it's on gamepass and a lot of people on Xbox or PC have gamepass, also I haven't had any glitches in a long while
Never played before , just downloaded it now off game pass quick prep before Starfield , let’s see what’s upppp
You can’t earn atoms by doing daily quests or operations any more. The scoreboard which you earn points to progress through by completing daily/operations and xp gain will award you skins/utility items/atoms etc and if you have fallout first u will gain extra items from the scoreboard. Buying fallout 1st every other month should be enough to keep on top of the game if you play a lot. Complete the season buy fallout 1st for a month and all the extra rewards can still be claimed from the scoreboard plus you’ll get 1650 atoms which will save you cash compared to buying atom bundles.
the game also got 16 times the details
Yes. Places like g2a have it for real cheap. Initial release was rocky, but it has gotten a lot of love since. And I mean genuine love. I took a long time to buy it out of principle. I don’t regret that, but I have had quite a lot of fun with it since I bought it. Especially with the personal server legendaries. Fun to mess around with, ngl.
Overall it has couple hundred hours of gameplay in singleplayer, potentially multiplefold if you have dedicated friends.
Not for everyone though. Definitely still prefer f3/nv/4. I consider f1/2 a different game category and only comparable in terms of lore/story not gameplay. In terms of story/lore 1/2 are too iconic to be compared though.
I bought fallout 76 a few years ago not realizing you had to pay for a money psn account. I don’t play often or have time to and dont want to pay a monthly subscription fee. If future games require a monthly subscription, im done with games. I perfer solo. Fallout 4 and New Vegas were great.
Have you been living under a rock? PSN subscriptions and Xbox subs have existed for the past decade.
@dilly8758 really? 😆 🤣 duh. Seems.more require online only play amd and more add-on content to purchase afterward. Games aren't fully developed when released and require updates and patches. Seems like a money grab. You still living in your mom's basement?
@@GB-fe1ciYour current comment and previous comment are two completely different thoughts. You initially complained about video games in modern times having a paid subscription service to access online play, when this type of system has already been in place since 2010 back on the xbox 360 and ps3.
So before you start raging in another comment on a completely separate issue, make sure you are still talking about why you're complaining, not changing the subject to the fact that companies don't finish games on release anymore :^)
@@dilly8758 they are both similar ideas. Games are becoming more subscription based. Less offline. That was my point you didn't comprehend. Yet you felt you needed to chime in with your ad hominem childish attack. Get a life.

If nothing else, there should be at least a new fallout 4 sequel like with fallout new vegas. That would be fun and interesting and we wouldn't be waiting for more story with a chunk of our lives. Gah!
ESO was their first mmo lol
No. Because ESO has been developed by ZeniMax. Fallout 76 by Bethesda.
4:23 Fallout 76 isn’t free to play what are you talking about ? It’s 40 on ps store
Is there a single player campaign ?
Don't know if you have found the answer but yes, the story and almost everything except end game bosses are solo from the get go.
Bethesda needs to stop with the mmo trash and just give us COOP that's literally all everyone wanted with skyrim yet we got a dumb MMO and then fallout 76 comes out hoping I was was gonna get a true COOP game nope just another dumb MMO type game... BETHESDA ALL WE WANT IS SKYRIM TOGETHER FOR CONSOLE!!!! put coop in star field and I would actually play it. I'm so bored with single player games sadly. Love skyrim but would be so much better with coop like skyrim together.. Sadly that's only on PC.

Fallout 76 is awesome.
The game is $7.99 is it worth it ??
Try it
It's fun for sure but eventually you run out of stuff to do (no remedy unlike with other FO games) and new content is SLOW even though it's basically an MMO. Obviously, if you're into doing the same thing over and over again, grinding and wasting precious time doing that which could be spent on other games then I'm sure you'll still have fun (if you can call addiction/slave to FOMO fun lol). Also, trust me... I have 700 hours so far in this game and I would've quit at 99 hours if I hadn't subscribed to Fallout 1st to solve my over encumbrance issue. Half that time is from becoming addicted to grinding caps and other stuff on Public servers which is a huge time sink. I play almost exclusively on my own Custom server now and play it like a traditional Fallout game. It's the worst of the bunch though. There's so much you realise once you have the ability to toggle off a lot of the time waste/money sink malarkey. So yeah, if you're willing to pay a subscription fee then there's quite a bit of fun to be had. But is it worth £99 a year just to do the same thing over and over again? I guess if you're going to pump and dump it then yeah, you could buy to play, do everything and then uninstall it but it's not worth full price and even then it'll still be painful. £10 tops since you're handicapped without paying even more money for the sub. You'll see. I know what I'm talking about. ☺
Got it for free on PS Plus, having played the crap out of 3 and 4, expecting the worst for this one, its not too bad, but, be warned; does take up a lot of time, like the 'real' fallouts!👍
I’m aware that it’s only $8 I might buy it🤔
I'd buy the game if it wasn't an MMO. it seems like I'd enjoy it a bit more than 4, but the MMO aspect kills my drive to play it.
I'm lvl 70 and have played solo the entire time. 76 is honestly an all round better version of fo4

@@Thedrunkenswede1337 to each their own. I disagree. Your paying for a service that allows you access to these games. Every game I've downloaded I haven't lost a game and I'm not paying $60 to $80 for a game. I get what ur saying though.
At least gives you the excess to figure out if it's a game u want to pay for or not.
Yes it is.
It’s a shame people can make a video knowing little to nothing about the game. VATS does still work, so that’s false info. And with an outstanding helpful community, starting out is no the behemoth task you make it out to be. You get 1 star out of 5.
My thought exactly. There are so many perks and ways to play… I’ve spent about 200 hours so far. It is a little different than other fallout games this is true because it is about grinding and finding your own ways of building your character which I really like
No. I personally would say it's not worth buying at all it does get boring quickly after 2-3 days when playing alone so I would personally suggest getting game pass on Xbox to play it for free
