I learned a lot about my fig tree from your video. This is my first fig tree I've ever had, and it is producing beautifully. I have grown to love figs as they are extremely delicious. We have been eating them and canning them and making jelly, and I just love every aspect of figs. Now I understand why they were so prolific in the Bible. Thank you for all the information. Your fig tree is absolutely beautiful.

I also had Celeste fig. One method to help the main crop to ripe faster is to pinch the tip of each branch in early June, once your tree has reach forming all the new branches. Most of my main crop ripes in mid August and early September.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. I am in zone 9a. We recently bought a home with a little bit of land, and it has a few fruit trees on it, and a fig tree being one of them. It’s a whole new world to us. But we are excited about it. Thank you for this video! It is much appreciated.

Also tips...seems you need to prune your tree after the season is open, too many small branch in the middle. Otherwise, a healthy and productive tree you got. Green thumb

Just what we needed to hear about ripening. We are battling grasshoppers eating our fig leaves, we hope the exposed figs dont get damaged before we get to harvest. Do you put any nylon mesh bags ir anything on the figs to prevent bugs and birds from oecking at them?

Thank you very much. We are in 9B central florida. We just bought 15 Olympian fig trees..Not more than 2 ft high..Some with figs already on them. We have planted some in grow bags..Others will be planted on friends property and shared with our community. I read where one should not fertilize when figs are developing. Is this true?…Thanks again and much blessings 🦋

That depends on your soil conditions. However, in general, I think it would be beneficial to use a balanced fertilizer (for the ones planted in the ground) such as 13-13-13, once in spring and once in fall, after they get established and start producing new growth. Periodically use a liquid fertilizer for the ones in the grow bags. Hope that helps and good luck with them.
