I mean, it's low-key Yamada's fault that this happened, though. Earlier in the library scene, she was being way too roundabout and beat around the bush when it came to asking Ichikawa for his contact info. Meanwhile, Moeko (Yamada's friend) was straight up about it, and she just directly told him. A few reactors even pointed out that Yamada would've immediately gotten Ichikawa's number in the library scene if she had literally just directly asked him. Even if you want to say that Yamada was nervous or whatever, that doesn't excuse the issue and it allowed Moeko to beat her to it.
