    I used the same total boat epoxy to redo the galley counters in my sailboat. I was surprised at how well it held up, but it's been a couple of years and it still looks great.

    Can you show the epoxy the builder grade bathroom white countertop with sink build in?

  • @mcsisawesome
    @mcsisawesome Před 2 lety

    When we started letting ours cure, the next morning we saw it dripped more over the edges overnight even though it seemed fine before bed. It also creates some ripples/bumps because of this. Seemed like it wasn't drying as fast as it should have. Any advice for this? Our top theories are maybe we didn't mix it thoroughly enough or maybe we mixed in the wrong order?
    We primed our bathroom counter before hand but we aren't sure if any primer works or if it has to be more specific. Do I need to sand the primer after it dries if i have a granite countertop?

    I've heard that total boat epoxy does not have a very long working time, so would it be hard to do kitchen countertops without it curing/ getting stiff too quick with the effects like you have maybe even more.?

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  Před 3 lety +1

      It does harden up quicker then other types of their epoxies but you still have a lot of time to work with it. If it’s a larger kitchen project I would plan on doing it in sections. One slab section bs doing them all at the same time. Hope that helps Jessica and thanks so much for watching.

    Is this a project I could do as a complete novice to epoxy? Also, i have a laminate countertop with a few burn marks that took off quarter sized top layer.

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  Před 3 lety

      In all honesty Michelle I’m not a novice with epoxy but I’m sure that anyone can take this project on if they wanted to. Like I said in the video, the coloring is very forgiving and even if you make a mistake you can always cover it up or smooth it out. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching.

  • @bradlemmond

    The sinks in both of my bathrooms are that cultured material with the scalloped sink made into the counter top, all one piece. Would I be able to use this on that, including the scalloped sinks? The one in the master is cream with brown marbling and the other is cream with yellow, so they never look clean.
    EDIT: I looked at the Amazon page and it doesn't look like it will work. Does anyone know of any cost-effective options that would work? We're looking at doing a refresh (paint the dark paneling and replace the old vinyl) soon and waiting to do the full reno.

    • @BYOTools

    Is epoxy toxic?

    • @BYOTools
      @BYOTools  Před 3 lety +1

      Well you certainly don't want to eat it or breath it in if your sanding it. However, for this project we didn't do any sanding and the product is very low VOC so I didn't even need a mask to pour all of this epoxy. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video.
