I was at this show in the video you
can see Stones piano player Ian
Stewart got up and jammed with
George Thorogood and with Ian
on the keys made George's band
sound like a real R&R band.
I saw this live on PPV in 1981. I had no idea who this guy was, but that set before the Stones was so surprising. Especially this song. But the entire set was monumentally electric. You can't deny the epic excellence of The Stones, but there wasn't a single song they played that gave me the same rush of adrenaline that George and the Destroyers gave me that night.
Knows how to rock. Love it!!!!!
Diggin it alright. What you reckon George? :-)
Slide guitar is just something special, and when the Delaware Destroyer himself takes the brakes off, it goes so much further.
No one like him. Ever.
Saw him and the destroyers at the Glen Hotel in Brisbane, Australia in the mid-80s, no idea what particular year, they all kind of got blurred together back then. Incredible performance!
There's enough energy there to run a power station.
I went to see George in concert some 35/40 years ago in south Texas at a place called 'Gilleys"...man, I cannot find the words to adequately express what an awesome show he put on!!! One of, if not THE Loudest, most energetic Rock n Roll performance ever!!!!
I believe it was 1997, I drove to Reno to see ZZ Top. George was the opening act. He finished and the crown went absolutely nuts. ZZ Top came on, started playing. Before they finished their first song, the entire crowd was calling for George to come back.
I heard that happened at Stones concerts too. And that's why he stopped touring with them.
Look at his face, the guy is having the time of his life.
One of the most high energy performers in Rock and Roll. When you go to a George Thorogood performance he “ plays loud and he plays fast” so “ try to keep up”. As much as I enjoy listening to his recordings you really have to watch him play live to appreciate his enthusiasm and energy on stage.
THAT is what you call Rock & Roll!!
Dirty Rock n Roll
Saw him at the Concord Pavilion and they shut his mike off because he just wouldnt stop. Best show i ever saw.
Loved that handshake Bill Graham gave George as he came backstage after his set!!
No one can do it like George !!
I could watch this a thousand times. Love his energy. Great show
Saw him at The Paramount Theatre in early 80's in Denver, maybe 500 seats tops, he had just a 3-piece band that night (him, bass, drummer, other guy was ill) most amazing super LOUD show ever !!!
This guy knows how to rock
💎💎Un bon Rock Live de l'excellent guitariste Monsieur George Thorogood 💎💎
Just DAMB!!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
The man can really rock!
Yes 👍👍Very Good guitariste
I was there at Hampton and was blown away by both George and the Stones. Then went to see them in Philly on the same tour. Thorogood opened the show, then Journey, and then the stones. The entire crowd fell asleep for Journey as Thorogood tired them out in the opening act and the needed to recuperate before the Stones came out.
George is much better than the Stones.
@@Marakesh7 I wouldn't really say that!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@Marakesh7 I think they're cool in their own way!!!!!!👍👍👍👅👅👅🐍🐍🐍
I saw him just a month before this performance.
He opened for the Stones at Candlestick Park, SF
He stole the show!
🤯😆😎😁gotta love George an the destroyers. Thanks for all the times your great tunes have .lifted me .🤠☝️👌rock on🍻
Blew the roof off!
More I listen George more I realize that he is one the best performancer in his time, much more that even Rolling Stones
J adore l expression de son visage. Il s eclate.. Un grand artiste. Respect 🙏
Wow never seen band work so hard at what they do!

When Hank joined the band, it took them to a different level! Saw these guys many many times growing up. Best time I’ve ever had at a concert! Your head would be buzzing and you’d be on such a feel good high when you left.
