To me this is one of the best orchestrated pieces of music
My husband passed in Dec. 2021 I was home alone and my daughter called me and asked me what I was doing. I told her I was having a drink and she said without me and alone so I had to play George I drink alone and it led to this. My husband loved him so much.❤
My husband and I are going to see him on May 1st 2024. Can't wait! I'm listening to One Bourbon, one scotch and one beer right now!❤🎉

I was at this concert in the ninth row. It was awesome! My ears rang for weeks afterwards. We stuck around the stage door when the show was over and not only got a glad-hand from George but hung out with John Lee Hooker and Willie Dixon for a while just sitting in chairs on the sidewalk while they regaled us with tales from the Old Days on a warm summer night. Needless to say, it is still one of the best moments of my life. And we never even asked for an autograph.....
So cool
When it happens like that, you never do, My Brother! :)
That’s a great privilege to have! I’d like to meet George one day
The best band nerd in town!
The fact y’all didn’t ask or even have the thought to ask for an autograph makes you and gang #legends
I worked at a liquor store when I was young called state line liquors in Maryland. I was a beer boy. I got the privilege of taking Lonesome George's alcohol to his van. Tipped me a hundred bucks. I will never forget that.

I truly wish George Thorogood would come to New Zealand. We miss out on so much amazing talent 😮
I saw him in Calgary in the 80s. He did 4 Encores and finally they shut off the power in the Max Bell Arena. George kept playing n the dark as everyone went silent so we could hear him. The best Concert I was ever at in the worst Venue in the world.
That would never ever happen now a days!! 👍

He did the same thing at the old Bayfront Arena Saint Petersburg FL. First ones to hear the debut of the bad to the bone he loves baseball always comes to FLA for spring training

I not lying. He lived in apartment next to me as a kid. We knocked on his door for my friends birthday. His answered and picked up a guitar. Then crushed songs. He’s a legend and a god. I never forget it.
If that's true, and I believe you, that is pretty cool.
Yeah, I don't believe you.

They need to play this kind of music it’s still good and makes you feel good and have a lot of energy it takes your mind in a different direction
There are new groups out there, but it's not popular in the mainstream so you have to seek it out unfortunately. With that said, rock and blues music will never die, just go underground like it is now, until it gets popular again. Gen Z are bringing back grunge music in the underground now too. Happy search guys, and keep dancing!
May I suggest Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats. You can definitely find them on CZcams
The reason he turned it into a 10 minute song was so everyone could get 1 bourbon, 1 scotch, and 1 beer while the song was played. He got a piece of what the bar took in at these shows.
One of the best musicians to ever grace our presence, I’ve worn out many cassettes back in the day listening to him, will never get sick of his music
I saw George at SUNY Geneseo back about this time in the early 80s, I am not sure of the exact date... but this motoring basic rock and roll was about as much fking fun as we can handle back then - without being obnoxious to others just freaking having good fun enjoying our youth. NO reserves and no crap and no fking wars we were the kids of the late seventies that just loved having fun without any preconceived thoughts of the bloody fking status quo MATRIX affecting us. It was the true eye of the storm.
You're lucky 😅

The 80's were a total blast. Boomers had the best music of all time.
As did us generation X'ers. We all grew up in the 70s and 80s.
I’m sorry, nothing can beat the sixties, nothing.
@@sandienochs6132 Millennials will say the same about music of their era. Every generation sees the music of their youth as the best. I was born in 1967. I like music of the 60s, 70s and 80s mostly, plus some 90s. The 60s was a time of a cultural revolution where pop music exploded and the music of 1960 was very different to the music of 1969 which is an objective viewpoint, as is that popular music such as rock and roll was born in 1955. Contemporary music continued to evolve ever since its inception and every new genre creates a new sub-genre. So, to me and most people of my age, the music of the late 70s to early 80s was the best era and there were many great artistes from that period who have written songs that will last forever. I can't see that happening in the last 20 years because attitude and image have taken over actual musical integrity.
@@sandienochs6132 the '60s was the most influential, but the best isn't something they'll just be given
If you think the 80s were good, you should have seen the 70s. No contest, zeppelin, sabbath, purple, floyd, who, tya, lizzy, etc, etc, etc

Age is just a number. As far as I'm concerned I'm still 27. You're the age you feel or, as Mae West said, you're only as old as the youth you feel '. Now where are those young men!
Got dang. I said Got dang!!! Elvin Bishop, George, and the band were smokin’ hot! Not just great musicians but for true professional entertainers putting on a show and rocking the crowd.
