    Winston did a lot of unnecessary political grandstanding during this period. He had an opportunity to make history, but he ended up almost making a mockery of MMP and many of us at that time were confused by some of the skullduggery that went on; Waka jumping etc. However I still support MMP Because it works.

      They had far more integrity then, were more mature and just did a more convincing job all around.

    Go Winston Peters! Last man standing … if we had got compulsory super like Australia did when he was pushing for it we could be in a much better position than we are today.

    The fact that National had more votes didn't hold sway? MMP is a crock when the losing small party chooses both the govt and the PM, despite what the voters said. Even worse, 2017, annointing the election losers. And promises rubbed out.
