I usually get my mechanics by referrals, I think it's important to have someone that has the knowledge but also someone you can trust 100% because, in the end, you're putting your company in their hands!

You are so right about this! My boyfriend is a new owner operator. Although he is a damn good driver, he sucks at business, negotiating and speaking with people. He also makes the worst decisions with mechanics. He continues to take his truck to the same mechanics that have the worst reviews on google and who keep giving him his truck back with more problems requiring more repairs and money from him! I researched and found a great mechanic but because it is 70 miles away from his parking spot he thinks it's too far. I believe quality is more important than 70 miles when it comes to your business, which is your truck! Like you said, every minute the truck is down, he makes NOTHING!
