    Emma Hayes is bad loser. Buchanan stepped on Patri’s foot and hit her on her face. Patri hit the ball first. So she had the ball. Two fouls on one incident gets a yellow and she had one before, makes it red. I watched that 15 times. It was not a wrong decision.

    • @Tchafsir
      @Tchafsir Před 17 dny

      I don't think Buchanan even touches her. Look at the stamp again. I don't think there's any contact at all. If there is, it's extremely minimal, never a second yellow. Even Barca players told Emma after the game that the ref was helpful towards them, that says a lot

    • @NaserHekmat
      @NaserHekmat Před 17 dny

      @@Tchafsir that is according to Emma Hayes. You are saying all Emma Hayes is saying is true. The rest is false. She said about penalty too. Emma said “she left a leg there”. So it is not only the Buchanan incident, she doesn’t believe in penalty either. So unless there is a big conspiracy against Chelsea, (the VAR and all referees ) we should believe that she is a bad loser. My opinion: Chelsea lost to the brilliance of Aitana Bonmati. She is exceptional.

    • @Tchafsir
      @Tchafsir Před 17 dny

      @@NaserHekmat She's simply telling what the barca players told her, she's simply relaying the barca players' words. Why would she lie about that? That's huge defamation. She said The barca players told her the ref was helpful to them. She would be crazy to lie about something like that, telling the media something the barca players didn't say, that's crazy, she wouldn't do that.
      As for the penalty, that's her opinion, she doesn't believe it's a pen, as many also don't, same with the red card, that's her opinion like many others. My opinion: It wasn't a red, and 11 vs 11, chelsea would have been in the final. Barca struggled to break down our shape when we were 11, same in the first leg, their only goal before the red came via an unlucky deflection.

      And your view is clearly influenced by you being a Chelsea fan and totally unable to be objective.
      Was the second yellow soft?
      Yes it was, but it was not wrong.
      Neither you, the ref or VAR is able to judge how much force that was in it.
      It clearly looked like there was contact and that is enough.
      If you expect a ref to be able to judge it any better in the extremely short time it happens, you clearly know nothing about football and refereeing.
      And no VAR in the world would want to overturn it since it clearly looked to be contact.
      And the penalty given was also not wrong as well.
      Would it be a big mistake by the ref to not give it?
      No, it would not, but it was not a mistake to give it as well and in my opinion was it without a doubt a penalty.
      And I am neither a Chelsea fan nor a Barcelona fan and think it would be nice if Chelsea had won the two legs, but the reality is that Barcelona are way better and deserved to win.

      @Tchafsir Před 16 dny

      @@carnivore2023 I'm just giving my opinion. I don't think it was a pen and a second yellow as do many in media who aren't Chelsea fans. Even as a Chelsea fan, i can admit if something was seriously a foul but not in this case. It's my opinion, you don't have to like it, but you have to accept it, and many agree with me. I know the ref's job is hard but that doesn't exempt her from criticism. If i feel she made a mistake, i'm allowed to voice that opinion. I have to accept her decision, but i don't have to like it, that's all.

    Let me stop you right there. First of all, I'm not a barça fan. Next, let me clarify what constitutes an offense, according to FIFA Rules of the Game. Law 12 states:
    A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:
    • charges
    • jumps at
    • kicks or attempts to kick
    • pushes
    • strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt)
    • tackles or challenges
    • trips or attempts to trip
    If an offence involves contact, it is penalised by a direct free kick.
    • Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed
    • Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned
    • Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and/or endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off.
    You already stated that Buchanan was reckless, which in and of itself warrants a booking. A second booking is grounds for dismissal.
    The same applies in the penalty kick. Remember, it doesn't have to be reckless. If a foul is called, it warrants a direct free kick, which inside the penalty box constitutes a spot kick from 11 meters.

    • @user-ez4kv6dx4b

      Buchanan and Patri's was a normal contact, not only in WSL foot-ball but in Spain too, La Liga F Iberdrola, if you follow them both. Why would it be different in Champions League? Yet, the rules introduced in the game these 10 last years almost changed football drastically so it is very painful to see by real lovers of the game. But a referee still has the latitude to manage the game a way to preserve the competition spirit and football interests while being fair to both protagonists. A little more discernment in choosing the lady referee more experienced, more accurate in her decisions and, not to be remembreed of bitterly by the loosing team nor gratitude by the winning team. Otherwise, accept the choice of a male referee; fot the prestige of women football. From a Lyon supporter!

    • @gabrBL82
      @gabrBL82 Před 17 dny

      @@user-ez4kv6dx4b the only thing that you are correct about is that the rules apply in Spain in England in champions League in Liga f or in WSL. And because the referee has latitude to decide whether a challenge is egregious or a simple shoulder to shoulder challenge. You have to remember however that Buchanan had been warned by the official before the clock hot ticked 60 seconds but she kept pushing and pushing until the referee had had enough and she was issued the first yellow card. If anyone is still questioning the referee's decision then it's purely sour grapes. Plain and simple.

    This was a chelsea podcast. The reason why chelsea couldn't play and were sloppy because we were pressing them like crazy they had no. Time on the ball. Only for a backpass. When that happens, you. They were forced to play a long ball as salma was hunting for the ball and and so we dominated the first half. We controlled the game very well. From beginning to end, we have to be more clinical, we can't waste so many goals , and it makes it difficult for ourselves. But the result was great if chelsea had won the banter would have never stopped but now i like what i hear hehe vamoos!!!

    Jonatan Giraldez is too risk averse.
    He should have spent some of this tie with Patri for Walsh at holding midfielder and given Claudia Pina at least an hour.
    This was harder than it needed to be.
    PS:
    Ramirez was on the pitch for a few of Levante's 0-7s vs Barca.
    She looked most dangerous in the 2nd half at Barca when Giraldez dropped Engen to the bench and put Patri at center back.
    If they were desperate for a goal, the move should have been to drop Walsh out for Claudia Pina.

      Well, he's leaving anyway so no pressure.
      Bonpasteur has this well covered by now; Lyon will be very well prepared.
      They are very similar to Chelski, just better in almost all aspects.
      Barca can win but they'll have to do much better than they did in these games.
      After Jenni and Oshoala have left Barca are overloaded with scorers of great goals
      and thin on the ground with great goal scorers: only Claudia Pina and Alexia left until Pajor arrives.
      Against this type of formation they'll have to accept to score as they did against Chelski:
      deflections, cards and penalties.
      Messing around to line up a perfect swing with your good foot as Salma has been doing is only going to end one way:
      blocked shots.

Not in the sense that she allowed the game to become violent; the Ref would have been increasingly conscious she was making a series of poor decisions (and positioning errors) and that must have impacted on her state of mind and clarity of thought.
      It's not inconceivable that Bonmati would have received a yellow for taking out Leupolz in the aftermath of the Buchanan/Patri tackle ~ but at that point the Ref's sole focus was booking Buchanan ASAP.

    Ibr...UEFA, PGMOL, FA...etc have an agenda against Chelsea Football Club the institution. UEFA is Barcelna Association this isnt the first time the ref have been a disgrace against Chelsea. A vivid memory is the mens squad where King Drogba got so irritated that we all know what his response was. Good thing years later the mens got a result where a Spanish player by the name of Torres helped Chelsea secure their place in a final and went on to win it. Maybe just maybes football karma will do justice and Chelsea Football Club Women will eventually lift that trophy.
