    I'm coming from South Carolina do you recommend any campgrounds in Georgia maybe over by Tybee Island somewhere? I don't want to drive the whole 8 hours in one day to get to this campground. And then heading south with the next campground you recommend

    But where are the hammocks??

    • @eatingoodinthewoods
      @eatingoodinthewoods  Před 2 lety

      Hammocks in Florida means like shade trees and such

    • @eatingoodinthewoods
      @eatingoodinthewoods  Před 2 lety

      Hammock is a term used in the southeastern United States for stands of trees, usually hardwood, that form an ecological island in a contrasting ecosystem. Hammocks grow on elevated areas, often just a few inches high, surrounded by wetlands that are too wet to support them.

      @@eatingoodinthewoods Thanks for clearing that up. In the northeast we use the phrase to mean sleeping in a device suspended between trees 😀

    • @eatingoodinthewoods
      @eatingoodinthewoods  Před 2 lety

      Yep. It means that here too. I never understood that use of the word and I've lived in the south my entire life.
