This video is 11 years old and still damn funny. In fairness to the town, they have made many improvements in the last decade. We are still woefully behind what a seaside Florida town could be, but its home.

I just visited Titusville Fla on a vacation trip to visit some of my families family. I am a corporate trainer and I often search CZcams for fun, work appropriate, video's and when we booked the trip I searched and found the Unofficial Tourism video. It is wonderful and although it's now 9 years old I loved trying to find all of the things that have changed, stayed the same, or have been updated or destroyed. I shared this video with many people leading up to the trip and so many people are now aware of Titusville because of your video. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it. I know it caused some issues in the news and that it is shown to folks at the local school district as our family said they had seen it prior. It is truly a piece of Americana that I hope never dies. Here's to next years trip to Titusville and that there is still So much to do.

Living in Titusville was like being in a bad marriage - after being in it for a while, you start to go numb. It's embarrassing to see so many vacant commercial sites. In one place, they've razed a mall/shopping center, and just left this huge slab of asphalt. City officials are either incompetent or have received graft over 30 years and so businesses go further south to Merritt Island and surrounding areas. It's pathetic.

  • @courtneythompson9280

An accurate depiction of Titusville. May be enjoyable if your older because its quiet and dull. It is still stuck in the 60's space age. Most of the people I went to HS with (c/o 07) moved away to other places. Always disappointing whenever I visit because its gets worse and worse. Left a couple of years ago myself and have never looked back. How did I ever survive...

FWIW, Miracle City "Mall" was finally closed down for good this year. It's going to be bulldozed so a developer can build a more up-to-date outdoor mall that will probably also be desolate.

I grew up in Tightassville in the 60s, and could hardly wait to get the hell out. You nailed it!!! However, you just wait -- after you've left, you'll still feel some affection for T-ville, the way you'd do for any place where you'd spent formative years.
Then someone else will make a video like this, and you'll scream with laughter, like I did.

Impressive video. I think I will relocate from Christmas, Florida to this great metropolis which has a beautiful view of the Indian River and those balmy breezes from the nearby ocean. Imagine all those McDonald's Restaurants! I could have lunch in a different one each day.
Seriously, if the small town atmosphere does not work for you, move to Miami and enjoy the crime rate. As for me, I am moving to T-ville and kissing goodbye to the rat-race and congestion of Christmas, Florida.

It's a shame too. Because it's located in the perfect spot to watch the launches across the water. The city council doesn't even realize that there is so much potential for this town if they would utilize some younger, newer-age ideas in creating good opportunities for tourism. I realize that when the shuttle program ended, it made the town take an even worse nose dive, but now with the re-engerized space program, thanks to Elon Musk & SpaceEx, the town could be a gold mine. But I hear there are too many old folks on the city council who don't seem to want any type of positive or lucrative growth for more positive change for the town. At least we now have Titus Landing (which replaced the old Miracle City Mall) and that's a start and I'm starting to see some new construction in a couple of places, but they really need to do more. This town could be generating so much revenue from tourism dollars if they only knew what to do and how to do it.

Loved the video. It's spot on, and that's why I moved away. The only issue I have is with Dave's at the mall. You probably don't know this but "Dave" started working at that little stand when it was an Orange Julius back in the late 70's. He scratched out a living and eventually saved enough money to buy it. Now he's all that's left. I feel bad for the guy. It's sad to see someone achieve a modest dream only to have it taken away.
