My 2 favourite games atm. More into AMS2 atm but a lot of time for both of them and it's clear to see how much AMS2 has improved. I think AMS2 is more consistent across all its cars, but RF2 is better at certain classes ( BTCC, GTE and GT3 all epic ).
The improvement in AMS 2 from how it was day one has been nothing short of phenomenal
That's why I am looking forward to Le Mans Ultimate, hopefully they can deliver consistent great cars.
100% agree
RF2 for BTCC, and their online is now pretty good too
AMS2 for F1 with complete season skin mods
Right foot. Science. Left foot. Christmas. Good mix 😂
Glad someone noticed !!
Did exactly the same thing yesterday: MCL720 GT3, Laguna and Road America in AMS2 and rFactor 2.
Faster on AMS2, but more fun trough sweat in rFactor 2. However, will use AMS2 more in the future, especially when friends come over to be impressed by looks of the sim.
For sure slightly "easier " drive in AMS 2, you work harder for the laptime in rf2
Nice content
Cheers mate!
rf2 does feel like rubber on track. does it better than anything else out there.
1K th sub, congrats!
Thanks mate, just saw it tick over!!
Pretty proud of my little achievement 🤗
When you say you can "feel" the braking in the wheel, what exactly do you mean? Is this something very subtle that you pick up with experience?
Very hard to put into words. I think a lot of it is there is just more road details in rf2 which I feel it's translated really well. AMS tracks feel " flatter" even though I know there is some detail there.
I'd summarise it by saying I feel I'm doing a lot more brake modulation in rf2 in the braking zone which feels super immersive
Good comparison @jonslow81. @SleepRelaxingBed I have only been on rF2 for 3 weeks and was genuinely concerned I would find it difficult to drive but it has been a great experience. When you brake in rFactor 2, you can feel the wheels load up and this helps control the car because there is a lot more of the change in traction and car body roll detailed through the wheel. AMS 2 is still superb IMO and the changes we have seen in the physics has been a huge leap from two years ago.
You can get into both sims and enter a race with 3 laps of practice without being a danger. Unlike iRacing, which normally involves a good few spins, which makes it less accessible for a quick jump in and race.
rf2 is the shits for feels. love it
You sir are correct 💯
Do feel that the ABS and TC implementation in AMS 2 is still very primitive and happens at a game level and not on a car to car level. It's way too intrusive.
Agree, even with it OFF it still feels like about 3/10
@@happilyaverageracer I don't feel that way. I have ABS haptic on my p1000s and the ABS works as it should and without it when you dont have downforce, you will lock up and die
i really enjoy ams2 for the GT1😊 gte and the pro car round nords mostly and i got the season pass for 27 quid in the sale also i race in vr to obviously its a plus for that but i do like rf2 in the z4 round nords it just feels so good how you can play with the car but i only got the free nords track on rf2 will at sone pointget the official one
The rf2 laser scanned Nords is by far the best one out there

The thing what AMS2 doing better is the function of the dashboard. Why we can't have the full dashboard functionality like ACC or AMS2 in rf2? That's so sad 😢
I get what you’re saying but I’m not noticing the dash while I’m driving to be honest, it’s eyes forward
John, do you have the same opinion about braking in ams2 with cars w/o abs?
Yeah and that's why I also had the ABS very low in the gt3. There should be some feedback either way
I spent several hours the other day trying to get this apparently best RF2 FFb to work for me john, i really tried … i just can’t feel it , i can’t get a nice heavy and detailed experience that doesn’t have massive spikes in bumps etc.
@@kuku6031 that's a shame actually mate. I've been lucky if you want to call it that, rf2 has always just worked out of the box for me
I kinda feel there’s something similar to what i’m used to with my Ams2 custom ffb file . but it’s just. 50% weaker and more vague in the fine details and levels of sop connection.
the braking feels similar though . you can get that in Ams2 with custom .
@@kuku6031 custom ffb files is something I've never fiddled with in these or any other Sims. I'm kind of of the opinion that if you can't get it to work as was supplied from the Devs then I'm not going to muck around any further
rf2's online system is so nice tho
It's absolutely brilliant
Why are two different people operating the pedals?
Why not is the answer🤗
They're not polarizing to me, I really like them both.
I'm the same, I was talking the wider community
Wish reiza would improve the sound of this McLaren gt3
Yeah rf2 wins that battle
The two simulators are incredible, I enjoy them a lot, AMS2 has more content, but the physics are one point below R Factor, although they are getting closer...RFactor2 lacks content in my opinion and there are some cars that are very you miss the sensations.
Interested to see what content do you think rf2 is missing ?
More GT4, more Formulas, Gt1 class, group C, more circuits...@@happilyaverageracer
John I have done a drive day and I don’t think that the sims are realistic compared to the real thing
Yeah I can't imagine any of them being realistic you anything when the that address trying to simulate all those g forces that go through your body into just a steering wheel
@@happilyaverageracer it’s not just that John it’s the grip in the tyres in real life the cars don’t do or behave like that off our simulator s it’s more grip in real life on the race track
You just don't go fast enough IRL, speed perception is absolutely abysmal in sims compared to real life, no fear, no g forces, etc.
