Vocalist and mastermind Nameless, recently released the following statement regarding Starmourner's musical direction:
"Starmourner, the brand new album, takes these concepts to a higher level. It explores joy (instead of sorrow), the cosmos (instead of earth), and paradise (instead of purgatory.) But most importantly, it explores ecstasy instead of tragedy as its basic human emotion. With over 72 minutes of heavy, melodic, and dramatic black metal, it is Ghost Bath's most ambitious undertaking yet.
The album takes its listener on a journey in a variety of ways; Each track is accompanied by a beautifully crafted painting as well as a "parable" to read alongside. This allows the listener to explore not only the audio soundscapes, but a visual and imaginative experience through as they delve into the album. "The stories, or parables, look into jewish angelology and the hierarchy of angels as found in the bible and other religious texts," says Nameless. Although the album has a definitive joyful and hopeful feel, it is still drenched in depression and sorrow, as any true Ghost Bath record should be." - Hudba

I really enjoy them. I grew up on old school 1st and 2nd wave BM. It makes sense emo and metalcore kids would get into it and evolve it with their influences. I like a lot of death rock,goth and new wave too. Nothing is more black metal than doing what you want and not giving a fuck.

What's your favourite humming noise? Is it hhhhmmmmmmmm or is it hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmm? The first one now, that's the sound of a woman humming.
Holy shit, I never noticed that angelic voice at 2:52 that harmonizes with Dennis' vocals until I actually paid close attention to the song. I was really feeling it. Think that's my favorite part of this entire song now.
The ending for this song is amazing, now I'm excited to see what else is on the album.
I love it, the melodies in particular.
These guys must be genuinely weird, in a good way! it takes me time to get their style but i respect how unpredictable they are!

All the people who hate this band are most of the time just kids who think they know stuff about black metal, they think the vocals are “weird” not realizing it’s just dsbm vocals, and the music is amazing

I don't get why people hate these guys so much. Maybe if you are looking for traditional black metal, but these guys are clearly not that. You don't listen to Ghost Bath for that. They are a different kind of band alltogether, comparing them to totally different sounding bands is idiotic.

I don't get it guys its not THAT bad the drums could be a slightly lower in the mix but other than that a refreshing evolution for the band. I love the jarring riffs. also, everybody complaining about the vocals doesn't know anything about dsbm, but try show me a dinosaur's self titled and unreqvited's disquiet , If its that big of a problem. Vocals are overrated anyways, metal is all about guitars, drums and bass.

Not a big fan of DSBM, Ghost Bath is pretty much the only band I like of this genre. This seems a bit of an evolution, an almost, dare I say, brighter sound overall. Drums could be dialed back a bit in the first section but I found the monotonous and loud quality mixed with the the dirge-y guitar from about 5:20 on to be somewhat hypnotic. This band always gets a lot of hate, which is unfortunate. I think they are very interesting.

In my opinion, the style that goes better for this band, is like their albums: Moonlover or Funeral, I think that the style of Starmourner sounds rare for this band, because the guitars on this album are a lot of melodic for their type of music.

Literally every song from them has the exact same vocals, you could just insert a looping sample of the wilhelm scream and it would be better.
