So rare that if you could get your hands on one, you'd be looking at luxury sports car prices. Could he have just bought a registered switch? Its plausible, but totally not probable. I also don't think the switches were ever sold on their own, so it would have had to come off a glock 18.

So most of the glock auto sears that you see on most glocks today are most likely 3rd party manufactured pieces being sold to Class 3 Weapons dealers with SOTs or manufactured by themselves with the proper licensing of course.
